The new Daredevil series coming in Phase 5 is set to introduce (or reintroduce depending on how you look at it) a bunch of characters that make up the street-level crime fighting of the MCU.
Daredevil and Punisher are confirmed already for the series. Jessica Jones is extremely likely to return, and Mike Colter and Finn Jones are both back in the gym, possibly to reprise their roles as Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Echo will also presumably be appearing since Daredevil will be in her show. There are also rumors of White Tiger being introduced. Then of course we have Kingpin returning after seeing him in the Hawkeye series.
The introduction of all these characters in Born Again could be building towards Devil's Reign, in which Kingpin is elected Mayor and outlaws super heroes. I think his election will happen at the end of Daredevil, and his fall from power will actually happen in the next Spider-Man movie.
Why? First, Devil's Reign is too big and important to not be a movie. Second, we have it confirmed that Spider-Man is returning to the street side of the MCU with Daredevil, and this is an epic street side story. Third, it would be great fan service (which Marvel Studios seems obsessed with right now) to see Daredevil and Spider-Man team up and fight Kingpin. Even Vincent D'Onofrio said his end goal is to fight Spider-Man as Kingpin.
How could it happen? Spider-Man 4 should still focus mostly on Spider-Man and what Peter's life is like after the spell. However, that doesn't mean we can't get the Daredevil team-up scenes practically everyone wants throughout the movie and one final battle featuring all the Defenders as they fight against Kingpin and his lackeys.
I think this would be a perfect fit for Spider-Man 4. It could show him relearning to trust and rely on others again after everything that has happened. Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing, and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, disassociation, and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Brainspotting (BSP) makes use of the natural phenomenon of where you look affects how you feel through its use of relevant eye positions. Together, the therapist and client pair a fixed eye position and body sensation to an unresolved issue. This rapid, highly effective mind/body centered therapy technique appears to go beyond the cognitive awareness and connects one to their body’s innate wisdom to heal itself.
We all have experienced trauma in some capacity, whether it be from distressing events, adverse childhood experiences, unmet emotional needs, or abuse and neglect. These are called big “T” and little “t” and we all have them.
Brainspotting is a therapeutic tool for everyone with a variety of issues. If you are new to therapy and are looking for a way to change patterns of behavior, BSP can help resolve the emotional and physical pain that keeps you stuck in those patterns. If you have been in therapy before, but have the sense that your work could go deeper, BSP can take therapy to another level of healing. If you are uncomfortable with talking about your past traumatic experiences, this modality will enable you to heal without having to tell or retell your story. EMDR
EMDR, it’s a small acronym with a powerful meaning and an even larger ability to help you heal. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a protocol for processing traumatic or disturbing memories and leaving the client with a positive sense of self and of their future. It is a three-pronged approach to healing, focusing on past events, present day triggers, and future templates or “how I want to be living life.” It combines three theories: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – the interplay between thought, feeling and behavior; Psychodynamic – how your past impacts your present, and; Information Processing Analysis – how your brain takes in and categorizes information.
A processed memory is one that we “remember”, not necessarily one that we “feel”. When a disturbing experience occurs, and is not processed, it is stored with all the sights, smells, and sounds that accompany the event. When we recall the event, our bodies and emotions react as if the event is happening in real time, the feeling “washes” over us. Not only do we react physically to the recollection of the event, but we also have a negative thought about ourselves in the event (“I am not safe”, “I am not good enough”, “I should have done more”, “I cannot trust myself”). It is not simply the event that keeps us feeling stuck, but it is also that negative belief that we carry forward through life that continues to impact us. Let’s face it, we all have an inner critic. Are you able to maneuver around yours or does it prevent you from being the genuine person you know you are intended to be?
EMDR is a protocol developed by Francine Shapiro in the 1980s that assists clients with processing unprocessed memories. It does not matter if they are “T” or “t” (see the “Trauma” tab), the effect of these unprocessed memories can be equally impactful. The fear of needles, public speaking, or even driving a car after an accident can have the same level of disturbance, discomfort does not discriminate. EMDR utilizes bi-lateral stimulation (audio, tactile, visual) to “remind” the brain that the memory is a memory, not a current event, to process it, and allowing the client to change their negative self-thought to a positive one (“I can be safe now”, “I am good enough”, “I did all I could”, “I can trust myself now”).

Hi, I'm here looking for a partner to do one of these roles! These are roles with my partner playing a male, protecter type role. If you're more interested in playing a role where we are more equals, unfortunately, these are not for you. Perhaps another time, when I'm in the mood for a different type, but for now, these are kind of what I'm interested in. Now, this is lengthy, so please bear with me!
A little about me first, then what I'm looking for, and finally, the roles.
For now, you can call me Shortie and I'm 24. I've been roleplaying for around 10 years off and on, and I consider myself to be semi-literate to literate. Of course, I make mistakes with grammar, spelling, and whatnot like any other person, but I always do my best. Lately, I've found myself writing in third person, past tense, but I'm flexible. I like to write at least one paragraph per response, but it can change from response to response. I'll always try to at least write more than one sentence. I'll always try to respond at least once a day or let you know in advance.
I'm looking for a partner who will play a male character. All partners must be at least 24 years old and preferably no older than 28. I'd like my partner to be at least semi-literate and write at least a paragraph per response, though it can fluctuate over time. I also understand mistakes happen, so I'll try not to be too picky. I, at least, ask that you write similar to how I'm writing here. Proper capitalization and punctuation are a minimum for me. I'd prefer third person, but not required. Lastly, I ask that you respond at least once a day or let me know what's going on. Life comes first for both of us, so I'm just asking for mutual understanding there.
Okay! Now, onto my roles! Feel free to shoot me a direct chat or private message if you find one you want to talk about more. I'll be using my nickname as a placeholder until we come up with characters.
1) The Pyre
Shortie had a hard time making ends meet after college. Her parents passed just after high school, and the insurance policies went to tuition payments. She managed to graduate with her degree, but she's had a hard time finding a well-paying job she could use her English degree for. So, she started waitressing for a club near where she lived so she could walk to and from home. It was named The Pyre. She didn't know, however, that the club was owned by a well-known member of the mafia, you.
2) The Fallen
Every person has a guardian angel. An angel assigned at birth to make sure the soul lives their life until it was to meet its end. Most angels did well, ensuring that the soul did not die before its time. They couldn't interfere with anything else, no matter how traumatic to the soul. You are a guardian angel. You're tasked with watching over Shortie. Her time was coming to an end, when you decided enough was enough. You interfered, and then you fell.
3) The Deadline
Shortie was a young woman in your general education class in college. She was always silent in class, barely made it on time, and left as soon as possible. One day, she didn't show, and you seemed to be the only one to notice. You found out she had committed suicide, and you decided, out of guilt, the goodness of your heart, or perhaps something else, to go to her memorial. And there... you'll meet Death himself.
4) The Falls
Shortie recently moved away from the city and to a small town called Moonlight Falls, named for the beautiful waterfalls near the town that are most striking on the full moon. She finally got away from the big city and back to nature. She was a writer, primarily a copywriter, but she liked to write fiction as well. One night, she decided to go to the waterfalls, and there... she met you.
5) The Prince
Shortie lived in Lythos, a kingdom known for its libraries, its unquenchable desire for knowledge. While knowledge was important, it wasn't enough to protect the kingdom. Shortie was the youngest princess to the king and queen, and she was betrothed to the prince of a neighboring kingdom, Hykar, known for their fierce armies, navies, soldiers, and the warrior prince, the heir. She and the prince hadn't met until now. You have come home from a battle, and she is waiting with his family.

