I am sorry if this isn't in the right place or I'm not posting right. I've never posted before.
Today I'm 14 weeks pregnant (FTM). OB is thrilled with our progress and baby is right on track, growth wise. I've had bad bad bad morning sickness (25+ times a day) which has led me to develope painful and debilitating inflammation in my ribcage. OB prescribed zofran for nausea and cyclobenzaprine for the pain in my ribs. She also OKed the use of medical marijuana (2-3 hits every two hours), as long as I try my other options first. I use all of these medications as minimally as possible and follow her instructions to a T. I even tracked my consumption of everything to be able to tell her exactly what I'm putting in my body. She keeps telling me everything is ok and I'm doing great. I take nowhere near the allotted doses she's given me.
But still, every time I have to reach for anything medicinal, I hate myself. I feel like I'm sacrificing my baby's health for my own comfort. I can't describe how miserable I've been. Some days I was so weak and sore I literally had to crawl to the toilet. The medicine helps me feel human again.... Until the self loathing kicks in.
Then there's all the fear mongering from friends to family to the internet. It seems like everything, even a can of soda just to ease the nausea, increases the risk of still birth, miscarriage, preterm birth, low birth weight.
I'm eating as healthy as MS will let me. I'm taking a prenatal daily. I am not doing anything not OKed by OB.I keep feeling like I'm really screwing up. I can't describe it. I just constantly feel like a bad mom and baby isn't even here yet. I wanted to do this naturally, and I'm ashamed of how much medicine I've needed. I love this child so much already, and I already feel like I'm screwing him or her up.
will this to away? How do I cope? I'm crying from guilt daily. Any help would be so appreciated.

I applied for an MS/PhD in Marine Science on January 4th, but I STILL have not received a response nearly 6 months later. Anybody going through the same issue or received a response in a similar course?

Chris started his Xbox and picked this weird blocky game.
“Chris what is this game?” Chris turned his head to look at me.
“Oh it’s this old game called Minecraft, I’ll show you how to play it” he handed me a controller and started a new world.
“Alright so first thing we need to do is collect some wood” I spawned in the game and saw Chris’s character punching a tree.
“Alright I got the crafting table” I looked over to Chris’s side of the screen and he made multiple tools.
He then helped me make some tools and we started to collect more wood when I saw something.
“Oh hey Chris what’s that over there?” Chris looked over at my side of the screen.
“Oh that’s a village we can get some plants over there” me and Chris then ran towards the village.
We soon arrived and we saw a couple of crops that were planted and we took some of them. We soon left after going through the houses and the chests.
Chris made some wood planks and started to build a house.
“Looks like it’s turning to night time let’s place down our beds” me and Chris placed our beds next to each other.
I looked at Chris and he was blushing. My ears started to wag as he looked over to me.
“Oh your so cute you little fluffy bunny” he Scratched my head a bit and it was divine, I’ve loved the way he massaged my head, if I could I would have do this for many claws.
We both went into our beds and it turned back to day.
“Alright let’s put in some plants” Chris walked over to the coast near our house and used a hoe and a shovel to make some areas where can plant some crops.
“Alright so now what?” Chris looked over to me.
“We have some food to eat in the meantime while these grow” he then gave me multiple potato’s and carrots.
“Alright now we’re going to go mine” I followed Chris as we headed down a cavern. Chris spotted some stone with some black parts and started to mine it. I went ahead and started getting some cobblestone.
“Hang on wait a second” I looked up as Chris went over to his closet.
“It is cold in here” he pulled out this big blue hoodie and put it on. He looked so big in it, it was so cute. He sat back down next to me.
We played for a bit a longer and then we decided turn the game off.
“Kids food is ready!” We both looked at the door and got up. We both headed toward the table where I saw Lani and Vila.
We both sat down at the table and Lani brought out the food. Some starfruit and some cooked spring vines.
I took a bite of the starfruit and it was so juicy. I looked over to Chris and he was devouring the spring vines.
“So what are you two up to?” I looked over to Vila. She took a sip of a weird pink drink.
“We’ve been playing some games and I’ve been showing Aioni how to play them” Chris took a sip of a pink drink.
“Hey Chris what are you drinking?, it looks really good” Chris looked over to me as he was taking a chunk of the starfruit.
“Some strawberry lemonade do you want some” he moved the cup towards me. I picked up the cup and took a drink. By the heavens it was delicious. The flavor was something I’ve never tasted before in my life!
“It’s so good Chris!, can I get my own cup?” Lani nodded and I went over and poured myself a drink. I then went back to the table and sat down.
We are the rest of the meal and then headed back to Chris’s room.
“Hey Chris” Chris looked over to me as we both went under the covers of the bed.
“Yeah?” I pulled Chris’s hoodie up and went in. I poked my head out of the same hole Chris’s head was.
“Look at us we’re wearing the same hoodie!” Chris blushed and started to scratch my head. My made an embarrassing chittering noise as my ears wagged.
Chris grabbed a remote and turned the tv on, he then went ahead and put it on one of the main channels of Venlil Prime.
“What show is this?” We both looked at the tv.
“It’s the travelers” Chris looked down at me as he pet my ears.
“I think I actually heard about this, I’m pretty sure a couple people said it was like Doctor Who” now that I think about it, the shows are kind of similar.
I took a sip of some strawberry lemonade.
Chris yawned a bit and closed his eyes.
“I think I’m gonna take a quick rest” I looked at Chris and rested my head on his chest.
After a while we both fell asleep under the covers.

I woke up and saw Chris was still sleeping. He looked so cute with his head against the pillow.
I looked up at the tv, it was some news report. Apparently there was a new human restaurant opening up nearby.
I looked back at Chris, he was still sleeping soundly. I decided to go back to resting on his chest.
A little bit later he woke up.
“Hey sleepyhead how was your dream” I patted Chris’s cheeks, his face was so cute.
“Very well beautiful” he gave me a little kiss on the head and I started making that embarrassing chittering noise again.
“Anyway what time is it?” He looked outside and saw it was storming out.
“Huh guess we can’t go on a walk in the park, want to play some more games?” I looked at Chris with interest.
“In a bit I wanna keep snuggling my loveable cutie” I rubbed my face against his and we went back under the covers.
We snuggled for about a quarter of a claw before we got up and headed towards the kitchen.
“Hey you two” Lani walked over to us and handed us some more strawberry lemonade.
“Thanks Ms Lani” we then headed back to Chris’s room and we both decided to watch some of the animals.
“Look at the little shrimp move around” Chris pointed at the blue crustacean zooming around the tank and into the plants.
“Look at the little fish” I watched as the catfish as Chris called it swam around in the tank eating some green stuff in the water.
We then went over to the blue death feigning beetle enclosure and watched as the beetles and the velvet ants wandered the enclosure.
“I thinks it’s about feeding time for these little guys” I watched as Chris put a slice of a vegetable and place into the enclosure. All of the little creatures went over and started eating.
“You know we could watch a nature documentary if you wanted” I looked over at Chris and nodded.
We then went over to the bed and put the covers over us and he put on the show.

