I'm planning on making my first pc ever soon, and I already have a list of parts. The problem is, since I'm completely new to this, I have no Idea whether all of these parts will work well or even function together, so I was hoping some people who are experienced in this field could tell me if I need a different part, or recommend a different one. 2023.03.25 22:34 DayCool710 Townhomes/Houses for Rent
Hello, my wife and I are considering a move to the Columbia area, but want to understand what housing options we will have first.
We’re looking for a 2+ bed 1.5+ bath townhome or house to rent for under $1500. It would need to be pet friendly (2 retrievers), which is why we are looking for a townhome or house… easy access to grass/yard.
So far from scanning Reddit and Google, I’ve found:
West Wind Townhomes Congaree Villas Gleneagles townhomes Turner properties (for houses).
Looking for any other recommendations that match the above criteria. Safer areas preferred, as I haven’t done research on the safe/unsafe areas… so I wouldn’t know yet 🙂
Any insight or recommendations is greatly appreciated!

2023.03.25 22:25 SouthNagsHead Murdaugh Estate Auction Items are Now on Ebay
| Law & Crime- Items from Murdaugh estate pop up on eBay: Report (msn.com) “A Murdaugh Crossbow” — supposedly the one seen in police body camera footage at the property — and taken from the Moselle property gunroom is listed with an opening bid of $14,000. A jacket belonging to Alex Murdaugh is listed starting at $275. https://preview.redd.it/udis7u2rdypa1.png?width=2065&format=png&auto=webp&s=47cc71c0674e69d17101687ad51ccfb2b1a85d24 Items from the Murdaugh family’s Moselle home are up for auction in Georgia. (Screengrab from FOX News 18 Savannah) Those are just some of the items purported to be from Murdaugh’s Moselle estate that are popping up on eBay a day after a large auction was held that the sellers confirmed included Murdaugh family items, South Carolina’s ABC4 reported. In addition to the crossbow and jacket, a decoy duck is also listed on the site, with a current bid of $82. Related Coverage: An auction house in Georgia was selling a collection of furniture and other items from the Murdaugh family estate on Thursday and posted photos on social media that appeared to show some of the Murdaugh items. “Here is a glimpse into a prominent estate picked up in Colleton County, South Carolina,” the post reads. “We still have a lot of setting up to do, but we can’t wait to see everyone Thursday night!” The items up for sale have been culled from the family’s former hunting lodge, known locally as “Moselle.” Would-be buyers bid on a red leather chair and ottoman set, a red leather sofa, a collection of monogrammed pillows, a series of green-and-brown dishes with rabbit and deer decorations on them, lamps made out of dead turtle shells, and several animal skulls and heads including deer antlers, longhorn horns, and a trophy mount, according to images posted by the auction house. The photographs of the pillows, in particular, offer tell-tale evidence of who they formerly belonged to. The monograms show the letters “MMB” in succession. Monogramming standards often place the final initial in the middle of a group of three, and the “M” in the center appears to be the largest letter on each embroidered pillow. Margaret “Maggie” Kennedy Branstetter Murdaugh, 52, was killed along with her youngest son, Paul Terry Murdaugh, 22, at Moselle on June 7, 2021. The pair were repeatedly shot to death near the dog kennels, several yards away from the main house, by Richard Alexander “Alex” Murdaugh, 54, using at least two long guns. Earlier this month, Alex Murdaugh was sentenced to two consecutive life sentences by Judge Clifton Newman for the murder of his wife and son. He is currently in the process of appealing his conviction. submitted by SouthNagsHead to MurdaughFamilyMurders [link] [comments] |

2023.03.25 21:17 doubois Which avr to get in 2023?
Hey all, looking for any experience or recommendations for a new avr around the 2000 to 3500 mark. I am excluding denon from the list, no hate, I’ve had a 2800 and 3808ci in the past, just not looking in that direction. Same for marantz unless something about the cinema 50 could sway me. My short list is:
Sony az5000es: have had a 5600es back in the day and it was a tank and sounded fantastic the new 5000es sounds to be a modern version of that so high on my list. Obviously new and not a lot of people have had one for extended time.
Onkyo rz50/ pioneer 505: I currently have an onkyo rz820 and have had a pioneer sc-68 in the past. The onkyo has been good for the most part a few quirks but does the trick. I have heard the rz50 has some issues but can be excellent. The 505 has limited eq I think but either or of these would consider for the lower price but similar performance to the others that are higher cost.
Anthem 740 8k: this and Sony are my top choices. The fan on the anthem has me concerned but my rack does sit behind me in another room in my smallish home theatre. I may never even hear it just that reviewers have mentioned it’s noticeable. As for sq this is probably the top dog although I do have 5ch 200w amp I will be using so might not matter that much. It becomes more or an arc vs Dirac vs Sony vs ypao and which will yield the best results in my room.
Lastly would be the Yamaha a6a: never had a Yamaha avr so new territory. From what I’ve read they have great sound, a bit analytical which I don’t mind although my room set up is a bit dual duty music and movies. For build quality it sounds like them and Sony would be near the top.
Room size is 10’ by 14’
Fronts: custom built nht speakers based on m6
Center: nht m6
Rears (4) and front height: m&k s55 tripole speakers
Subs: For front 2ch nht u2 sub system and for lfe paradigm servo 15.
9 speakers and 3 subs total.
Projector is an lg au810.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or recommendations!