Ramadan just started yesterday, and I would like to share some brief thoughts on supporting Muslim students and faculty during Ramadan, hoping that this email would encourage others to educate us on how to best support them during their special occasions.
What is Ramadan?
Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims. It is a special occasion when we Muslims fast during the day (dawn to sunset) and stand in prayer during the night. Fasting here means abstaining from all types of food, intimacy (in its euphemistic meaning), and drinks (including water).
When is Ramadan?
Ramadan is the ninth month on the Islamic calendar. The Islamic calendar is lunar and travels backward through the solar calendar about 11 days per year. While this year Ramadan started March 23, Ramadan 2024 will tentatively begin March 10; Ramadan 2025 will begin March 1st, and so on. This means that Ramadan will happen during the academic years until approximately 2040.
How can you support Muslim students and faculty during Ramadan?
According to Pew Research Center (2016), there were 3.3 million Muslims in the States in 2015. I was not able to find a more recent statistic, but this could indicate that almost all universities have at least some Muslim students and/or faculty members. Supporting Muslim students during Ramadan can start with recognition. Saying “Happy Ramadan” to a Muslim student or faculty member can mean a lot. Learning about this occasion and sharing what you learned with your Muslim student/s can make a difference in their education experience. They will know that someone really cares about them. Also, having Muslim students write about their Ramadan experience can make them appreciate your class. In terms of class time, if you are teaching an evening class, please give students time to break their fast at sunset. If your class is late evening, be lenient with students who want to join congregational prayers at the mosque.
Pragmatically speaking, giving extensions on assignments can help some students who might find it difficult to complete assignments during the daylight while fasting. Ramadan ends with Eid Al Fitr Day (a celebration day). It is a big day for Muslims, a day of gathering, connectedness, praying, celebrating, and happiness. Many students are afraid to ask for an off day that day, but they appreciate it tremendously if you take the initiative. This year, Eid is happening Friday April 21, 2023 (depending on moon-sighting). I know it might be the finals weeks for some universities, but working with students to see what works for them can be astounding. Faculty members are no different. They might be responsible for families and community gatherings; some have important roles in their Muslim communities, and their schedules during Ramadan might be full. Not loading them with extra tasks can help them have a better Ramadan experience, especially towards the end of Ramadan. The last ten days and nights of Ramadan have special meanings to Muslims. They increase in prayer; some pray the whole night with little to no sleep, especially on these odd nights 21, 23, 25, 27, and 29. Please share any other helpful tips or ideas to support Muslim students and faculty members during Ramadan. Epic Games appears to have jumped the gun and revealed the "mystery game" that is set to unlock as a free offering in the Epic Games Store today. In a now-deleted Twitter post, the official Epic Games Store account let the cat out of the bag, saying Grand Theft Auto V will ride into town, and that once you claim it, the game is "yours to keep forever."
Free games on a weekly basis is one of major incentives Epic Games came up with to entice players (and by extension, developers as well) over to its digital distribution platform. Not without controversy, Epic Games also inks exclusive deals, whereby some titles are only available on the Epic Games Store for a period of time before heading over to Steam.
As far as the former goes, GTA V is a pretty big draw still today, five years after it was initially released to PC. It follows Death Coming, a fun and addictive little title that is still free at the time of this writing, until 11:00am ET (8:00am PT).

Some things have changed since we reviewed GTA V. One of the big draws these days is Grand Theft Auto Online, a free online multiplayer extension. In addition to being able to team up on missions, there are role playing servers that add a deeper element, for those who are interested in that sort of thing.

Hey everyone, question from a complete novice.
I have a 1999 Rav4 I inherited from a family member who had owned it since 1999. I don't think she was big on maintenence, and I haven't taken that very seriously in the few years I've had it. I typically only need it for short distance trips.
The oil light came on recently and I checked the dipstick. Sure enough I was low on oil so I quickly filled it with oil we had at home. Even with a full tank the light was still on and I realized I put in the wrong viscosity, 10w-30 when it takes 5w-30. I did an oil change and replaced the 10w for the 5w and got a new drain plug. I haven't changed the filter yet. That was at 99,657 miles.
I drove for a few minutes and no oil light was on. Then I fully stopped at a sign and saw the oil light flicker then become solid, which hadn't happened any other time I fully stopped in the trip up to that point. This continued to happen, then it would flicker and become solid just when I began braking, then when I just lightened up on the accelerator, and then even when I was full on accelerating and at all the previously mentioned states. Sometimes it would go from solid to flickering to solid without me changing acceleration.
I've taken the car out since and the same pattern repeats. Nothing for a few minutes, then the oil light when I stop, and so on. No leaks from the drain plug or the oil pan, no puddles or drips anywhere. I checked the dipstick and it's perfectly filled, no noticeable change in oil levels. I don't hear any concerning sounds, no metal grinding or bangs.
I'm going to get it looked at, but I'm curious if there's any insight into what the issue could be before I do. If it's likely a faulty sensor or something more serious. I also have an issue with the EGR system, I need to change the VSV but I haven't heard of the EGR and oil systems having much to do with each other.