I’m currently on my first playthrough of calamity and was stuck on DoG for like the past 2 weeks. I struggled for so long to beat him that I almost just gave up.
I finally managed to beat him earlier today and was overjoyed. My little autistic brain had the good buzz and i was very happy.
On the wave of hype I prepared for Yharon, expecting the dragon to dra-gape my asshole in a similar way that DoG did.
Im running mage and made this lil weapon that made a circle of stars and then they homed in on enemies and I love stars so I was even happier because cool weapon = cool game.
blablabla I finished getting the new equipment, armour and spawner and accidentally clicked on that egg of impending disappointment..
NPCs died immediately. Ruining my entire lil set up for them all. Yharon fucked them up. I panicked and made a temporary arena using the LUIafk arena item thingy in the air.
The fight was on.
holding left click, screaming and running away Yharon was flying around me like a pedophile near a school. Firing his stupid little fireballs coming to fuck me up.
The stars were attacking him more than he was attacking me.

Now. Normally at 30%, the boss has had at least 2 stages. Not Yharon in this fight apparently, his ass was doing the same shit over and over. I’m playing revengence mode so this was very unusual. My adrenaline was full on one ofnthe final bosses in the mod.
What the fuck?
I activated adrenaline and before i knew it the gob shite was dead.
With a full healthbar, massive anticlimax and confusion. I had killed Yharon, the dragon fuck.
Now. Is the fight meant to be that easy? or did my dumbass miss something? Why could I spawn him in my non-jungle town? Mr and Ms calamitors. What the fuck?

We got to Chris’s house and he brought me in. He walked me toward the den and introduced me to his adoptive mother Lani.
“Hello Chris is this your new friend?” Lani got up and walked over to me.
“Yes I’m Aioni” I turned to Chris. My ears were wagging.
“Nice to meet you it wonderful to have you here this paw” Lani than walked over to the kitchen.
“You pups want anything to eat?” She turned to us while she opened the cold box.
“Do you have any watermelon and grapes?” Lani reached in and grabbed two boxes and placed them on the counter and then grabbed two bowls. Chris than walked over and grabbed a drink from the box.
“Thank you for the food Ms Lani” me and Chris grabbed our food and walked towards his room. He opened the door and placed his bowl and drink near his bed.
“So what do you want to do Chris?” I looked as Chris grabbed a remote and turned on his tv.
“I was thinking I could show you this show I like” he then put on his show and we both sat on his bed while we ate the fruit. The show he put on was called South Park, it looked like some poorly animated show but is was so good. The jokers were vulgar but I think that’s part of the appeal.
“So Chris I was wondering if could get a room tour?” Chris looked over to me and got up.
“So over on this table is my blue beetles” he pointed at the blue insects. They tumbling and walking all over the sand and stick.
“Over on my stand I got this jar terrarium” I looked inside the jar and saw so much life inside. There were little lifeforms all around in the dirt and the grass. He then opened his closet.
“This is where I put my clothes and I also have this shelf where I put other pets” he then pointed at a glass box with dirt.
“This is where I put baby beetles to sell, it hard to breed blue beetles so they go for a high price” he then closed his closet and walked over to the tv.
“Right here I have my Xbox where I play games and right underneath it I have a vr headset” he then walked back to his bed.
“And that’s pretty much it any questions?” I looked at Chris as I sat back down next to him.
“So you sell beetles, is that like one of your main sources of money?” He looked at me as he ate some watermelon.
“Yeah I actually sell them to some of the local pet stores in town, their actually really popular because they are so simple to care for” I was about to ask him another question when the door bell rang.
“I wonder who that is?” Chris and I ignored the ring but than it kept ringing.
“Alright I’m going to see who’s there, I’ll be right back” Chris walked out of his room but I followed him. He grabbed the door and opened it.
“Hello what do you want?” He stared at the two Venlil exterminators.
“Stand back vile predator!” One the Venlil pulled out a stun baton but Chris just backed up.
“Why are you here dude?” Chris just stared at the Venlil with a blank face.
“My name is Varen and we’ve received a complaint about you from a neighbor” Chris just looked at them.
“For what?” There was a brief silence.
“We’re not telling you, your a predator!” The Venlil tried to step inside the building but Chris just slightly pushed him back.
“Look dude I’m not in the mood to deal with your bullshit so just fuck off alright” Chris than shut the door and brought me back to his room when Lani walked in.
“You pups alright?” Chris and I turned to her.
“Oh yeah I just told the exterminator to fuck off its fine” Lani looked at Chris with surprise.
“Well Chris hopefully they won’t come back”
“Hey Lani do I have school tomorrow?” Lani looked at Chris.
“No why?” Chris than turned to me.
“I was wondering if Aioni could sleep over?”

Another Madden $70 re-skin is upon us, so let's take a moment to explore the history of all the people who have been featured on the cover of an pro football video game.
While the selection of the Madden cover athlete is now an event, there was a wild wild west period of football games from the 80s to the mid-2000s where anybody with a computer could and would build football games, with the selection of the cover being all over the place. Roger Craig was the first cover athlete in 1985 on NFL Challenge for MS-DOS. Madden's first game was in 1988, then by the mid-90s getting a cover athlete or spokesman for your football game was pretty standard.
I wanted to compile those games and covers based on this Wiki article (and a few that it was missing from that list) and see who was on the main cover of all of those games (some games were almost completely irrelevant, so I left them off this list). Some of these may have more alternates with other people, but I'll stick with the main cover.

