2023.03.25 20:40 BrokenCondoms Update: Path causing PC to randomly restart
Previous post
Here So after trying all of the different things that people sent to me (Changing settings, installing/uninstalling xyz, ect.) there was only one thing left to try. I finally broke down and spent a little over $200 and bought and brand new corsair 1000 watt 80+ gold cert. power supply and installed it three days ago annnnnnnnnnnnd.... I am still getting the full PC restarts.
I can not think of any sort of reason for this to be happening. And only on path of exile no less. I am at a complete loss. I have spent close to $300 in just for this one game, and don't even have a cool MTX to show for it. For two days the game was fine and played like a dream. Then last night i couldn't play for more than 5 min without my whole PC just restarting.
If anyone has any sort of clue, i'm all ears.

2023.03.23 01:31 oxeimon What happens if I try to beastcraft a metamod on an item which already has a crafted mod?
Apparently beastcrafted metamods count as crafted mods (see
this post). This means that if I beastcraft a metamod, it won't let me benchcraft another mod onto the item without first removing the beastcraft.
What about the reverse? If I first benchcraft a mod, and then attempt to beastcraft a metamod, what will happen? Will I get an error? Will it overwrite the benchcrafted mod? To be specific, let's suppose I have full suffixes, and one crafted mod, and at least one open prefix. What will happen if I try to beastcraft a metamod?

2023.03.20 18:11 immutable_potato Totems, Conquerors, and Worthy Foes Oh My!
OK so I've been googling and this seems to come up a lot and always with different answers / opinions and as of yet I haven't found a GGG post addressing it directly.
I'm going to compile an exhaustive list of specific questions at the end just in case @Mark_GGG sees this post and wants to clear it up.
Conqueror
- 100% chance to Taunt on Hit. OK so we know the totems will taunt since they are the ones hitting. No confusion here.
- 10% reduced Damage taken if you've Taunted an Enemy Recently. OK so now this line says "you've". This is where we muddy the water. I don't think this should work at all. It shouldn't reduce your damage or the totems damage by 10% (since you are not hitting and the totem is not you). There are varying opinions on previous threads about this, and I think there always will be until we get confirmation from. Relevant post from Mark_GGG states "[Totems] are separate objects, but use your skills."
- Enemies Taunted by you deal 20% less Damage with Hits and Ailments against other targets. So again we have the "you" word. Since the totems are not you but separate objects, then I assume again this line does nothing when the totem hits. Neither you nor your totem receives the 20% less Damage with Hits... however if this "you" is not the "you you" then maybe it means you take 20% less damage with hits when your totems taunt the enemy. I suspect this is just wishful thinking though.
If my assumptions above are correct then conqueror has far less value than many people think. You can of course still hit the mob yourself to receive the 10% DR from #2 (like with frenzy), and possibly that means your totems take 20% less damage from hits only if they can be considered "other targets" though. So yeah, more questions.
Worthy Foe
- Enemies Taunted by you take 20% increased Damage. Again, since the totems are not "you" but separate objects, then I assume again this line does nothing when the totem hits but will work when you directly hit the mob yourself (frenzy etc.).
- Enemies Taunted by you cannot Evade Attacks. Again, since the totems are not "you" but separate objects, you will need accuracy unless you directly hit the mob yourself (frenzy etc.).
Knowing how this works is important for anyone playing Champion with totems. These nodes most likely have value in totem builds regardless, but you need to know whether you need to hit enemies directly to refresh taunt every few seconds. That could be a deal breaker for some of us (champ nodes are very competitive).
Now it's quite possible that there are subtleties or exceptions to the above, but afaik nothing proven or directly discussed by GGG.
Questions for GGG (hopium):
- Can totem hits proc 10% reduced Damage taken if you've Taunted an Enemy Recently? And if so, do the totems, the player, or both benefit from the 10% reduced Damage taken from the mob that was taunts?
- Can totem hits proc Enemies Taunted by you deal 20% less Damage with Hits and Ailments against other targets? And if so, does the player then receive 20% less Damage from hits by the mob that was taunted? If you hit the mob do your totems then receive 20% less Damage from hits from the mob you taunted?
- Can totem hits proc Enemies Taunted by you take 20% increased Damage and thus benefit from the 20% increased damage? If not, how about if you hit the mob? Do the totems inherit the 20% increased damage after you hit the mob?
- Can totem hits proc Enemies Taunted by you cannot Evade Attacks?
Previous Threads:
I hope you don't mind I editorialized the thread titles so I could tell them apart. There are many more previous discussions, and I'm happy to edit this post to add more if you'd like to link relevant material.

2023.03.19 23:41 OhIforgotmynameagain Help crafting in standard : recombinators
Is it still possible to do such a helm :
https://www.reddit.com/pathofexile/comments/vtqkab/my_phys_convertion_helmet_thanks_to_recombinators/ I tried about 20 times and it never rolled both incursion mods (trying cold and fire). Then I tried in poecraft and same, apparently i can't get both puhuarte on the same item ? I could not find any information regarding this except for influence mods which can't appear on the same item.
Am I just very unlucky or is it now impossible to achieve even in standard with the recombs ?

2023.03.19 12:16 Plebbit-User Coming off D4 reminds me how much I want a centered UI
I'm on a 42 inch standard widescreen (16:9) 4K monitor. The way the UI is anchored to the far left and far right puts it out of my field of view. This may be less of an issue at 24-27 inches, I don't remember because I moved from an 38 inch ultrawide to my current but on a display like mine it fucking sucks and I hate having to move my head to see vital information in my video games.
Centered should absolutely be an option for everybody, not just 21:9 ultrawide and the far left/far right HUD anchoring is frankly a relic from the 1990s where everyone was on a 15-17 inch 4:3 screen. We all have widescreens now.
I'm not asking for the far left/far right positions to be removed for anyone who likes it but for my situation it's a matter of accessibility and D4 just reminded me how much I prefer a centered HUD over PoE's implementation.
Edit: People keep saying this is my fault because I went too big but even if I downsized to a 32 inch monitor which have been on the market for 10+ years, I'd have to move my eyes if not my head to the far corners of the screen. Isn't Path of Exile on consoles where my screen size is standard too? This year at CES every manufacturer had large displays on showcase because they're incredibly popular. Not as niche as some of you think it is.
There are several good posts regarding this that I found in my search

2023.03.17 16:10 maclanegamer Monster Mod Filters
Wouldn't be nice if GGG added Monster Mod Filters, the ability to change the color of monsters mods, and the ability to hide them which aren't build breaking? This would result in much less visual clutter and actually warn us when we see a dangerous mod.
I stole this idea from this post:
