Hey everyone,
I have a birthday coming up and really want to travel somewhere for my birthday. I was thinking of visiting NYC and want to check out it's green spaces, parks, the High Line, bike along the Brooklyn Bridge, etc. I was looking at prices for hotels and the prices are starting at around $220 a night. I was planning of staying for four nights and that's over a $1000. I really value privacy given my medical conditions and my own room, so I don't want to stay in a hostel. Airbnbs are quite pricey too and about the same cost as staying in a hotel.
Another alternative was to go to Rio de Janeiro. The prices for hotels are very low and quite affordable. Less than $75 for a night at a four star hotel. However, I've been reading a ton of horror stories about people and their time in Brazil to the point where they don't take out their phone. I currently live in a big city and take precaution when I go to downtown like not wear jewelry, my headphones, not carry a purse, and keep my personal items in my front pockets. In Rio, I really want to bike along the beaches, get some sun, watch a sunset, and meet friendly locals. I wouldn't be out past 6pm and would only roam around the area near the hotel I stay in. A flight out to Rio is less than $700, which is way less than a four night stay in NYC.
So I guess my dilemma is this: NYC hotels are too expensive and can't see paying $220 a night; Rio is the more affordable option but I worry about my safety. In NYC, I wouldn't be out at night and the latest I come in is like 6pm. Given the city I live in, I would exercise the same precaution in NYC and plan on not visiting certain areas.
Any suggestions of what I should do? Any other alternatives of where I could travel to? I'm looking for a place where I can get some "sun", it's walkable, the people are nice, and there are ton of museums, outdoor spaces and fun activities to do, and hotels are less than $100 a night!

Rockstar Games can't release Grand Theft Auto VI fast enough, though as we eagerly (and impatiently) await for the next installment in the long-running GTA franchise, fan made trailers have us drooling at what the actual product could look like. The latest one comes from TeaserPlay, which used Unreal Engine 5 to render several different locations in stunning detail.
The actual game isn't likely to use UE5. Rumor has it that Rockstar Games is leaning on its own proprietary RAGE9 graphics engine, and that's both plausible and, in our opinion, very likely to be true. TeaserPlay acknowledges this in the description to its concept trailer, suggesting it wanted to render several possible locations in UE5 so we'd have something to compare with down the line.

In the order they appear, the trailer showcases Vice City, San Fierro, Las Venturas, and Liberty City. The shots inside what appears to be a high-rise apartment complex in Las Venturas look especially crisp as the camera pans over a carpet and into a kitchen island with some veggies and pasta in the background, though it's far from the only scene that stands out.
"I/we use the most powerful features of Unreal Engine, such as ray tracing, lumen, nanite [virtualized geometry], screen ppace reflections, and MetaHuman so that the graphics are as close as possible to a next-gen sandbox game," TeaserPlay states.
There are a ton of leaks and rumors surrounding GTA 6. One of the more recent ones suggest there will be at least two playable protagonists, one of which is a Latina woman. The franchise hasn't featured a playable female character in a long time.
Rockstar Games has been rather short on details for the next installment, though it has at least confirmed that GTA 6 is in development.
"With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," the devloper shared in a blog post last February. "With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered—and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway."
No release date has been mentioned, though Rockstar Games will share its next earnings report in early August. It's possible we will get an update at that time.