2023.03.25 19:56 Clear-Sight-Moon Nichiren Daishonin underscores the importance of practicing Buddhism to transform our karma. Developing inner strength and fortitude is the supreme benefit of practicing Nichiren Buddhism.
Good afternoon, everyone! We just finished our Group B discussion meeting for March. You know, it was a bit small, six members (not including us) and no guests. But you also should know that we were asking all of our youth members and guests to attend tomorrow's youth meeting and make that their priority. It's a very long drive.
Still and all, attending were our core members and we were encouraged so much by the stories we heard. One member talked about his job with a social service agency being outsourced by a large company and how angry he was at first. He eventually received guidance and he determined to be "wildly courageous and determined" and he decided to to confront the situation proudly and with dignity. He requested an "exit interview" with the CEO of the company that was taking over his agency. His resolve was so strong that the CEO hired him on the spot and he is doing better than ever, bringing over a lot of his former colleagues to the new agency.
A couple of the members here struggle with a variety of mental challenges: manic depression, OCPD, trauma, and dissociation. Just one of those "birds of a feather flock together" things, I suppose. They spoke honestly about their efforts not only to confront the conditions but to turn them into springboards for future growth. One person shared the story of finally becoming pregnant after years and years of disappointments.
This is the Gosho quote that our chapter leader used in his final words (
from March Living Buddhism):
“Iron, when heated in the flames and pounded, becomes a fine sword. Worthies and sages are tested by abuse. My present exile is not because of any secular crime. It is solely so that I may expiate in this lifetime my past grave offenses and be freed in the next from the three evil paths.” (Writings, Volume I, p. 303)
Commenting on this quote from "Letter from Sado" Ikeda Sensei said, "Here Nichiren Daishonin underscores the importance of practicing Buddhism to transform our karma. Developing inner strength and fortitude is the supreme benefit of practicing Nichiren Buddhism."
Well, this afternoon is going to be the "practicing Buddhism to transform our karma" test for me and my family. In a few minutes, our family has a very important meeting with our attorney, Julie's parents, and a few of our tribal leaders. We have been full of anxiety and avoiding this forever but a recent event has forced the inevitable:
Julie and I are both 6-weeks pregnant! It is wonderful but, as you will soon see, perilous at the same time.
Because of our living choices, we are not sure who the fathers are. This could be easily resolved by a blood test but Eulogio is adamant that he will not take one. "I am the father of both babies regardless of DNA. Guy is the father of both as well. The whole point of the RV experiment is to recreate the ethos of the longhouse. The children belong to their tribe and clan; the tribe and clan exist only for the sake of the children."
We sought out advice from both real and online acquaintances. But the medical advantages of knowing your father's DNA? ("It can be easily resolved somehow.") Who will be listed on the birth certificate as the father? ("'Unknown,' which is the truth.") What about the recognition of parent-status for all types of legal matters? ("We will have the babies bornin Massachusetts, Ontario, or British Columbia where 3 or 4 parents can be listed on birth certificates.") What about money obligations? Guy's VA benefits? Health insurance? ("Come on now, we've done this before. Our lawyer will draw up papers that include the babies. We are doing just fine financially and we will take care of all the other matters.") But Guy and Julie are not members of the tribe! ("That issue has been resolved many times in our history and can be done so again.")
Eulogio and Guy would not budge. What about the Indian Child Welfare Act? ("Well, that's a big one, I concede, but this Supreme Court is likely to overturn it in June.") It's getting better but you and I are still in limbo with our community and it is is now in disarray! ("Well, we will have to solve this as well.") As you can see, Eulogio can get very adamant when he is on a roll. Guy just nods his head to everything Eulogio says.
Eulogio took his long bus ride home yesterday from his Managers Meetings at Big Bad Blue City. For some reason, he said, he had read the same article our chapter leader had used over and over. In it, he pointed out, Sensei Ikeda commented:
A thoroughly forged life ensures our eternal happiness. The Daishonin says that his present ordeal “is not because of any secular crime,” even going so far as to assert that he was exiled solely so that he could change his karma in this lifetime.
We've done nothing wrong. Our karma certainly presents challenges. But the fact that we have found each other and have accomplished so much so far is proof that we are on the right path.
We practice Buddhism to forge and transform our lives. Indeed, as the Russian author Mikhail Sholokhov states, each of us is “the blacksmith of our own happiness.” My disciples, become as strong as steel, as strong as finely tempered swords! Stand up as true worthies and sages!
Absolutely adamant, Eulogio insisted that we be brave, dig in, and figure everything out for the sake of our family, community, and many other people who may have to deal with this problem in the future.
Nichiren vigorously encourages his embattled followers as if shaking them by the shoulders: “You have to change your karma! The power to do so exists within you! Don’t run away from hardships! True victory means winning over your own weaknesses! Great suffering produces great character! Become an enduring victor!”
That's that. Eulogio won. We are going into this meeting armed and dangerous. I feel my milk coming in which means it's feeding time. I guess every one at the meeting has seen breasts before.