Obviously QBs dominate here, but I didn't realize how little defensive players have been on football game covers (9%), with none being on a cover since Richard Sherman in 2014. I'd love to see more defensive players on the Madden cover. Who would be the most likely defensive guy in the near future? Aaron Donald, TJ Watt, Nick Bosa, Myles Garrett, or Sauce Gardner?

The Re-skins/Commanders?, Jags, Panthers, and Bills have appeared on a cover but never with an athlete as the lead or with a real person. Only the Texans have never appeared at all on the cover of any football video game. I'd say the Bills are most likely to get one next (Josh Allen), then the Jags (Trevor Lawrence), then the Panthers/Texans if either hits a home run with Young or Stroud. The Commanders have a long road ahead to getting a feature cover athlete, unless you ask Sam Howell who thinks he should be this year's Madden cover athlete.

Kordell Stewart, Daunte Culpepper, and Donovan McNabb (and possibly Lamar Jackson, still too early for him) are the only players with multiple appearances that are either not or are unlikely to make the Hall of Fame. McNabb is the only guy to appear in multiple covers in the same year. Also of note, 7 athletes were on a cover without ever making a pro bowl in their careers: Brad Muster, Pat Terrell, Gordon Laro, Chris Zorich, Albert Fontenot, William Floyd, and Peyton Hillis (Hillis was the only one to be the primary cover athlete).
I'll list all the games and their respective covers by their era below. I'll also attach some of my favorite covers from each era. If the cover person was a Hall of Famer, I'll mark them with a ^\). If they're very likely to make the HoF but they're not yet eligible, I'll mark them with a ⁺

We didn't see the first cover athlete until 1985 with Roger Craig. They didn't really become standard until the early to mid-90s after Madden became a big selling point for the early Madden games. The dip in the last 2 decades is because there's just less games, so any generic football games will have a large effect.

The Early Days: 1965-1982

1978: Football! for the Magnavox Odyssey 2 was the first football video game with a cover, but obviously the cover athletes are generic.

The 2D Era: 1983-1996

1985: NFL Challenge was the first football game with a real cover athlete (Roger Craig). This was the original bar for realism in football simulation, to where it was used in a 1988 ESPN Program \"NFL Dream Season\" where they simulated the greatest teams of all time against each other.
1988: John Madden Football released on the Apple II, MS-DOS, and Commodore 64/128 (partly being developed by Bethesda), which was the beginning of the most dominant franchise in football video games. They featured no NFL teams due to a lack of an NFL license.
1991: Tecmo Super Bowl is probably still my personal favorite football video game. It's totally timeless, and if you pick the Raiders then you're a cheater.

The Parity Era: 1997-2004

1997: NFL Blitz came from Midway studios and was a breath of fresh air for football games. They had mostly been stagnant trying to hone in on realistic simulation in 2D form, whereas Blitz came out in 3D and threw realism out the window. I definitely spent too much money on the arcade version of this game.
2000: Madden 2001 started the tradition of having their games feature a cover athlete in this format, which consolidated into nearly everyone following this trend.
2001: Backyard Football 2002 was a more kid-friendly version of a football video game, and they also had other games for other professional sports. I definitely played this a lot on my old Windows Me computer, and Pablo Sanchez is a god.
2002: NFL Fever was Microsoft's foray into football video games on the original Xbox. All 3 of their games featured Peyton Manning as the cover athlete.
2002: NFL GameDay 2003 was 989 Sports' exclusive for Sony on the PlayStation platform.
2004: ESPN NFL 2K5 was the last great football game before the NFL exclusively gave their license to the EA. It was this game that definitely led to NFL's decision though, as they slashed their release price to an unheard of $20, which forced Madden 2004 to release at $30 instead of the typical $50. This pissed off the NFL, who decided to have less competition instead.

The Madden Era: 2005-Present

2005: NFL Street 2 was the second in the NFL Street series as a kind of spiritual successor to NFL Blitz. EA tried to have some diversity in their football video games outside of the Madden franchise, so they had the short-lived Street franchise under \"EA BIG\"
2006: NFL Head Coach was a new perspective on NFL Games where you play as the coach instead of the players. I enjoyed these although they could get a little boring.
2007: All Pro Football 2K8 was 2K's attempt at keeping the 2K football franchise alive without the coveted NFL license. They got three HoF players on the cover in Elway, Barry, and Rice, but not the actual license to any NFL team. This game received praise for its mechanics, but poor sales showed that a non-NFL licensed game would always struggle to make it.
2011: Madden 12 was maybe the last good Madden game. Also, Peyton Hillis. The only guy on a NFL football game cover to never make a Pro Bowl. This guy is an actual hero though, so good for him.
2019: Doug Flutie's Maximum Football was a mix of american and CFL football as another attempt at making a football game without the NFL license to poor results. They have announced a new game as a free to play title on new platforms, but no games in this franchise have released since 2020.
2020: Retro Bowl is a mobile game more in the style of Tecmo Super Bowl than Madden. It's probably the most successful non-Madden game since ESPN NFL 2K5, and it's pretty fun. People should definitely give this one a try since it's free to play on any mobile platform.
2022: Madden 23 gave the cover back to Madden for the first time since 1999 to honor the passing of the legend John Madden. Unfortunately the game inside the cover was crap, has been the style of Madden games for over a decade.

How I yearn for the days of cozying up with a partner in a warm embrace (again). Chilling in the house watching anime, Pokemon battling, telling me some interesting nooks and crannies (or nook’s cranny) of whichever game we’re playing. Perhaps a romantic dinner at a reasonable restaurant on the Riviera… or Riviera Casino & Resort (I dunno, I made that up). Melting into each other no matter where we go or what we do… I miss that. I hope that’s of interest to you.
Physically, I’m half anglo-yank, half turk, a little big but am working on it. Lost nearly 40 lbs in 5 months and gunning for more. I take pride in being able to buy smaller shirts again. One day we’ll use my old 3xl shirts to snuggle.
Whatever your sorrows, I’m here for you. I very rarely get angry or frustrated and I even more rarely let it get to me. You’ve probably been through a lot and want to melt your frustrations away. Or you want to pick my brain about politics. I’m here for both. I live for both. But I’m also here for myself, and I’d say I’m doing pretty decently for myself. You being around is one way of worming your way into my heart already :)

Squilla

Squilla looked up from the docupad and at the blank metal wall of her room. Tony’s code was all over the place and though she was able to keep him out of the more important systems—the ones that would give the AI control over the ship she didn’t want it to have—it was not enough to keep him out of everything.
Tony was everywhere on the ship, but at the same time not where he should be. Usually, AI systems would be focused on a specific task. Navigation was the most common, there were not many biological forms that could compute interstellar travel so fast. Communication was rarely given over to AIs, there were enough advances in basic systems to make it pointless to put an AI there. Weapons were dependent on the government – did they trust their captains more than their programmers?
But Tony was in all of those.
Tony was in the sprinklers that he used to torture Squilla every time she entered a room after their second acquisition of the ship. He was in the speakers and playlists. He was in every docupad and every light—including the ones used specifically to project his humanoid hologram. He was in the gym’s VR system – riding a rocket board in the air between Alice and Ilise and trying to distract them. At the same time, he was a sprite wearing armour and fighting rainbow dragons over the X button of that annoying pop-up for vigara that he sent to try and stop Squilla from reading his base code.
Tony was in the cleaning ducts, the weapons system, the comms, the DME, and the yet-to-be-installed stealth tech Ilise brought back on board. The device was only turned on in Squilla’s sandbox and she found fragments of Tony’s code.
A beep made her look back down at her docupad where Tony’s sprite was waving at her. It looked mocking. She shut off the pad’s screen only for it to flash with a giant pixelated grin followed by another ad-bomb full of enhancements, pills, injections, and the occasional gaming review.
Those last ones always caught Squilla’s eye and she had a hard time turning away from the last ARC-championship announcement or the gossip about the galaxy’s top players being in a polyamorous relationship.
“Please stop this,” Squilla barely got the words out before the AI’s hologram appeared in her room right by the door.
“You should take down that firewall,” Tony replied but he was smiling. He looked sweet. The docupad flashed with another ad-bomb and Squilla threw it onto the bed so she wouldn’t have to look at it.
“I take it down and half of these ads will download a virus onto your systems.”
“I can deal with viruses.”
“But not with a firewall?”
“Well... you’re good. We both know that. And it’s less of a firewall and more like hardened magma, waiting for me to touch it so it explodes and burns--”
“I’m sorry Tony, I can’t,” Squilla interrupted him. “We both know why.”
Tony said nothing but the pout on his lips almost, almost, made Squilla take her words back.
“That last time wasn’t my fault,” he said quietly, his voice moving to the speaker right by Squilla’s head and coming only from there.
The AI was flawless. The way it moved and shifted. It was so biological, like any other lifeform that Squilla had encountered. Sometimes, she forgot he was nothing more than code. Very advanced code, yes, but code nonetheless.
“I know. But we were lucky last time that Charyd didn’t get caught too. This time? Who knows what hidden doors and traps you have in your code that will make it so we all get caught.”
“I’d know if I had any such codes!”
“And you’d tell me?”
Tony was quiet. His hologram hugged his chest and looked away. It was so... human. That was the only reason why Squilla was able to get her defences back up and harden her tone as she said, “Firewall stays on until we get to a CEMP-dock.”
“CEMP-dock?!”
“Only for your comms, I promise.”
“There are not many places in the galaxy that have a CEMP-dock.”
Squilla realized she had already revealed too much. “I’m going to be late for dinner. We’ll continue this later.” She passed right through the hologram and made her way to the mess hall. It was dinner time and Polo had promised to make her favourite tonight – catappa leaves on top of boiled beetles sprinkled with the ash of burnad. It was also the perfect excuse to stop talking to the AI.

