Do you all experience people waiting and watching for you to give up on a crane machine just so they can try to take over where you left off? This happened to me twice today and it was so frustrating because with all these eyes on me I get nervous. I had a whole family standing right next to me watching me try to drop the box for a figure. Then, I ran out of points and had to refill my card. They immediately took it afterwards.. so frustrating and just rubbed me the wrong way for some reason lol. Maybe I’m just sensitive and I understand a lot of people wait for others to give up.. but to physically stand next to me and watch.. felt uncomfy.. lol

I’ve always been a very logical person that rely’s on reason for most things but this doesn’t mean I don’t believe in miracles, I can accept that somethings just can’t be explained but I’ve had experiences since I was a young child up to young adulthood that I still can’t explain.
Starting with seeing a shadow of a person run across my walls in a room where I’m the only one, waking up to hearing voices whisper unintelligible words in my ears, seeing something peek out of a doorway and then moments later bang on my bedroom door, and most recently shadows at corner of my eyes and then a shadow looming over my shoulder before disappearing as soon as I blink. After these “encounters” I’m always left with this fear and dread, as well as the uncanny feeling of being watched even when I’m alone.
I’m still willing to accept these things as auditory or visual hallucinations but with the knowledge that before I was born and sometime immediately after my dad had been involved with the occult. I’m still skeptical but there’s a fear that maybe something dark attached itself to me.

A few months ago I went through my first breakup. It was a situation where one of us was falling out while the other was falling in. There was alot of crying from both of us, I was still wanting to try to be together while she just wasn’t able to. There were issues, messy ones, to do with her boy best friend and her coworkers saying she should get with him, which caused alot of arguments between us. Ff two or so weeks after the breakup, in which we decided to not speak to let feelings go, she checks on me after a nightmare of me dying. We talk a little and I find out she’s dating the boy bestfriend now. We weren’t dating anymore sure, but so long she always would say they were purely platonic, and calling me obsessed with it. They’d watch a movie together every week and she’d never let me see him, for fear of upsetting him knowing he liked her.
This igniting some burning malice in me which made me say such horrible things, things like “I fucking hate you, you ruined love” and “They were right, you’re a wh**e” and through a few rants she would apologize over and over, and when I lost my job soon after the breakup she was there to comfort me. One night the words became too much for her and she blocked me from everything, and to only speak to her through our mutual friends. It’s been a few months. It’s taken more time than I’d like it to have, but I’ve moved past the point of having her constantly in my head, and when she is I just miss the simple times.

This is probably the last time i post about these Spider-Man movies, I just wanted the most recent ideas in one place so I can link it. Here are my ideas for a new Tom Holland Spider-Man trilogy.
Spider-Man: Devil's Reign
This movie takes place after the conclusion of Daredevil Born Again, picking up right after Kingpin is elected mayor and puts a ban on superheroes, putting Spider-Man on the run from the law. After he repeatedly hinders Fisk's criminal activities, Fisk has Martin Li, CEO of Horizon Labs, develop the Scorpion suit for Mac Gargan to take down Spider-Man. Coincidentally, Martin Li is also the owner of the charity organization FEAST, where Peter volunteers. Peter is also a student at ESU, and has a friend named Alistair Smythe. Spider-Man faces off against the Scorpion and is nearly defeated when Daredevil and Jessica Jones come to his aid. Daredevil explains that Kingpin is using his position of mayor to monopolize crime in New York, and asks for Spider-Man's help stopping him. Spider-Man agrees and they decide to track down Scorpion while Jessica looks for a way to prove Kingpin's guilt. Meanwhile, Gargan convinces Li to develop new Shocker gauntlets for Herman Schultz in order to combat Spider-Man and Daredevil. Shocker and Scorpion confront the two heroes, and are able to nearly defeat them before Spider-Man and Daredevil escape. Daredevil notes that they'll need more help if they're going to take down Kingpin. Just then, Daredevil gets a call from Jessica. With the help of Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, she has found incriminating evidence on Kingpin. Spider-Man and Daredevil head to Nelson & Murdock to discuss how to take down Fisk. Karen and Foggy send the evidence to news outlets, while Daredevil calls in fellow vigilantes to help in the fight. Ultimately, Spider-Man leads the Defenders against Kingpin, Shocker and Scorpion, defeating them and freeing New York. The movie ends with Peter meeting Felicia Hardy, a fellow student at ESU. Mid credits scene introduces Miles Morales, a volunteer at FEAST. Post credits scene shows Martin Li in his office as a flash of blue lightning is seen in his eyes.
Spider-Man: Back in Black
This movie is after Secret Wars, in which Spider-Man gets the black suit. Peter still attends ESU, and has taken a mentor-like role to Miles Morales at FEAST. Following Kingpin's defeat, a new player has entered the criminal underground, the elusive Mister Negative. Between Negative's Inner Demons, the Maggia, and the Karnelli crime family, NYC is being torn to pieces. Peter starts hearing voices when on patrol, and starts getting terrible nightmares. He's grown close with Felicia and Alistair at ESU, though both note that he's been acting strangely as of late. Ned and MJ return to New York for the summer and soon run into Spider-Man. They both begin to feel as though something is missing in their lives, and Ned decides to try to uncover Spider-Man's identity. He turns to Martin Li, whom he interns for at Horizon Labs, and convinces him to develop tech based on the Green Goblin in order to unmask Spider-Man, as Ned remembers him taking something important from the web slinger. Meanwhile, Spider-Man chases the elusive Black Cat. She tempts him to help her steal money from the Maggia, and the voice he's been hearing also encourages him to do it. He decides to get checked out by the Fantastic Four, but when Reed tells him the black suit is a living symbiote, Peter refuses to get rid of it. Back at Horizon, Li's head researcher, Spencer Smythe, has developed a glider, weaponry, and a disguise for Ned to use and refers to it as the Hobgoblin tech. Peter comes to realize Black Cat is his friend Felicia Hardy, and reveals to her his identity. Suddenly, the two are ambushed by the Hobgoblin. Peter is enraged at the sight of the goblin's technology, and nearly kills him before removing his mask to see that he was Ned all along. Black Cat, who was harmed by Peter as she was trying to stop him from killing Ned, leaves New York citing that Spider-Man is too dangerous. Peter, having almost killed his former best friend, calls the Fantastic Four who help him remove the symbiote and take it into custody. Peter returns to his apartment to find MJ waiting at his door, and the movie ends. Post credits scene shows Ned entering a deal with the government to join the military instead of going to prison.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
This movie starts right where the previous one left off. MJ talks to Peter trying to remember him and figure out what's missing from her life, but fails. She returns to MIT, leaving Peter alone again. Two years pass, and the gangs tearing apart New York have reached a breaking point. Martin Li has the Chameleon steal the symbiote from the Baxter Building, and gives it to Mac Gargan knowing that no one hates Spider-Man as much as he does. Gargan, now the new host of the Venom symbiote, speaks to Li at Horizon. Li asks Venom to prevent Spider-Man's intervention in the Demon's activities and steer his crusade towards his competition, the Maggia. Li implants a sonic resonance chip in Venom allowing Li to punish him if he disobeys. Spider-Man is seen foiling the Inner Demons' criminal activity in the city, but he catches a glimpse of a dark figure watching him. When he turns to look at it, it's gone. Peter grows increasingly paranoid and is led to believe that the symbiote has found a new host. He continues his fight against the Demons, but sees the dark figure again and chases after it. It leads him to a Maggia lab. Spider-Man takes out the goons there, but is unable to find Venom. He does however, find out that the Maggia has uncovered Mister Negative's identity: Martin Li. Li is then seen with Miles at Horizon giving him a tour. Suddenly, an alarm goes off. Li rushes out, and Miles sneaks off into a back room where he discovers a lab that has created a mutated spider. Miles is bitten by the spider before he rushes out of the lab. Outside Horizon, Silvermane and members of the Maggia appear and expose Mister Negative. Members of the Inner Demons soon arrive to back him up, and an all out war begins. Just as Li is about to deal the finishing blow to Silvermane, Spider-Man intervenes and takes him down. That's when Venom descends from a rooftop and thanks Spider-Man for taking care of Li. Venom then tries to kill him, though Spider-Man is low on web fluid and is forced to retreat. Venom then takes MJ, who'd just graduated MIT and returned to New York, hostage, forcing Spider-Man to defeat him once and for all. He's reunited with MJ, and they share a kiss that causes her to remember everything. We then see a scene where Peter encounters Miles and his spider sense goes off, suggesting that something is up with Miles. Peter asks him if something's different, and Miles reveals his spider powers. Peter shows him what he can do, and the movie ends. Mid credit scene shows Horizon Labs under investigation by the DODC, and businessman Roderick Kingsley is put in charge of the company. Post credit scene shows the symbiote in possession of the US government as they consider giving it to an injured Ned Leeds.

Between Negative's Inner Demons, the Maggia, and the Karnelli crime family, NYC is being torn to pieces. Peter starts hearing voices when on patrol, and starts getting terrible nightmares. He's grown close with Felicia and Alistair at ESU, though both note that he's been acting strangely as of late. Ned and MJ return to New York for the summer and soon run into Spider-Man. They both begin to feel as though something is missing in their lives, and Ned decides to try to uncover Spider-Man's identity. He turns to Martin Li, whom he interns for at Horizon Labs, and convinces him to develop tech based on the Green Goblin in order to unmask Spider-Man, as Ned remembers him taking something important from the web slinger. Meanwhile, Spider-Man chases the elusive Black Cat. She tempts him to help her steal money from the Maggia, and the voice he's been hearing also encourages him to do it. He decides to get checked out by the Fantastic Four, but when Reed tells him the black suit is a living symbiote, Peter refuses to get rid of it. Back at Horizon, Li's head researcher, Spencer Smythe, has developed a glider, weaponry, and a disguise for Ned to use and refers to it as the Hobgoblin tech. Peter comes to realize Black Cat is his friend Felicia Hardy, and reveals to her his identity. Suddenly, the two are ambushed by the Hobgoblin. Peter is enraged at the sight of the goblin's technology, and nearly kills him before removing his mask to see that he was Ned all along. Black Cat, who was harmed by Peter as she was trying to stop him from killing Ned, leaves New York citing that Spider-Man is too dangerous. Peter, having almost killed his former best friend, calls the Fantastic Four who help him remove the symbiote and take it into custody. Peter returns to his apartment to find MJ waiting at his door, and the movie ends. Post credits scene shows Ned entering a deal with the government to join the military instead of going to prison.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
This movie starts right where the previous one left off. MJ talks to Peter trying to remember him and figure out what's missing from her life, but fails. She returns to MIT, leaving Peter alone again. Two years pass, and the gangs tearing apart New York have reached a breaking point. Martin Li has the Chameleon steal the symbiote from the Baxter Building, and gives it to Mac Gargan knowing that no one hates Spider-Man as much as he does. Gargan, now the new host of the Venom symbiote, speaks to Li at Horizon. Li asks Venom to prevent Spider-Man's intervention in the Demon's activities and steer his crusade towards his competition, the Maggia. Li implants a sonic resonance chip in Venom allowing Li to punish him if he disobeys. Spider-Man is seen foiling the Inner Demons' criminal activity in the city, but he catches a glimpse of a dark figure watching him. When he turns to look at it, it's gone. Peter grows increasingly paranoid and is led to believe that the symbiote has found a new host. He continues his fight against the Demons, but sees the dark figure again and chases after it. It leads him to a Maggia lab. Spider-Man takes out the goons there, but is unable to find Venom. He does however, find out that the Maggia has uncovered Mister Negative's identity: Martin Li. Li is then seen with Miles at Horizon giving him a tour. Suddenly, an alarm goes off. Li rushes out, and Miles sneaks off into a back room where he discovers a lab that has created a mutated spider. Miles is bitten by the spider before he rushes out of the lab. Outside Horizon, Silvermane and members of the Maggia appear and expose Mister Negative. Members of the Inner Demons soon arrive to back him up, and an all out war begins. Just as Li is about to deal the finishing blow to Silvermane, Spider-Man intervenes and takes him down. That's when Venom descends from a rooftop and thanks Spider-Man for taking care of Li. Venom then tries to kill him, though Spider-Man is low on web fluid and is forced to retreat. Venom then takes MJ, who'd just graduated MIT and returned to New York, hostage, forcing Spider-Man to defeat him once and for all. He's reunited with MJ, and they share a kiss that causes her to remember everything. We then see a scene where Peter encounters Miles and his spider sense goes off, suggesting that something is up with Miles. Peter asks him if something's different, and Miles reveals his spider powers. Peter shows him what he can do, and the movie ends. Mid credit scene shows Horizon Labs under investigation by the DODC, and businessman Roderick Kingsley is put in charge of the company. Post credit scene shows the symbiote in possession of the US government as they consider giving it to an injured Ned Leeds.

2023.03.26 00:47 DysfunctionalReddit Den Mother fight really highlights the flaws with D4's combat
This fight in "Light's Watch" is impossible on my otherwise decent character without a significant respec, and it's due to the same dodging issues I noticed since the start of the game, but they weren't drawn out enough to interrupt progression until now. Unavoidable attacks are extremely not fun.
This is primarily for characters with more of a melee focus, but regardless of build, this crops up in many places.
• I needed to be in melee range to generate resources for distant attacks, because there's virtually zero adds in the Den Mother fight. → Boss's attacks are 100% unavoidable in melee range even with Evade + Legendary MS boots. On experimental attempts where you just try circling a boss as fast as you can, you will still get hit every single time, because the attacks happen too fast, their hitboxes are too big, characters are too slow, and the boss basically has no downtime where you can sneak in a couple safe hits. I'm pretty sure Den Mother is also immune to Knockback, Slow, and Immobility, so that's nice. You shouldn't be forced to spec a build focusing distant attacks + MS just to have a fighting chance with core combat mechanics used throughout the whole game.
• Evade distance is very short, can only be used once every 5 seconds, and has no i-frames, so even if you time it right, and aim for the right spot, you're probably still going to take a hit, especially thanks to shitboxes + latency thrown in on top.
• Even if this boss had adds, or if I had an extra skill to regen lots of health outside of potions to "outlast" the boss, they're just shitty workarounds to the core issue at hand: Dodging SUCKS in D4.
This design issue was prevalent enough where I will not touch D4 again after experiencing that—I don't care if it's a "beta" or it's heavily mitigated with certain builds. Regardless of how this is criticism is received, there's nothing to improve here as a player, there is no "git gud", it's just bad design that pigeonholes you into certain builds, further limiting the already-low build diversity, so why the hell would I bother playing? Den Mother's fight is a great example of what not to do when designing combat interactions.
Also, D4 has serious performance (GPU utilization) issues even with the latest drivers & properly tweaked settings. It's horrendous at managing VRAM at least, and when VRAM maxes out (which happens with ease), the game slows to a crawl for no good reason, and of course it'll cook your GPU the whole time regardless of how it's performing. Many settings don't even apply properly until you close & relaunch the game. Lastly, why is 4x AA a forced minimum? It's much less necessary at higher resolutions, it's demanding, and in some cases it arguably looks worse as it may just create a "blurred" effect to an otherwise clean render. I digress as I'm done regardless—Peace!

So I finally got around to watching the series on Amazon. It's such a different experience watching it now as opposed to if I had when it first came out. The success of this season changes how it feels watching. You see the roots of what makes us successful this year in last year's performances. The painful moments are still bad (loss to Spurs late on obv) but knowing where we are now, it feels like a necessary part of the journey.
Also, the behind-the-scenes stuff about Auba's exit was so interesting = how Arteta said early on, he's gone. And the down-to-the-deadline timing of his move to Barca. And a year later, it was clearly the right decision. Auba is a nomad now and Arsenal are clearly better off without him.

i am walking with God daily but I dont know why everytime I feel the holy spirit even in the slightest I feel like crying out of joy. For example earlier today I was in my room doing chores while watching the discoveries of Ron Wyatt and how he found the blood of Jesus and I had to pause everything cause I got very teary eyed and I felt the need to thank God for his sacrifice. Later I was in the car listening to music hearing the lyrics "God is fighting for us pushing back the Pushing back the darkness Lighting up the Kingdom That cannot be shaken In the Name of Jesus wnemy's defeated" and I also felt like crying but I didnt because I was with my mom. Then right now I was looking up "short beautiful bible verses" because I'm making some shirts for our church's youth ministry (I am also a teen) and quickly reading the simple short verses also made me teary eyed. I am not all the way there in my relationship with God so I don't have much discernment to know if i'm wronguflly falling into an emotionalist way of being or if this is a normal thing people do when feeling the holy spirit. I am also not depressed in the slightest I am actually at my happiest because I came a long way from who I used to be.

So I'm trying to code 4 different radio button options within a form.
When a particular radio button is selected and you enter submit or next to go to the next stage in the 'multi step form' I want that next page to be tailored to the answer that was selected.
Below is my code and you will be able to see that the second page I've created will be true for the first radio button but false for all the others. The last three are yet to be created.
I hope I've explained my issue in a simple way! Any and all help will be deeply appreciated! Cheers!

So first of. Great Movie.
I loved all of the animations and the animal Design so so much. Also just all of the familiy dynamics and the inculsivity and great movie!
BUT
Just some random thoughts which I have had since watching the movie.

Question also being where did the turtle? Obviously the even bigger and more glaring question is how did the people get on top of the turtle? And when you see the erath/earth like planet at the end. Are ther other continents? I can't see other ones. Is this planet earth just maybe in the past or distant future? Or ist the planet maybe still a part of the turtles body?
You see the size of the town on the back of the turtoise right? How high is the population actually this could give us information as to how old this civilisation is? Thus, maybe esitmating a time in which the movie is set.
In some scence (for example the first look around town) they actually seem to have a bigger population. At least bigger then in Encanto. But seeing the end of the movie it is just this one city. You also see that on top of this main town there seem to be about 3 smaller villages. I can't quite estimate sizes but when considering the following questions we could only estimate: a small city has between 5.000 to 20.000 and the smaller villages maybe only several hundred.
So many generations were there? You could estimate it from the statues at the towns square. There are 6 statues question being does each one of them represent the biggest figure in their generation? They seem to be quite advanced for only 6 generations. But then these statues could also be farther apart then Searcher and Jaeger...
Just some random thoughts to this overall question of the movie. Maybe someone has more input ^^

2023.03.26 00:44 Geogator My take on M in Emesis Blue
This is a wall of text about the "Emesis Blue" SFM. This wall of text should be a spoiler warning of its own.
So I watched the film, and yes it did screw with my head, as it probably did with everyone else's. At first, I was divided on whether M is Fritz Ludwig or not, but upon rewatching it, I think he is. More specifically, M is future Ludwig. Please bear with me.
Some assumptions I made in order to reach this conclusion:
1) Not all time loops are resolved in the film. We know that an unexplained anomaly causes characters (mainly Soldier and Ludwig to experience a time loop). These time loops cause characters to interact with the past/future. When I use the term "resolved time loop", I mean that we see the time loop anomaly from the perspective of a character, and afterward, we explicitly see the character that is time-traveling (for instance the soldier watching himself speak with demoman, and then soldier speaking with demoman watching the observer (40:00-45:00). An unresolved time loop, therefore, is a character traveling into the past, but the film not explicitly stating it.
Why? Because despite the time loops, we follow the character's story in a linear progression, so if the time loop happens, but a character chronologically time-travels after the ending of the film, then we haven't experienced the resolution.
2) The fact that Ludwig heals fatal injuries is not necessarily an effect of the Respawn Machine. I might get a lot of backlash for this, but I think mainly Ludwig displays this ability. The dead Heavy is seen to be brought back to life by the RED Medic, the Conaghers don't reappear (based on my memory) except for their presence in the afterlife (the Demoman dying in the laBorAtoRy, and the Medic dying in the car crash at the end). The Pyro literally keeps being on fire after his resurection. literally literallyThe Sniper appears to be suffering from his fatal injuries. when he comes back. Only the Heavy makes a return, but this might be an effect of RED Medic's injection into him (plus the burn damage remains as we see when the building collapses on him).
Speculation: Ludwig might be able to heal fatal injuries either due to his in-game ability to heal, or due to the Emesis Diazepam (disguised as Valium) that he is seen taking. Other characters that have it in their possession are: Jerma (11:42) and Archibald (1:16:13). We do not know how long the effects of Diazepam need to fully wear off in the movie nor can I remember when exactly the characters are seen taking it. This is just speculation and I might be wrong.
3) The 1% malfunction of the Respawn machine is bringing the mercs back to life, but without fixing any of the fatal injuries. This means that the mercs are alive, and still carry the injuries that killed them in the first place. The respawn machine might therefore always revive them in this state, because otherwise, one could kill themselves to come out ok afterward (speculation).This can be seen when Sniper is revived because his leg is still missing (seen clearly in 1:19:30) from the rocket soldier fired at him (36:50). Pyro is on fire when he is brought back by the respawn machine (1:10:45) because Corporal's Intelligence modifier is apparently -4 (1:07:30). Possibly even RED Demoman can be placed in this scenario as he appears to be having a severed arm but displays no symptoms of blood loss, shock or even pain, though this information is not explicitly conveyed. Even Jerma can be placed in this category, because he was discharged due to brain damage after exiting the respawn machine (18:23), which can also be seen as an injury on his head (1:09:41). This might not be the case for Jerma as the injury's source is not explicitly stated and might be from Ludwig's examination or unrelated.
With the assumptions out of the way, here is how I believe that Fritz Ludwig is the same as M: M is the result of Dr. Ludwig encountering the 1% error of the Respawn Machine.
First of all, why:
- Jerma successfully identifies Ludwig as his kidnapper, even though he came to save him. We know that Jerma has been suffering from brain damage, hence why his contract is terminated, but from what we can see, he is not hallucinating and is a reliable narrator (meaning that everything he experiences can be trusted). This includes him identifying Ludwig as his kidnapper, even though Ludwig has no recollection of it.
- The Corporal finds a hacksaw at the crime scene, which might be by far the weakest piece of evidence, since anyone could have planted it.
- Ludwig literally encounters a mutilated version of himself when experiencing a time loop anomaly that brings him to Jerma's house.
- When Pyro is seen kidnapping Jerma, there HAS to be someone else holding his mom's severed head at the other side of the room.
- The way M is holding head of Jerma's mom (12:25) is similar to how Ludwig holds Pyro's head when he wants to distract Sniper from killing Soldier (1:20:00)
- Soldier has premonitions (e.g. seeing the Corporal catch on fire), and one of them illustrates RED Demoman stating that "a true enemy has yet to reveal himself"
- Ludwig is known to be mentally unstable as he frequently hallucinates, and interacts with himself in the mirror (16:00 and 58:45). So my opinion is that M is a secondary personality of Ludwig.
I know that one can argue that there are places where Ludwig himself is not seen as M, or that Ludwig had no motivation to commit M's acts of violence. So here is how:
- We see that Ludwig is killed at the end of the film by crashing his vehicle. His fatal injuries (1:46:29) are very similar to how M appears to be (1:10:36). The eyes of both appear as bullet wounds, and M is missing some teeth, which can be due to the fact that Ludwig is seen smiling when killed which might be due to the fact that he smacked his mouth on the steering wheel).
- Ludwig then respawns on respawn machine (I believe that it's him because the silhouette shows the features of a Medic when it fades to black). However, Ludwig experiences the 1% effect, which causes the respawn machine to respawn him as is: with his fatal injuries. Although not explicitly stated, I believe that the machine can also transfer the patient's mental state at the 1%, and since Ludwig is hallucinating when he crashes, then this might indicate that the M personality fragment is taking over, thus causing Ludwig to respawn ONLY with the personality that is M.
- Speculation: After the film ends, since only M has transferred to the respawned Ludwig, he dons the plague doctor mask, and goes through unresolved time loops to cause events in the film such as killing Jerma's mom and holding her head, and holding the Corporal at gunpoint to steal the briefcase and Heavy's body
Things that I still can't put my finger on:
- Who the Conaghers are speaking to on the phone, and why has that person kidnapped Jerma? I speculate that it might be M, because he knows Jerma is there and has escaped, meaning that he might have already experienced the opening of the coffin as Ludwig.
- Who shoots Soldier, causing him to fall (1:28:30). I genuinely don't know; at first we see a silhoutte swearing a soldier hat, then we see that the shooter might be wearing attire similar to how Ludwig appears to be when he pops out of the coffin

So I watched the film, and yes it did screw with my head, as it probably did with everyone else's. At first, I was divided on whether M is Fritz Ludwig or not, but upon rewatching it, I think he is. More specifically, M is future Ludwig. Please bear with me.
Some assumptions I made in order to reach this conclusion:
1) Not all time loops are resolved in the film. We know that an unexplained anomaly causes characters (mainly Soldier and Ludwig to experience a time loop). These time loops cause characters to interact with the past/future. When I use the term "resolved time loop", I mean that we see the time loop anomaly from the perspective of a character, and afterward, we explicitly see the character that is time-traveling (for instance the soldier watching himself speak with demoman, and then soldier speaking with demoman watching the observer (40:00-45:00). An unresolved time loop, therefore, is a character traveling into the past, but the film not explicitly stating it.
Why? Because despite the time loops, we follow the character's story in a linear progression, so if the time loop happens, but a character chronologically time-travels after the ending of the film, then we haven't experienced the resolution.
2) The fact that Ludwig heals fatal injuries is not necessarily an effect of the Respawn Machine. I might get a lot of backlash for this, but I think mainly Ludwig displays this ability. The dead Heavy is seen to be brought back to life by the RED Medic, the Conaghers don't reappear (based on my memory) except for their presence in the afterlife (the Demoman dying in the laBorAtoRy, and the Medic dying in the car crash at the end). The Pyro literally keeps being on fire after his resurection. literally literallyThe Sniper appears to be suffering from his fatal injuries. when he comes back. Only the Heavy makes a return, but this might be an effect of RED Medic's injection into him (plus the burn damage remains as we see when the building collapses on him).
Speculation: Ludwig might be able to heal fatal injuries either due to his in-game ability to heal, or due to the Emesis Diazepam (disguised as Valium) that he is seen taking. Other characters that have it in their possession are: Jerma (11:42) and Archibald (1:16:13). We do not know how long the effects of Diazepam need to fully wear off in the movie nor can I remember when exactly the characters are seen taking it. This is just speculation and I might be wrong.
3) The 1% malfunction of the Respawn machine is bringing the mercs back to life, but without fixing any of the fatal injuries. This means that the mercs are alive, and still carry the injuries that killed them in the first place. The respawn machine might therefore always revive them in this state, because otherwise, one could kill themselves to come out ok afterward (speculation).This can be seen when Sniper is revived because his leg is still missing (seen clearly in 1:19:30) from the rocket soldier fired at him (36:50). Pyro is on fire when he is brought back by the respawn machine (1:10:45) because Corporal's Intelligence modifier is apparently -4 (1:07:30). Possibly even RED Demoman can be placed in this scenario as he appears to be having a severed arm but displays no symptoms of blood loss, shock or even pain, though this information is not explicitly conveyed. Even Jerma can be placed in this category, because he was discharged due to brain damage after exiting the respawn machine (18:23), which can also be seen as an injury on his head (1:09:41). This might not be the case for Jerma as the injury's source is not explicitly stated and might be from Ludwig's examination or unrelated.