Karl-Heinz Groß was 39 years old and the manager of the traditional folk music group Kastelruther Spatzen, a very successful group in that genre from Kastelruth, South Tyrol. His brother, Albin Groß, is the group's keyboardist.
In March 1998, the group was on tour through Germany. On March 5, the band had a concert in Magdeburg in eastern Germany. The next day, the band travelled to Essen in western Germany for the next stop of their tour. Karl-Heinz stayed back in Magdeburg with one of the vans the group used to carry their equipment and merchandise.
At 10 AM, he stopped by in an auto repair shop in an industrial area in the north of the city, close to the city's port. He was hoping to get the car repaired as quickly as possible, so he could join the rest of the group in Essen before the beginning of the concert. However, it quickly became apparent that the issue would take more time to fix than anticipated.
Karl-Heinz, who had previously been working as a bus driver and thus knew some things about cars and was always very adamant that things had to be done his way, became agitated when he felt that the mechanics didn't correctly identify the issue the car had and started arguing with them. At around 4:30 PM, he calls his brother in Essen and tells him that he won't be making it to the concert and that he will join them for the next concert in Glauchau, the following day.
At 4:45 PM, he leaves the car shop without telling anyone where he was going. What he does and where he goes in the next 90 minutes is unknown. At 6:15 PM, about 2 kilometers away from the car shop, a truck driver going over the Steinkopfinsel, an island in the middle of the city's port, finds a man lying on the street in front of him. He's heavily injured and bleeding.
Since it's almost freezing temperatures and it's raining, the driver covers the man up with a blanket and calls an ambulance. The man is quickly identified as Karl-Heinz Groß from the ID in his purse. He is rushed to the hospital. Despite immediately getting help and an emergency surgery being performed, Karl-Heinz Groß passes away the same evening at 11 PM from his injuries. He is survived by his wife and four children.
Investigators quickly rule out a robbery gone wrong since the victim's valuables, including cash, a mobile phone and jewellery, were still on his person. They also rule out an accident, perhaps caused by a heavy truck, as the sole cause of death, though some of the injuries in the torso area are consistent with the body being rolled over or squashed by a heavy vehicle. However, Karl-Heinz also sustained injuries to the head consistent with blunt force trauma. He had no defensive wounds on his hands or arms.
Police also quickly suspect that Karl-Heinz was not killed where he was found, as his clothes and shoes would have had to be more muddy and wet than they were. Due to the street's remote location, there were no witnesses. As this was in the 1990s, not too long after German reunification, most factories on the island were ruins. The port was the only business in operation at the time. This makes it more unlikely that Karl-Heinz went there by himself, as he had no reason to be there.
Police look into the mechanics at the car shop with whom Karl-Heinz had fought and searches the shop, but ultimately find no evidence connecting them to the crime. Over the years, hundreds of people are questioned with about five suspects being looked into specifically, but ultimately all of them are ruled out. Forensic scientists are able to garner DNA evidence from the victim's jacket but find no match.
As a result, the potential murder of Karl-Heinz Groß remains unsolved to this day. What happened to him and why was he found on a random, desolate road in a mostly abandoned industrial area?

Today I feel so alone in parenthood. I will start by saying my husband is a good partner and father, but his work schedule sucks. He is a nurse and an assistant manager in his department. He works weekend nights, Friday-Sunday 7pm-7am which is actually more like 6:45-8:15, and then usually has several hours of continuing education or paperwork to do throughout the week. This means he makes a lot more money and I’m able to stay home with my daughter, which is what I always wanted. Except I still work two nights a week serving tables/bartending. And have been in school since last summer. And because my husband is asleep during the day almost every day, 90% of household tasks fall on me. I do all the cleaning, cooking, and laundry. And I don’t feel like I have a partner in parenting the vast majority of the time. And I wish we had more time together as a family.
My daughter is 19 months old and needs to get out of the house more. I try to take her to story time at the library once a week and to the park when the weather permits. I’ve been trying to find things going on in our city for us to do on the weekends. There was a beer fest going on today that advertised some family friendly things like a petting zoo. Great! She loves animals. Live music! She loves music and dancing. So we went, just the two of us. There were lots of kids there but every other parent had family and friends. Lots of families with both parents or groups of moms. I only have one “mom friend” but we aren’t super close, and she had to work today.
I made the stupid decision not to bring the stroller because I knew my daughter would want to walk and that I would have to get her out to pet animals anyway. It went well for about 15 minutes. There were SO many people there, I barely felt comfortable letting her walk at all because she’s so small and people weren’t paying enough attention. But she didn’t want to be carried and started getting upset.
We came home and she bit my nipple harder than ever while nursing for what feels like the 10th time today. I tried to vent to my husband and he said, “But her teeth are probably bothering her.” Of course they are, but don’t I deserve any sympathy too? It’s just been a rough day that didn’t go as planned and I don’t feel like anyone in my life understands. And I regret that I spent the 40 minutes I got to see my husband today complaining.

I haven't been able to find any discussion on this, so I figured I'd come to y'all for some help. I've been looking pretty heavily at the trayvax contour as my next pickup. I've been on quite a wallet kick recently, but I haven't really been able to find something I'll feel comfortable carrying for years and years. They're either too bulky, too small, cards fall out, cash is hard to get too, inefficient, etc.
Introducing the trayvax contour-- it seems to fit all my needs. But one fly in the syrup that keeps me from pushing that "Buy" button, is that damn grommet on the strap. I prefer black leather wallets/two toned gray and black as opposed to your standard brown. The grommet appears to be anodized brass and looks amazing with the black coating. BUT that being said, during my research I've discovered that the coating seems to wear off after certain use/time, thus potentially killing my aesthetic and my urge to carry the contour for a long duration of time (and make use of that 65 year warranty).
Does anyone have any experience with this? Does it wear off quickly? Only with a certain degree of abuse? My wallets pretty much just go in and out of my front pocket, never seeing much wear and tear beyond your standard patina, but is this the type of use that would shave off the brass coating over time? I feel like this is a rather trifling issue at its core, but we're talking about $150 wallets here (I've been eying that TI specifically...) and I just feel safer than sorry asking for some guidance concerning one I'd like to hold onto for my kids to see.
Also as a brief addendum, this isn't an indictment on the contour in any fashion. My issue boils down to pure personal preference-- I'm sure there are those who LOVE the brassy look, it just doesn't fit my aesthetic vision and there are other wallets that might fit that vision better, and for a longer time. I'm one week into the low fodmap/ elimination stage. My main issue is abdominal pain, likely caused by bloating.
Stupid of me to have not realised sooner, but I believe my salt intake has been increasing. An overabundance of sodium of course causes water retention and bloating. I've also made a lot of low fodmap vegetable soups for the next week, likely all with too much salt.
I'm sure I know the answer already and just don't want to hear it, but would it be best to start over? Or is it alright to limit salt intake from here on out, and carry on as normal?
Does anyone have any experience with salt affecting their digestive issues?

• I have been roleplaying since 2012. Yes, I got experience under my belt, and yes, my ideas usually have really long reads, but don't let that scare you off! After the starter is off, I may lower myself down to a decent paragraph or two, sometimes three! It all depends on what I've got to work with.
  
• My timezone is EST. I'm awake from 9am - 2am and I'm usually free unless I'm busy doing house chores, out of the house, asleep, or playing video games on my switch. I'm usually become REALLY active at or around 8pm.

1: if you don't like 50/50 mixture of sex scenes and story, don't bother hopping into my inbox. I'm fine with sex scenes, but when it's constantly back to back, the roleplay itself gets boring.
2: Be literate. No one liners. I like to write..it's annoying when I send a 2-3 paragraph response and I get 3 lines...just...no. I am not accepting people who are just starting out! If you aren't experienced in writing or roleplaying, kindly stay out of my inbox.
3: Be okay with playing canon characters. I'm mainly doing fandom roleplays right now and it's going to be Canon x my oc. No, I'm not doing double ups. Do not even ask, because the answer will be no every time. I do not give a shit if you think that makes me 'lazy' or 'selfish', if you've got a problem, you can simply ignore or block me. Commenting on my post to bitch and whine about me not doubling up will only result in me blocking you. The ONLY time I'll double up, and if I'm confident enough, I'll only do female characters. I suck at males. Got a problem? Not my issue. Block and move on.
4: Roleplay in third person. I can't and won't adapt to first. Don't even bring up the idea of you playing first person and me playing third. Believe it or not, I've been asked this twice and that is just a hell no for me. The only time I do first, is when I'm writing into my book.
5: if you don't know how to share ideas, then don't bother messaging me. I'm tired of carrying the story when the other person doesn't help. If you've got ideas, then PLEASE speak up! Your opinion on the roleplay matters too! I'm an easy going person, and easy to get along with (dispite my rules).
6: DO NOT control my character. I control what she says, does, hears, sees, ect. I don't control yours, so don't control mine. HOWEVER, if it's highly necessary and needed, then run it by me first and ask me. Just leave me some wiggle room so I can make a decent response. Failure to comply by this rule, results in immediate drop of the rp.

Yes, I've updated my rules just a tad. I do not care if it makes me sound mean or rude, because I'm neither of these things. I'm just tired of putting these rules down for a specific reason and they go ignored because I can tell when someone hasn't read them, and lied about it. I'm just trying to get my point across and roleplay. I'm a very easy going person who loves to make friends on the side (which I've somewhat given up on making friends...only a selective few have actually gained my friendship).

Its very good. I am glad to have been proven right, when the trailers first dropped about Lilith, people started to scream that the main white guy a ton of people were convinced that whom we saw was Rathma, when it turns out he's just some guy. And Rathma didn't abandon his position as the father of the necromancers. Instead Spoilers below :
Rathma dies and Lilith Mourns over his dead body, even us fighting a daemon literally called the Lamentation of Lilith which shows how strong feelings she had with him and how tomb was untouched by ANY demon It is without the doubt the best story telling Modern Blizzard has done in their games thus far.
With both environmental storytelling while being faithful to the characters. Yes Lilith was a power hungry monger, but she at least saw Rathma as her firstborn. Yes she wanted overthrow the heavens but she did despise the Prime Evils just as equally.
Inarius is also, book accurate, he's a prideful dick who sees himself as the most important, in the books he tricks everyone by parading as a prophet. Looks like he learned his lesson and just went full angelic mode. Now I am not sure if he actually killed Rathma, its entirely possibly he left fuming, or he killed Rathma.
I won't speculate on either side but its pretty interesting how they are painting both Lilith and Inarius as completely power hungry. The Dog that we are followed by is clearly some evil, its entire possible its Diablo. And I am guessing it is cause Diablo is a shapeshifter and we never saw that in game. Or hell could be an entire different figure.
A big thing I would like to discuss is people kind of wiki reading, there has been rumors abound and people spreading information about characters who can return. Like the Son of Baal, Lucon... Except Lucon's by all terms is erased from existence. He has yet to be mentioned since he's death, and its because for all purpose, Lucon is true deathed. He can't come back. If he does, which I suspect Blizzard won't. As they are thus far extremely loyal to the Sin War Triliogy.
I am one of those huge lore buffs, I go into a story, and I love to learn about the world, some people enjoy the gear and grinding. I love the story and characters. I don't like diablo 1 for its gameplay, I love it for its atmosphere and its characters. Its bosses, and the complicated characters you encounter inside of the cathederal. Its of course an RPG at its heart, and I feel thats something that D2 and d3 under

Tbh, I actually enjoyed the third act and the motive. Makes sense for the story being told and I like that it expands on Richie's backstory a bit. I will say I do feel once the monologue was over, everything after felt rushed a bit. There was no real fight or struggle. I feel Sam should've had a longer fight with Quinn and Bailey finally taking them down. Tara should've had a chase with Ethan and then she gains the upperhand killing him. As for the killer's personalities, I was fine with Quinn and Ethan. Bailey's character felt too forced by Dermot. He should've been more like Jill in how he carried himself. The over the top performance was better fit for the kids imo.

New to DEX, so TIA in advance to those answer my basic question ...

1) In DEX Mode, how do I adjust the size of the various panes in the MS Outlook and Teams app. On Win 11 desktop app, I just hold the divider line and drag, but that is no working in DEX Mode.
2) MS Outlook DEX mode, how do I collapse all the email folders? as of now, all the folders are expanded and it is a pain to scroll down to the lower folders...

Reason for interest in DEX, as my official laptop is locked down tight (cant even add attachments to gmail), so looking at DEX for personal work. Thus avoid carrying a second laptop ...

For context: My tribemates are taking some days off to do RL stuff and I decided to prepare some stuff as a little surprise for them to return to. We (especially me) are rather new to the game and have made ourselves a cute little homebase on Lost Island. Think Stone house, Dino Pen, a few tames but no breeding or advanced weaponry.
Anyways, I managed to tame a 140 Dinopithecus - Rafiki (I know, creative) - this week and have been having a blast with my new monkey friend since his agility and damage output just clicked with me. Farming meat and hide or just slaughtering everything on my screen without worries just feels right. Today however, he decided to be a huge PITA. So much so, that from now on he carries the name "Stupid monkey".
One of my surprises was taming a few bodyguards for our shoulderpets and Dung Beetles that we keep in a rather unsafe enclosure. I managed to find two high level Carnos that would work nicely and lured them into my trap. Just before the second one tamed up, a Terror Bird attacked me from outside the trap. Rafiki, being the good (neutral) boy that he is, naturally went ahead and clapped its cheeks into oblivion. A few seconds later, the Carno tamed up as a 163. I was confused since I had given the finest of Prime Meat to enjoy and expected something in the low 200s.
Turns out Rafikis huge arms bitchslapped the Carno aswell and we're stuck with only one 200+ bodyguard.
But: Forgive and forget, right? Wrong! You see, my biggest plan for today was taming a Tapejara. Why? Because I love how they look and I heard that they're pretty quick and can carry up to three people (which is awesome in a 4 people tribe). However, after not finding any of them near ground all day, I gave up and tamed a few more Raptors in hopes of finding a good one to breed with. And right when I wanted to return home to log off for the night, the most beautiful Tapejara appeared. It had a light blue body and really nice contrasts on its wings.
No matter the level, I had to have it. It would be the perfect surprise.
It was a 140.
Quick.. go home.. get Rafiki.. get Bolas.. return..
When I arrived it had just started wandering around on the ground and minding its business. After the most beautiful long-range Bola and a few Tranqs, it laid before me in all its glory, waiting to be ours. To my delight, a low level Alpha Raptor showed up, willing to donate a few pieces of its body to my cause. Rafiki made quick work of it and we returned to our new family member.
I open my inventory and start typing..

Something damages me, but I remember that it can only be some random bugs.. I'll take care of it in a second. I only took a few points of damage.

I THINK a clone Kershaw leek that I tried practicing acid washing the blade and left in just a leeetle too long. I got it from wish so just assuming it's a clone but honestly it's a near perfect copy. There's only one real aesthetic difference between this and my definitely legit leek which is the angle of pocket clip