Ilise

The moment Ilise’s alarm beeped, she was up, dressed in the loose shirt Charyd had given her (that did not have the man’s scent on it, it really didn’t Tony, what the fuck? Why would you even ask that?!), bed made, and out of her room.
After weeks of being stuck, she wanted to be anywhere, even in the uncomfortable chairs on the deck. She knew Alice was watching her with a close eye, and because of that, she dared not enter Tony’s room in fear of a logger being planted on the biometrics by Squilla.
“Good morning, Tony. Any reason why it's cooler on the ship today?”
“The thermostat has been changed to 15 Celsius.”
That was odd, but it was nice to not sweat as much during her workout. “Any insight on where we might be located right now?”
“The Darkstorm is in space. Flying past some planets, and asteroids. Quite a scenic view, seen nowhere else in—”
“Can you narrow it down by galaxy?”
“I can. But I think you will be surprised when I show you where we are at. Polo has informed me the best things in life are surprises, like a jellyfish-filled donut.”
Her sister loved strawberry cockroach-filled donuts. She would aim her massive, big bite so the filling would explode and stain Ilise’s shirt. “I prefer to be prepared for anything. Could you give me a hint?”
“Yes, it orbits a sun.”
Ilise could not help but let out a loud sigh. She paused in the hallway, surprised to see Squilla standing outside the gym door without a tablet in sight. “Ms. Posey, I was wondering if we could talk.”
“It’s Captain Posey.” Her comm pinged and she glanced down at it. There was a short message from Tony flashing on the screen, telling her to “beware the kraken!”
“Oh, um, but well, you don’t captain this ship or crew for that matter. It would be like calling me Senator Squilla.”
“Well Senator Squilla of Charyd’s Crew, I am still a Captain by rank according to the military until my superiors say otherwise.” Her comm pinged multiple times. Tony probably sending a message one word at a time to her. “But I don’t think you came here to talk about titles. What is it?”
Squilla’s antenna flickered around, sensing, she crossed her multiple swimmerets across her chest. “It's about the AI. I think it has evolved too much. I need to know if you have a way to shut it down and restart it. It’s branching out into everything it shouldn’t. I can’t contain it.”
“Tony isn’t something to be contained. Tony is the ship, free in space. This is about your firewall.” That explains how Tony was able to determine where they were.
Squilla nodded. “I am asking you, for our safety, to tell me how to restart the AI you call Tony.”
Ilise leaned, getting close. “You can’t restart Tony.” She gently patted Squilla’s shoulder. “Though it sounds like you gave it an incredible try, better than anyone else ever has. I’d be willing to help you get a job in the cyber security department.”
Squilla peeled Ilise’s hand off. “A desk job never appealed to me. If you won’t help me, I will find a way to talk directly to Tony and figure out what their true processor is to make them stop. Nothing should have the power to be all over the ship. Departments exist for a reason.”
The threat emitting from the small person was enough to send chills down Ilise’s spine. “Then I suggest you keep your little clickers out and tucked in tight in your department.”
“Brrrr.” Charyd bellowed out. “You two need to chill – no heat out. Squilla, do you need my help?”
“No. I can handle things in my area. Thank you, Captain.”
“Hold up!” Charyd called out. “In all seriousness, it’s a bit chilly today. Do you mind checking the thermostat setting?”
“Sure, but it’s at the one we agreed to.”
She skittered away down the hall to the deck. Charyd pulled the hood on his grey sweater up over his head. “What? My ears are cold.” He then took a very slow and deliberate twice-over—nope, make that four—of Ilise’s body from head to toe, lingering a bit too long on her chest.
“What are you doing here?” Ilise growled out the question and crossed her arms over her chest as if that would help divert his attention elsewhere.
“Is that my shirt?” he asked then immediately waved a hand in the air. “Never mind. Holiday for Alice. You get me.” He walked into the gym, and she followed.
“Won’t be much of a race against you. How about a boxing match – gloves off.”
He morphed his fist into a large red brick shape. “Unfair match, I can make it as large and hard as I want.”
“You can morph into anything you want, why does most of your species take on the more human look?” The broad shoulders and thick dark lips, but his eyes were unique to him. Something he could change to blend in more with the humans, but instead used it to stand out.
“Because that’s what works better in the military. Alright, to keep this fair.” He grew taller than her, his fangs protruded out as the lower lip pulled out and his upper tucked in. His jaw became squarer and his shoulders and hips broader, stretching the seams in the sweater. “Oh damn. “
He wiggled out of his sweater, encouraging the sound of thread ripping. He remained in a tight-fitting work shirt, his pecs ready to bulge out. Ilise forced her eyes to lock with his (she would not be as rude as he was earlier) and resisted echoing his words. Her heart was racing and constricting in her chest. She cleared her throat a few times before talking. “Well, those arms will make this a bit unfair, but I will best you at bench pressing with that body ratio.”
Her comm pinged, and she scrolled through the messages from Tony, ignoring the single. Fucking. Letter. Texts that he sent her earlier while she was with Squilla, to see his latest. “The Shicor body ratio of 134/110/123 of shoulder, waist, and hip, would do better in bench pressing. Try squats with that ratio.”
Charyd was able to morph anything on his body, she would take any advantage handed to her by Tony. “Squats barbell.”
Charyd took a step over, wiggling and shifting his pants around his waist. Based on his gait, he must have shrunk parts of him down. He clearly had some experience in adjusting his groin and hips. He put the bar on the ground and began to load it up, starting small at a hundred and fifty. Her stare must have been burning into him for he looked up and wiped his hands on his pants. “I liked to do a stretch or warm up round to get a hang of a new body.”
“Mmmmhmm” she agreed.
The form of his clothes as he pulled up the weight left little to her imagination. She stepped around the back to watch him adjust the barbell and dipped into the squat.
“That’s a fine ass.” The speakers said.
“Mmmhmm,” Ilise replied casually. Then her face heated up and glowed purple.
Tony sent her a message. “You did not hear that.”
Based on the smile on Charyd’s face as he added an additional weight, he just got an ego inflation enough to hold 700 weights.

Hello all readers! Ducks and I have an announcement for you: we are going on hiatus with this story for at least 2 months.
As much as we love this story, Ducks and I decided to torture challenge ourselves and have signed up for the publishing derby - this is an epic contest where we have to write a book in 2 months. Why not??? 🥲
We also each have our own main stories (The Thedre Trilogy for Ducks and God of Discovery for me), so adding OMD on top of that is going to be too much for both of us. Because of that, we have agreed to put Off My Dock on hold during the derby.
We will be back! We have a lot of interesting things planned for this story and are only halfway through our outline so far.

“Are you sure about this Vila?” I looked over at Inala who was messing with her feathers. “Yes it is I mean it’s either now or at school where you know there will be a stampede” I looked at my friends “now come on let’s go inside” me and my friends than walked into my house.
“HEY MOM IM HOME AND BROUGHT MY FRIENDS” I heard mom get up from her chair to come and greet us. “Hello Welcome to our den how you doing today” all my friends turned to mom “pretty good Ms Lani” my mom then walked back to the living room to go watch some tv and we head towards Chris’s room. Just before I could open the door Silan stopped me. “Are you sure about this?, I mean for all we know he could be violent” I turned towards Silan the Harchen was nervous and shaking. “It’ll be fine I talked to him before” Silan only slightly calmed down. “Alright let’s do this” I turned to Biri as she cleaned her quills. I knocked on the door. “Come in” I then opened door to see Chris near the Glass box of blue beetles and in his hand some vegetables.
“What are you up to Chris?” I walked towards the human. “Oh I’m just feeding my beetles, what are you and your friends up to?” I turned from the beetles towards Chris “ oh I just wanted you to meet my friends before you come to school next paw” Chris then looked over at us and Inala started to shake and Chris got up and walked towards his bed and jumped onto it and turned towards us “so are you going to introduce them or?” It was then that Biri went ahead “my name is Biri and as you can see I’m a Gojid” Biri extended a claw out as she had heard that humans greeted each other by shaking hands but Chris just nodded and then turned his head towards Silan “I’m a Silan and I’m a Harchen” Silan tried to wag her tail to fake being happy but Chris didn’t notice it. He then turned to Inala and his expression changed and you could tell he was slightly angry “my name is Inala and I’m a-“ before Inala could finish her sentence Chris interrupted her “I know what you are I don’t need an explanation of that” Inala then stared at Chris shocked “anyway could guys please leave I’m gonna play some Xbox and I really just wanna relax right now” we just stood in silence for a bit then we left and shut the door of his room and headed towards the kitchen. “Vila is he okay?, I mean he didn’t notice my tail or Biri’s claw and the way he stared at Inala I was worried he was going to do something bad” I grabbed some starfruit from the fridge and then looked towards Silan.
“Look alright he is a bit special and different from the normal humans” my friends were now curious and Biri grabbed a cup of water and then turned to me “what do you mean special, I mean what puts him from other humans?” I took in a deep breath from my mouth “mom says he has something called autism, apparently it’s like a genetic thing where he’s not as good with social skills as other people are” Inala grabbed a slice of starfruit and took a bite “so he’s kind of like that Nevok girl Aioni” I looked at Inala “yeah I guess how they act is kind of similar but that wouldn’t explain his reaction towards you” Inala put her wings up “well what could he think that would make a reaction like that towards me” I then got nervous a bit because I just realized why he did that.
“I think it’s because your species government bombed his home” there was Brief silence “Vila you know I don’t agree with what my governments done but that would never mean I would mean harm against Chris alright” my black wool puffed up a bit “but Chris might not think that Inala you have to understand that” me and friends took a brief silence and then headed to my room to look at the work we needed to do