With the assumptions out of the way, here is how I believe that Fritz Ludwig is the same as M: M is the result of Dr. Ludwig encountering the 1% error of the Respawn Machine.
First of all, why:
- Jerma successfully identifies Ludwig as his kidnapper, even though he came to save him. We know that Jerma has been suffering from brain damage, hence why his contract is terminated, but from what we can see, he is not hallucinating and is a reliable narrator (meaning that everything he experiences can be trusted). This includes him identifying Ludwig as his kidnapper, even though Ludwig has no recollection of it.
- The Corporal finds a hacksaw at the crime scene, which might be by far the weakest piece of evidence, since anyone could have planted it.
- Ludwig literally encounters a mutilated version of himself when experiencing a time loop anomaly that brings him to Jerma's house.
- When Pyro is seen kidnapping Jerma, there HAS to be someone else holding his mom's severed head at the other side of the room.
- The way M is holding head of Jerma's mom (12:25) is similar to how Ludwig holds Pyro's head when he wants to distract Sniper from killing Soldier (1:20:00)
- Soldier has premonitions (e.g. seeing the Corporal catch on fire), and one of them illustrates RED Demoman stating that "a true enemy has yet to reveal himself"
- Ludwig is known to be mentally unstable as he frequently hallucinates, and interacts with himself in the mirror (16:00 and 58:45). So my opinion is that M is a secondary personality of Ludwig.
I know that one can argue that there are places where Ludwig himself is not seen as M, or that Ludwig had no motivation to commit M's acts of violence. So here is how:
- We see that Ludwig is killed at the end of the film by crashing his vehicle. His fatal injuries (1:46:29) are very similar to how M appears to be (1:10:36). The eyes of both appear as bullet wounds, and M is missing some teeth, which can be due to the fact that Ludwig is seen smiling when killed which might be due to the fact that he smacked his mouth on the steering wheel).
- Ludwig then respawns on respawn machine (I believe that it's him because the silhouette shows the features of a Medic when it fades to black). However, Ludwig experiences the 1% effect, which causes the respawn machine to respawn him as is: with his fatal injuries. Although not explicitly stated, I believe that the machine can also transfer the patient's mental state at the 1%, and since Ludwig is hallucinating when he crashes, then this might indicate that the M personality fragment is taking over, thus causing Ludwig to respawn ONLY with the personality that is M.
- Speculation: After the film ends, since only M has transferred to the respawned Ludwig, he dons the plague doctor mask, and goes through unresolved time loops to cause events in the film such as killing Jerma's mom and holding her head, and holding the Corporal at gunpoint to steal the briefcase and Heavy's body
Things that I still can't put my finger on:
- Who the Conaghers are speaking to on the phone, and why has that person kidnapped Jerma? I speculate that it might be M, because he knows Jerma is there and has escaped, meaning that he might have already experienced the opening of the coffin as Ludwig.
- Who shoots Soldier, causing him to fall (1:28:30). I genuinely don't know; at first we see a silhoutte swearing a soldier hat, then we see that the shooter might be wearing attire similar to how Ludwig appears to be when he pops out of the coffin
- Why does Jerma appear to be a monster? New Mexico crash of a UFO in 1945, fully two years before the well-known incident at Roswell and the famous sighting by pilot Kenneth Arnold in 1947. The historic event observed by three witnesses, two of whom are still living, describe the circumstances of the crash, with details of the recovery of a nearly-intact flying vehicle and its occupants by an Army detachment. Just weeks before, the first detonation of a nuclear weapon in human history, known as the Trinity test, occurred on July 16, 1945 in Alamogordo New Mexico, just 20 miles away from the supposed crash site.
The Rendlesham Forest incident, 1980
In 1980, several US Air Force personnel stationed at RAF Bentwaters in England reported seeing strange lights and a craft in nearby Rendlesham Forest. The witnesses reported that the craft emitted a beam of light that appeared to be examining the surrounding area. Some witnesses have claimed that they were given telepathic messages, warning them of environmental destruction.