Hi Reddit, so this isn’t some catastrophic situation but it has created a few serious arguments in my relationship lately so I thought I’d ask for some advice. My partner and I have been together for five years and we’re getting to the stage where we’re talking seriously about marriage, moving in together, since we both feel that we’re “ready.” It’s been mostly good and this is the part of the story where I hope you won’t judge me:
During the pandemic (2020) my partner and I were separated due to work for about a year. I blamed him for our separation because the travel ban was lifted about six months into the pandemic but he still did not want to come see me due to a variety of family/work issues but I saw it as him not wanting to be with me. There were other problems in our relationship and, yes, to my (now) regret, I started flirting with other guys, texting other guys, and rationalizing it all as innocent because I was not physically cheating on him (no, I never did, and it never went beyond talking). This went on for about six months during which I began treating my boyfriend increasingly worse (it was my own guilt) until I realized how I could destroy the relationship most important to me in my life and came clean to my boyfriend. Obviously he was furious, but three years down the road we’ve been able to work it out with a lot of hard work and we’re in a much better place.
However, and this is where our fights are currently centered, during that time I was not exactly nice when talking about my boyfriend with my best girl friends. I said angry things about him, revealed personal information that I know he would be uncomfortable with, and yes I also told him about the fact that I did this. I also told him that my two best friends encouraged me to break up with him because I was unhappy, and because of my own negative perspective at the time, they did not come away with the best image of my boyfriend.
Obviously, I also told my boyfriend about the discussions I had with my best friends and some of the unkind things they said about him and their encouraging me to break up with him, and since we ended up working things out, he still has an understandable dislike of them. Whenever I bring them up I can tell that he’s trying to be nice but he doesn’t want to talk about them, and he reacts badly to the idea of hanging out as a group – encouraging me to hang out with them alone. Recently I told him that they had started an OnlyFans together (no, I do not want any part of it though I don’t judge them for doing that – they both have a big internet presence and they want to profit from it) and he reacted very badly. He told me he thought they were a bad influence and I felt hurt that he was judging them so hard. I understand why he would feel that way towards them, but it’s also painful for me because I have known these two girls my entire life and it hurts to know I may not ever be able to “right this wrong.”
I know that in large part the only reason this problem was created was because of my behavior and actions. So I’m wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation before and has been able to repair things.
TL;DR: My two best friends and my boyfriend really don’t like each other (I played a big role in it) and I’m wondering if I can fix the situation.

So, for some background information, I've got a group of six. Of those six, two are longtime players, another is brand new, and three have never played with a veteran DM. So, while I still give a decent amount of leeway, I wanted to introduce some new gameplay elements they hadn't dealt with before. They were informed in session 0 that there were going to be some things that were dependent on their decisions (missable events, consequences of actions), and that it was important to keep notes, because I was not going to remind them of things if they didn't. For the most part, the players have been really great about this, and it's been fun watching them try new and creative things with the system as a result.
However, I've got one player, our bard, who is consistently dropping the ball. He doesn't take notes, which would be less of an issue if he could remember what he was told. Our players who are have been very strict about not being able to help him with knowledge their characters weren't present for, and the party was very nearly screwed out of something in chapter three because he does not remember important beats. As a result, as a DM, I'm trying to make it so his isn't the only character to see things if possible.
Unfortunately, last night's session was another one where he was the only character outside the Gralhund Villa who COULD see the nimblewright run off toward the mausoleum with the Stone of Golorr. And I did a big DM no no for myself by reminding him twice to share what he saw with the group when they were having a team meeting at TSM about the Stone of Golorr. The second time outright telling him to share about the nimblewright because the next part of the plot was dependent on it. (The party knew the nimblewright had the stone because the rogue told them he saw Lady Gralhund give it and a map to it. Through a tl;dr course of great character driven events, the bard and rogue were the only characters who made it to the Villa.) He made the decision to only tell the rogue about it after every other character left the room, and neither of them seemed to think it was urgent to follow the lead that night. At this point, I've figured the trail to the stone is going to be cold by the morning, with Crowelle ultimately being able to deliver the stone to Lord Cassalanter.
Now, in some ways as a DM, this is the best case scenario for me, because it puts me on the path to have the Cassalanters play a much bigger role than it looked like things were headed. Our neutral-leaning-lawful good rogue works for them and has not questioned their motives at all. (I leaned pretty heavily into the "Gralhunds bad" narrative, only bringing up the Cassalanters in reference to them being big on charity and worshipping a benevolent god, and the party ran with it.) But, I also want to do what I can to get them to the vault if possible.
I have a few ideas for how this could potentially play out but am curious if anyone else had something similar happen/how you resolved it in your game. Thank you!

LUVIC KÁVION, THE PAIN NULLIFIER

INFORMATION:

ROLE: Jungler Support
POSITION: Jungle.
SECONDARY BAR: Mana.
ADAPTIVE DAMAGE: Magical.

ABILITIES:

[P] AMULET OF ANETHESIA:

Luvic Kávion possess a special amulet, enchanted with his magic, that can delay pain. By long-pressing the left mouse click while pointing to a champion or a structure, Luvic can assign his amulet to that target, granting different effects:
• If the target is an ally: The amulet lingers on that target until the target is going to be slained / destroyed. At that time, delay all the damage that allied unit would take in the next 3 seconds.
• If the target is an enemy: Delay all damage that enemy would take in the upcoming 3 seconds. However, when the effect ends, amplify that delayed damage by 30%, stackable with all other forms of amplification.
After being used, the amulet returns to Luvic, putting the chosen target on a 90-second cooldown until they can receive the amulet again.

While the amulet is on Luvic, it is automatically assigned to him, if able.

[Q] MARKING SHOT:

This ability has 2 casts:
• First Cast: Targeting an area, Luvic deals 50 / 80 / 110 / 140 / 170 (+40% AP) magical damage to all enemies inside it and marks them.
• Second Cast: Luvic throws an energy missles forward, which explodes in an area upon impact and deals the same damage. If this second missle hits any marked enemy, it consumes the mark, stunning the target for 1 second and heal Luvic for 3% / 4% / 5% / 6% / 7% of his maximum Health for each mark consumed.

COOLDOWN: 8 seconds all Level.
COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 Mana.

[W] SPIRITUAL DELAY:

This ability has 2 casts:
• First Cast: Targeting a non-allied unit, Luvic steals 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 (+5% AP) Ability Haste from that enemy unit for 8 seconds. If that enemy's Ability Haste reaches 0, silence their Summoner's Spells for 3 seconds if that is a champion, or if that is a monster, delay all damage that Luvic would take from the surrounding monsters for 5 seconds instead.
• Second Cast: Only available if Luvic targets an enemy Champion on his first cast. Luvic then targets an allied champion, and transfers the stolen Ability Haste to them for the remaining duration.

COOLDOWN: 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 seconds.
COST: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 Mana.

[E] AMULET OF FORCE:

Deploy an Amulet of Force on the ground, which immediately marks all enemy champion within 1100 radius around itself for 5 seconds. If the enemies succesfully destroy the amulet within that specified time, it is safely defused without any consquences. Half this ability's cooldown will be refunded if that happens.
Otherwise, if the marked enemies are late and fail to destroy the amulet in 5 seconds, it explodes, pulling all marked enemies to its position and dealing 100 / 150 / 200 / 250 / 300 (+80% AP) magical damage

The flag has 3 HP, and takes 1 damage each time it is struck by an attack or damaging ability.
COOLDOWN: 21 / 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 seconds.
COST: 70 Mana all levels

[R] ANETHESIA GRAND ENCHANTMENT:

Luvic create a large magical zone in 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 seconds at the targeted position, delaying all the damage that any champion (including enemies) inside the zone has to take, until the zone disappears.
If Luvic enters the zone before it disappears, cleanse all delayed damage for both sides. Additionally, 30% / 40% / 50% of the delayed damage will be converted to a Shield for all allied champions standing in the zone. The shield last for 2 seconds.

Note: ALL delayed damage are cleansed, including delayed damage from his other abilities.

Otherwise, if he comes late, or is not in the zone when it expires, increase the delayed damage that both sides have to take by 20% / 25% / 30%.

COOLDOWN: 150 / 120 / 90 seconds
COST: 100 Mana all levels.

WHAT ASPECT IS THIS CHAMPION FITTED FOR THE CONTEST?

Luvic Kávion is designed with the implementation of "late" concepts - He can makes damage comes later than they should be. This will be very handy for his allies as it help them to endure the combat longer. Additionally, it also helps them to avoid burst damage, and can react appropriately (By using Zhonya, Shield, Heal or any protective methods they have) - and since all the delayed damage are clumped into one big chunk instead of being scattered to multiple hit, a correct W from Fiora could easily help her survive all of those delayed damage.
At the same time, when being used on the enemies, although it also delays the damage they would take, the cost is that they will take a heavily increased damage - which make bursting down an enemy become much faster !
Finally, Luvic has 2 multiple casts abilities, which fits in the second prom of this contest.