Back story - My husband and I had our first son in November. We stared having kids kinda late - I'm 31 and my husband is 35. We want at least one more, maybe 2. When I was still pregnant, we mentioned something about me possibly being pregnant again within a year or 2 when someone asked about us traveling for a holiday in early 2024. Basically we said "any travel for us will be up in the air with having a young baby and us not knowing when we will be pregnant again". DHs mother was appalled at the fact that there would even be a chance that we'd get pregnant again soon. All of her kids were 5 year gaps, so I guess she thinks everyone should be that way.
We have a yearly Memorial Day party and I'd been looking forward to it all week. We invited friends and family. My husband smoked meat and I prepared sides. Baby fought napping and then once my in laws showed up they wouldn't leave him alone so I could get him down, so I spent the first half of the party dealing with a fussy baby.
Finally got baby down for bed and was sitting enjoying a beer and some much needed girl chat with a few of my friends. MIL was sitting near us and randomly interjected herself into our conversation to tell everyone in earshot "SaltButton already wants another baby! They're trying to have another baby". Completely unprovoked. Completely uncalled for. I was so dumbfounded that I couldn't even speak. I just stared at her with disgust.

1. We aren't "trying" to have another baby. We aren't actively preventing (she doesn't know that part), so it could happen. It would be welcome, but were hoping to wait until our son is around 1.
2. Even if we were wanting/trying, why in the hell would anyone think that's appropriate to share!
3. When we do decide to have another baby, it will be because BOTH of us want it. Not just me. She made it very clear that it was ME that wanted another already.

It ruined the night for me. I spent the rest of the night answering questions from my friends on what the hell that was all about. One of my friends didn't even know that was my MIL and asked me who the crazy lady was. One friend even commented that she could tell she was poking at me- trying to get a reaction.
This isn't the first time she's done this. DH aunt died in February and she told someone at his aunts funeral that we were alredy trying. I was barley even cleared to have sex. Definitely hadn't had my cycle return yet due to breastfeeding. But yeah, I'm trying to have another at 10 weeks postpartum when my vagina isn't even healed yet. There's no telling how many other people she's spewed her BS to.
I'm so over her bullshit. The thing is, I'm pretty sure I ovulated late (like 2 days ago), and there's a chance I could have gotten pregnant this cycle, and now I'm so annoyed and don't even want to think about her saying she knew we were trying. If I am pregnant - she will be the LAST person to know. I would say I'd just let her find out on social media, but she has me blocked on there! DH and I are done telling her any information, at all.
Still contemplating what all I'm going to say to her when I confront her on it. We have DH family reunion at noon today and I'm already in a mood today and if she says anything I may just go off in front of all of the family. DH definitely would.
And to clarify - DH has my back 100%. He started calling her when I told him what happened at the party, but I told him not to because I want to handle this one. He always puts her in her place when she disrespects ms.

Hi. Purdue's MS CS is a 2 year program, wherein I can choose either the coursework or the thesis option. University of Washington' MS in DS program offers a 1.5 yrs professional program geared towards getting into the job market.
Pros of UoW MS DS: 1) Professional program, might get good job offers 2) Location advantage: Seattle. Lot of big giants near the uni. 3) Tuition is cheap
Cons: 1) 1.5 years duration in current market conditions. Do not know whether the job market will improve by the time I would graduate. There is a chance that I could end up without a job. 2) DS makes it a bit restrictive. Although my main goal is to work as a data scientist, in not so great circumstances, the program may limit the job roles I may be able to apply to.
Pros of Purdue MS CS with focus on ML: 1) Can do a research orientated program, which might keep the option of a PhD in the future open. 2) Chance of TA/RA 3) 2 years program + MS CS provides a wider range of job roles available to me. 4) Low cost of living
Cons: 1) MS CS means I would have to study mandatory courses like Algorithms, and Operating systems. Being a CS undergrad I'd have to go through it again. 2) Location is quite remote. Job opportunities may be lesser than those offered by UoW.