2023.03.25 19:54 Firengineer Star Citizen Tools Wiki - General Update! - 2023
Good day, Citizens!
The
Star Citizen Tools Wiki has undergone some changes, both subtle and obvious, over the past few months. It's still the same Admin team working on it, with a few new busy bees as Editors and Contributors to fill out the details!
Alpha 3.18 has brought a big whack of changes and updates, some very impactful like Salvage with the
Vulture (Finally!)
But alongside that is a long list of technical and aesthetic changes to the Wiki, courtesy of our incredible back-end team of
Facerafter,
Alistair3149, and
Czenstar!
General Updates
- The Discord server was updated with the Forums to allow for coordination of new and needed pages
- The Wiki continues to maintain parity on its server costs from Patreon subscriptions. Thanks everyone!
- Infoboxes updated with new features, like better buttons, better links to other sites (Like Gallog), and smoother UI
- Specifications table for ships was updated to make it look nicer but also easier to see linked components
- MediaSearch (https://starcitizen.tools/Special:MediaSearch) was added, allowing users to search our database of over 14,000 images, just like Google Images!
- Altered our Captcha method to Star Citizen questions, to defeat the incoming bots
- Removed old talk pages and introduced a more lightweight tool for discussion
Server + Server Costs
Back in the end of 2022, we learned that our loaned dedicated server would no longer be available. Normally, this might have been a cause for serious concern, but our incredibly generous
Patreon supporters allowed us to move to a public cloud provider
Technical Details for Nerds
This new solution allowed us to re-build our solution in a more compact, and efficient way. The new architecture includes a 2-node Kubernetes cluster behind a loadbalancer. To be able to move to the new architecture we needed to:
- Separate the previous stack into microservices resulted in about 16 services, a few scheduled jobs
- Create dedicated images for some of those microservices
- Preferably create Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Convert our whole stack to Kubernetes yaml files
- New back up solutions
- Migrate databases
- Migrate 60 Gigabyte of user uploaded images
- Upgrade to latest Mediawiki Long-term support version (1.39)
Some issues crept in, resulting in some downtime in January/February, but these are all ironed out now.
Last tasks are to investigate a better way of backing up our 65GB of images without slowing everything down, as well as a better automatic recovery of crashes; especially during deployment of updates.
The Future!
We have some events brewing that you will hopefully see soon, posted here!
Depending on our Patreon improvements, we're looking at even faster caching and backups, allowing for less downtime and better loading; especially on mobile!
Special thanks to our Editing team and all the other Contributors along the way. Especially the ones who have fixed little bugs, typos, or issues. You are greatly appreciated!
How to help
If you're looking to contribute, anything to do with Alpha 3.18 is still in flux. Edits to
Salvage, or anything else on Alpha 3.18 is worth some fixes and changes.
Otherwise, come swing by our
Discord server, even just to chat about Star Citizen or ask Wiki questions. We love to talk!
Special thanks to our Editors: Komrk, Chiff, Juval, rellim, T00dled00, Bookfinder, and Weehamster for your continued and connsistent support.
Cheers Citizens, see you next time!
From: your community SC Tools team.

2023.03.25 19:26 Empty-Beach-6724 Advice for final clothing choices
First-time int'l, first-time one bag, first-time solo! UK and Amsterdam in May. 53f. I've been studying the two one-bag subs for quite a while, and I want to stop and make my final decisions on these items. (For context, most of my clothes and gear fall in the range of REI, Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Prana, Patagonia. Open to other brands.) Although I do lots of outdoors stuff, I do not have that planned for this trip. And I acknowledge I may be doing some overthinking here, and that is one reason why I want to stop and make final decisions.
- General rain question. I see that UK and Amsterdam have on average nine days of rain in May. I'll be over there for 18 days, so it seems likely I encounter that.
- I'm from SoCal, so what type of rain are we talking about? Driving rain and thunderstorms? Consistent sprinkles? All of it and everything in between?
- Rain jacket I purchased the Outdoor Research Aspire Trench. I've experimented with taking walks on chilly, rainy evenings (mid 50s, chilly for SoCal) wearing it as a shell. I've worn it over a fleece jacket and a puffy (at separate times) on super brisk walks. It got a little warm, but there's the option of taking off the jacket underneath. What I don't like about this jacket is it doesn't have pit zips, a way to tighten hood around face and the flap over the zipper doesn't fasten down at all (just a snap at the top and bottom).
- Can anyone recommend a similar raincoat that resolves those shortcomings? It's in the ballpark of what I want.
- Should I stick with the long style as opposed to hip length? It's my first long-style jacket in decades. Any pros/cons?
- Also, I got the black one, and I'm thinking if it's cold but sunny, I might be too hot wearing it as a shell. Curious about any opinions on colors. Black looks smart, but I don't want to roast.
- I have an REI rain jacket that is fine, but it's not truly waterproof. I want a real rain jacket, right?
- Jacket I have the REI Flash puffy (mine is dark purple).
- Will a puffy be too warm for May in UK and Amsterdam? I was thinking of getting Kuhl's The One Jacket, but it doesn't have any extra pockets.
- Shoes I'll be primarily wearing Hoka Arahi. I want my second pair of shoes to be all black (I have that in Hoka Arahi) for "dressing up" and I want to be comfortable. I tried Arc'Teryx Aerios FL 2 GTX but they're not as comfortable as Arahi. PLUS I don't need this shoe for anything else. I already have GTX hiking boots (big ones, not appropriate for travel), so I would only be buying these for the trip.
- Can I get away with wearing the beloved Arahis? How necessary is it that I have a waterproof pair of shoes?
- Do I need a sun hat? I will bring some cheapie sunglasses and I'll be wearing moisturizer with 45 spf plus many of my clothes have sun protection. (I will bring a knit cap for warmth.)
- Umbrella? I never see umbrellas on people's packing lists. I'm wondering about keeping my day bag dry if it's raining.
ETA: For more info on shoes, I'm a vegan, so I'm not going to purchase leather. And I know the leather shoes mentioned here all come in vegan options, so those would be doable but: my clothing is best described as athleisure, so I'm not sure Chelsea boots or similar would be a look. My plan for pants was Prana Halle II jogger and Mountain Hardwear Dynama Ankle. I tried the full-length pants version of these, but my legs are shorter than their pants allow for. I don't think ankle boots will look super cool with those pants. Do any other waterproof or water-resistant options come to mind?
ETA 2: I thought I was closer to having this handled than I am. I think I'm going to have to upend my whole wardrobe. And I don't want to.

2023.03.25 18:56 MGMoaks Played our first game of Sects and Violets! It was wild!
My group had played TB 8 times now and wanted to play a new script, so I gave them the option to pick between either BMR or S&V, we ended up playing S&V and it was an insane game! Although I think I messed up the rules a bit. Namely, when players swap characters, do they get to use their new ability that night? Or does that only apply if they start knowing information/they come later in the night order? I ruled that they do act regardless.
The set up was the second one listed in the almanac, so Snake Charmer, Dreamer, Flowergirl, Savant, Barber, Klutz, Mutant, Pit Hag, and Fang Gu.
Day 1 no one is executed. Night 2, the Snake Charmer picks the Fang Gu, Flowergirl is killed and the pit hag turns the savant into the philosopher who chooses to be the artist. Day 2 the new Snake charmer outs the pit hag and they're executed. Night 3 the Fang Gu chooses the Klutz, turning them into the new Fang Gu. Day 3 many of the players are confused, and decide to execute the snake charmer (moreso as a joke than a logical play).
Night 4 was completely wild. The Fang Gu (previously the Klutz, the third Fang Gu at this point) kills the Barber, and goes on to swap the Philo with the Dreamer. I wake both of them up to use their abilities (I realize this is probably incorrect.) and the Philo chooses the Snake Charmer. I wake them up again to use their ability and they choose the Fang Gu. So I make the old Fang Gu the Philo and they choose to be the sage and the old Philo the Fang Gu. We go into the final day with a Dreamer turned Philo turned SC turned Fang Gu, Savant turned Philo turned Artist turned Dreamer, and Klutz turned Fang Gu turned Philo turned Sage. And the Mutant.
Day 4, the town is entirely confused but they're a bit sus of the now Fang Gu and they get 2 votes and are on the block. Then someone realized that the mutant hadn't claimed, so now the Mutant is lying for their life that they're the seamstress and had no good info, but the town is NOT buying it. The mutant ends up with 4 votes and are executed, the game ends, evil won. After explaining everything, my group loved it and so did I!

2023.03.25 18:17 BlueberryImportant42 Real Analysis vs Advanced Calculus
What is the difference between Advanced Calculus as from
this book, and a typical Real Analysis Course, like from
this playlist? Should I use the playlist instead of the Advanced Calculus book, if I want to self-study Real Analysis?