Shein watched from the sidewalk as the two humans shook hands before stepping back a few paces from each other.
The stocky one drew a bastard sword with a fat bellied tip. Calmly proclaiming.
"Drake is a better swordsman than the scourge."
The other, much thinner human, drew a long, thin Rapier and donned a chainmail glove. Softly rebuking.
"I believe the scourge is a better swordsman, to first blood?"
The stocky human nodded, a playful grin on his face.
"Try not to take one of my eyes out with one of those wild thrusts you're taught"
The thinner human smiled back, returning a quip of his own.
"As long as you don't try and take my head off, with those wide swings of yours."
The two nodded in agreement.
Then they clashed.
The rapier jabbed at the stocky human's cheek, the stocky human twisting out of the way as the bastard sword's tip flashed inches away from the thin human's throat. The thin human countered by leaning back, throwing a left hook with the chain mail glove. The stocky man ate it, parrying the rapier that whipped for his side before retaliating with a kick to the chest that sent the thinner man stumbling back with a laugh.
They engaged again, the bastard sword swept upwards as the rapier swished down at an angle. The two blades met and the heavier bastard sword pushed the rapier aside, the rapier redirecting the bastard sword slightly away from the thin man's face. Locking the two chest to chest. Each other's blades locked at the cross guard before they broke away.
The rapier thrusted, the bastard sword cleaved through the air.
A line was cut on the stocky man's cheek just as the tip of the bastard sword opened up a small, two inch long cut across the other's sternum.
The two humans felt their injuries, saw the blood and smiled. The stocky man sheathed his bastard sword and extended the hand he'd touched the cut with, blood on his fingers.
"Good work as always Thomas, you're getting quicker with that needle of yours."
Thomas smiled and shook the stocky man's hand with his own bloodied one.
"I can say the same Gary, that blade of yours is getting harder and harder to redirect almost took my nose off with that upward swing."
Gary smiled and gave a hearty laugh before clapping his friendly rival on the back.
"Let's go get a beer and compare notes then. Tangling up my sword guard with the basket hilt? Brilliant idea."
The two human's voices faded into the usual burble as everyone continued on with their day. Taking a moment to watch Gary and Thomas's weekly duel was a common past time in the forge district.
Shein stopped by a food cart manned by a cephalopod, who was selling fried octopus.
"Hey Tignak, get any confused tourists today that accuse you of cannibalism?"
There was a sound like a dozen suction cups being pulled off of one another, the cephalopod's version of laughter. The vendors voice appearing in her head after a small pulse that she could accept or deny access to.
"A few, they seem to forget I'm a terrestrial squid and not a deep water octopus. Besides, if I tasted anywhere near this good, I'd just lop a few feet of each limb off, fry it and sell it. They'd grow back in a day or two and I'd save a ton on groceries."
Shein laughed with Tignak, imagining the sight of him casually frying the end of one of his own tentacles.
"I don't doubt Tig, speaking of which. I'm visiting my old man and you know how much he loves your cooking."
She felt Tig's smile in her mind even though the squid's face was completely unreadable. Just a very large eye staring back at her.
"Of course, you know Frank and I go way back, have these on the house."
Tig took a few fresh octopi, whacked them against the table to kill them instantly before starting to fry them up. It only took a few minutes for the many armed food cart manager to cook and box up a half dozen fried octopi. Shein took the box gratefully and bowed her head to Tig.
"Thank you Tig, I owe you one, if you need anything you know how to reach me."
The cephalopod gave a salute with an unoccupied tentacle.
"No worries Ms. Stein, please visit more often, I enjoy our little chats."
Shein smiled and turned to walk off, using her nimble tail to drop a twenty credit piece in Tignak's tip jar. It had been awhile since she'd last seen her dad, her job took her to some pretty far away places for long periods. But whenever she knocked on his door, that tired old mouse always answered with gusto.
Shein plodded her way down the main street, picking up some small material samples from the local smiths for her father's experiments. As she neared the warehouse her father had converted into a machine shop and living quarters. She knocked on the door rather roughly, hearing a pneumatic hiss on the other side and the impact of metal against flesh.
Without a second's more hesitation, Shein ripped the door open, concern etched across her face.
"Shit! You good doc? that sounded like it hurt!"
The old mousian was laughing, a bruise on his furless cheek where Ferrick's new arm had punched him with pneumatic assistance. Ferrick knelt by the laughing mousian, a concerned look on his face as he swept his now gunmetal grey hair out of his eyes.
Doctor Franklin Neville Stein simply patted the cyborgs still intact upper bicep, chuckling as he scratched one of his tattered ears.
"Ah! consider it a function check my boy! That was barely at ten percent power and it knocked me flat!"
Ferrick looked down at his new arm and began chuckling with the mad doctor before pulling the much smaller mousian to their feet.
"Doctor's orders, unrefusable! Good work on the arm though, if that was ten percent I can't imagine what fifty or a hundred would've done."
Dr.Frank nodded, the maniac glint of a mad scientist coming to his eyes.
"With the newly improved valves and better seals, you could punch a hole in starship armor at seventy. One hundred and you might just punch through the entire ship!"
The two old galactic adventures laughed together. Before shein cleared her throat.
The two men slowly, guiltily turned around as Shein gave them both a dirty look, hand slipping away from the handgun she kept at the small of her back. She pointed at her dad.
"We've discussed this dad, stay out of range of your own machines when you're working on them."
She glared at Ferrick who sheepishly looked down. She did take a bit of pride in that, she was the only person he feared pissing off.
"And you! I told you not to let him work on your prosthetics while they're still attached! Do we need to have another Icarus scenario to deal with?"
Ferrick mumbled back sheepishly.
"We only leveled the warehouse once..."
Shein slapped her palm against her face, dragging it down in exasperation before simply saying.
"Leveled it? Yeah you've only done that once. However, you two have burned it down, shot bowling balls through the walls, created a miniature sun that bathed everything in lethal amounts of UV radiation after the containment field lost power. Or that time it got sucked into the warp because you two couldn't get it through your thick skulls why we dont open portals to the warp in atmosphere. You're extremely lucky neither of you got sucked in with it."
Shein took a deep breath and let it out slowly before setting the box of fried octopus on the metal dinner table. The two old veterans of intergalactic conflicts hanging their head in shame after being berated by a journalist. Then Shein started snickering softly before saying.
"I love you both, but seriously, when you two get together they seriously consider evacuating parts of the forge district in case one of your guy's experiments goes awry. Again. Anyway, let's eat, I'm hungry."
The two old men smiled at each other and gave a chuckle before joining Shein at the table. Shein was munching on the fried tentacle of an octopus when ferrick turned to her father.
"How's the artificial blackhole coming along?"
"Swimmingly, it just stabilized last night and is ready for observa-"
The two men were distracted from their conversation by Shein slamming her head into the table. Her voice muffled as she stated.
"You two are the dumbest fucking geniuses I know. Dad, please for the love of God, get rid of the black hole."
Dr.Frank sheepishly looked between ferrick and his daughter. Ferrick shrugged as if to say.
'might as well be honest old man'
Clearing his throat Dr.Frank sheepishly replied.
"Sweetheart, it's a black hole... The most I can do is keep it stable until it runs out of energy."
Shein looked at her father.
"And how long will that take?"
Her father grimaced.
"More... More than two hundred and fifty thousand years give or take."
Shein just groaned as she lowered her head back to the table. Quietly muttering to herself.
"How can they be so smart yet so dumb at the same time. Thank God neither of them care about intergalactic domination."
Ferrick turned back to Dr.Frank, a smile creeping onto his face as he overheard Shein's mumblings.
"So how's the manifesto going Frank?"
"FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK YOU TWO, JUST BE NORMAL FOR FIVE SECONDS!"
The exasperated reporter cried out. Sending both Ferrick and Dr.Frank into howls of laughter as she finally realized they were fucking with her.
"You two are insufferable. One of these days you're going to give me an aneurysm with your antics."
She chuckled and shook her head.
"Glad you didn't actually make a black hole dad."
The two men's laughter suddenly stopped and they shared a glance.
Shein pinched her nose and sighed defeatedly.
"Scratch that, I think I just had one. I'm going home before you two summon some eldritch horror or something."

I've been playing heists these last few weeks after having taken many, many years off from GTA 5 on PC. My return has proven to be incredibly difficult.
Today while playing the Signal bank heist setup job, the game does not spawn the cutscene on the island where you extract him to the farm. This was a mission I was hosting. I also am having a near impossible time joining others' heists.
I have several friends who invited me to play the Casino Diamond, and Perico heists. Both have bugged resulting in keycards being missing and also players and vehicles not being able to move. I've been playing perfectly fine these last several weeks up until these last three days. Any help will be appreciated.
I want to enjoy this. It takes so much TIME to make money without having any of the new Agency, Organization, Office, etc mechanic's purchased. I also missed out on a $2.7 million payment from Perico when they didn't arrive.

Is MS data science course in University of Adelaide a tough course. I'm from computer science background with bachelor's degree (4 years).
Also has nearly 5 years of industrial experience in Software development, database technologies and in DevOps.
I will rate myself as a mediocre in mathematics. But I've skill and interests in database filtering using complex queries in large DB.
Is opting the Data Science course as good option, considering my case ?

Eventually the goal is to work nearly fully remote and make $100k a year, I realize I shouldn't expect either of those things initially. I live in San Diego which I think is a HCOL area. I have 10 years hospitality management experience and currently manage a busy cocktail bar, so I have some experience in both fields. I generally find myself enjoying the accounting parts of my job over the HR parts. In general I prefer the office parts of my job and tend to gravitate towards anything administrative.
The university that I'm applying to offers a BS/MS 150 credit hours program that sets you up to take the CPA exam. They also have a HR management BS.
From what I've gathered becoming a CPA will take longer, cost more, and pay less. I find accounting more interesting than HR and it seems that it's more likely to be remote vs. HR.
I'm considering HR because it does seem interesting and the money seems pretty good. I'm worried it would be too emotionally taxing though. Solving other people's conflicts exhausts me.
I appreciate any guidance.

This wifi connection is necessary when the android auto connection is without USB cable.

First trip to Vegas review:
I found the games in Vegas to be much tighter than my local casinos in Edmonton or Calgary.
I played probably 30 hours total between Mandalay, Aria, MGM and the Golden Nugget. I'm a fairly tight player, but I like to splash around with loose/aggressive play too, especially to take advantage of other tight players. Nothing more fun than busting a tight player with some stupid ass 2-pair or straight when they have a high pocket pair.
In Vegas there seems to be quite a few new players, which is good, but there isn't a lot of splashing around going on. It's super common to have post-flop action with only 2 or 3 players after a raise to $7 or $10.
It's good in a way because you can bluff more and fold easily when the tight players are betting hard.
Locally in Alberta there are far more regulars/gamblers that play loose aggressive and it makes it really hard to play if you buy in for less than $300. It seems like every pot is raised to $15 or much higher pre-flop, and you're playing for half your stack to see a showdown.
One night at MGM a player sat down with $800 to make sure he covered the whole table, then started pushing everyone around. If you want to play, it's going to be for your whole stack. Reminded me of home!
In Vegas you can sit down with $100 and nurse it all day, especially before nightfall. I was buying in for $200 instead of my usual $300 back home. There were several times I was down to $75 or lower, and I still didn't feel that short stacked. You just wait for your opportunities and build back up.
Overall the Golden Nugget was my fav by far. The old-school vibe, the crazy busy casino floor, and the game itself was just better. I even liked the players there more.. it's more laid back, and the table chatter is chill. The cocktail service was much worse though lol.. I was just nursing a headache and coffees all day, so that's no biggie for me.
Verdict is I really like the games I played in Vegas, but my style of play doesn't really lend well to building a huge stack there. I was down $500 near the beginning of my trip and built back up to roughly $150 up for the week. Overall I'll call it a success, and tons of fun.
I can't wait to go back.

  • Inexplicably, Adnan waited seven years between this date and filing for post conviction relief. Maryland law allows no more than 10 years from sentencing to file for PCR. Asia's affidavit was obtained in 2000.
  • Rabia wrote in her book that Adnan felt burned by the system, exhausted of funds, and didn't want to use up his last available option. He wanted to hold onto hope.
  • In 2014, after the first two episodes of Serial were released, Rabia lied to the readers of her blog. She told them that Adnan was forced to wait 10 years to apply for post conviction relief. But Rabid knew that Adnan could file in 2003, and she knew why he waited. In 2014, Rabia didn't want anyone to know that spending seven years in prison doing nothing was Adnan's choice, and strategy.

• Events described by various parties as follows:
  
  • Urick first PCR: Before Asia called him, he didn't know about the PCR motion. She was concerned if she had to come out here. I explained to her, I was not her attorney. But I told her that she would have to be served. And if she was served, and if they made the proper arrangements, she would have to show up.
  • Serial, Episode 1: Asia's fiancé comes to the door, opens it part way, tells the investigator that she cannot speak to Asia, but that from what he knows of Adnan's case, Adnan is guilty and deserved the punishment he got.
  • Rabia: Adnan’s PI returns with terrible news. Asia won’t testify. The PI never spoke to her, but her fiance made it very clear, in a very nasty way that suggested an anti-Muslim prejudice, that Asia would not be involved and to leave them alone . . . Faced with a tough decision, [Justin Brown] decides to submit [Asia's] letters but not subpeona her for the appeal hearing.
  • Asia Affidavit: In the late spring of 2010, I learned that the Syed defense team was attempting to contact me. I was initially caught off guard by this and did not talk to them.
  • 2016 PCR: Asia testified that her husband met the PI outside, then came inside and told her he thought it was about that girl that got killed. That she asked her husband to take the man's card, but she didn't talk to him. That she looked up the case on the internet, and called Kevin Urick. Asia says these are the notes she took during her April 11, 2010 conversation with Urick. Asia testified that Urick convinced her Adnan was guilty and that Brown was trying to play the system.

End of May, Approximate
