2023.03.25 23:56 AlmightyAsperger The final version of "King Of Thieves"
I hope you're not too annoyed with me posting one and the same thing.. This is the lastest LASTEST version of this ability, and I hope you'll like these changes I added!
King Of Thieves (Nen-dentity Theft) Type: 100% Specialization, 80% Conjuration
The user is able to conjure a cloth bag with a counter on it's side. The bag is able to store anyone's nen potential. To do so the user needs to approach his target from behind, grab them by their clothes (or aura, if they're not in a state of Zetsu), and pull. By doing so he'll be able to pull out the person's aura, which then needs to be placed in the bag. After being filled with any amount of aura the bag starts to grow it's amount by 10% every 15 seconds, it's counter is going to show what amount of aura is in the bag afer growth. The user is able to retrieve any amount of aura (with a limitation) out of the bag anytime he wants and add it to his own Aura Points.
Limitations: - The amount of aura that gets stolen depends on how hard the user grabs the target: A pinch - 5%;
All fingers - 12.5%;
Full-power clutch - 25%;
- You cannot steal more aura than full-force clutch allows.
- The max amount of aura you can retrieve at once can range from 1 AP to 100.000 AP.
- The bag has a cap of 1.000.000 Aura Points at which it stops generating Nen. To resume adding-up Nen you need to take any amount of aura the restriction allows out of the bag.
Friend From The Bag (Mr. Lend-A-Hand) Type: 100% Specialization, 80% Conjuration, 80% Manipulation
The user is able to pull out the exact amount of nen his target originally had and conjure their clone with said nen. The clone will be able to physically fight but just to be safe, they're created with set parameters and cannot use their nen abilities (ex: Uvogin would be able to use his Big-Bang Impact as if it was his natural strength, and not Enhancement. Of course a limitation is applied). After finishing whatever task they were given, the clones disappear and return to the bag as Nen.
Lmitations: - If the user lacks at least half aura points needed for creating the clone, their power will be greatly reduced and their stats will be a lot lower. - The user is able to ask the clones for intellectual help, like planning something for example. The result heavily relies on the clone's original Nen affinity and personality. (ex. Enhancers would offer straightforward and simple strategies, Transmuters would often offer non-serious and joke approaches, etc.) - At max nen capacity the clone's power is equal to 50% of the original person.
Lootery Lottery (Fun Fierce Frenzy!)
Type: 80% Conjuration
The user can summon a doll in a jester's hat and makeup that looks like a nutcracker named Frenzy. He sticks his upper body out of the bag and announces that the user (or anyone he needs weapons for. Can be multiple people at once) has "won a lottery", spits out a lottery ticket (or more) and disappears. When the person picks up their respective ticket it throws out a bit of confetti out of itself and turns into a random weapon with a small cloud of smoke and a poof sound. The weapon is fairly normal except that every type of weapon has a logo with Frenzy's face and "Frenzy&Co!" written under it.
Limitations: - After using the ability it becomes unaccessible for 24 hours.
- After you or the someone else are done using the weapon it poofs away and the user's nen reserve is drained by (Nen per type of the weapon x Nen per bullet shot x Nen per time of usage). Melee weapons' cost is determined by (Nen per type of the weapon x Nen per time of usage).
- You can't get more weapons if Frenzy has already disappeared.
- With each new ticket the cost of the weapons increases proportionally.

2023.03.25 23:55 NoFires4REBaron Need Advice for Concrete Walkway/Driveway Upgrade [Landlord US-WA]
Greetings Reddit Landlords! I have a property in Tacoma, WA with two houses separated by fencing. Parking for the second house is behind the garage and is not enclosed by a fence. The pathway from the second house to the parking area is a big mud pit. I bought the house late last year and have been watching for a four to five day window of good weather to add a concrete driveway and walkway to the home. The current tenants (2 adults, 3 small kids) moved in late January and will vacate and the end of April (previous tenant broke lease; these tenants are paying $250/month extra for short term lease). They’ve politely inquired about the walkway but have been patient. I’d like to start the project next week. All together it will cost me about $7k. I am NOT looking to pass this cost along to the tenant so I’d love to hear ideas/suggestions to be sure that their kids don’t ruin it before it can fully set. I will charge them if they damage it but would really, really prefer to minimize the chance of that happening. I don’t have any security cameras on site and would prefer not to have them there long-term but perhaps it makes sense to have a camera short term in case someone damages the drying concrete? Should I have them sign something that gives their permission to proceed? Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. I will let the three adult tenants in the other home know about the project but they’re unlikely to accidentally damage since their house is separated by a fence.

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” – Paulo Coelho
-----------
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) encourages people to embrace their thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for them. It is a type of therapy that aims to help people accept what is out of their control and commit to actions that enrichen their lives. ACT incorporates mindfulness skills to help individuals live and behave in ways consistent with personal values while developing psychological flexibility.
Art Based Therapeutic Work
Art based therapeutic work invites the participant to use the process of creating tangible art pieces with clear clinical intent, a less verbal or cognitive method of expression. Sometimes things that are difficult to grasp or explain in words can emerge or be uncovered through non-verbal means. Through this approach one can bridge levels of consciousness in a way that greatly informs the therapeutic process.
Brainspotting (BSP)
Brainspotting (BSP) is a powerful, focused treatment method that begins by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of distress. Emotional and body pain, the effects of trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms are held deeply in the non-verbal, non-cognitive areas of one’s neurophysiology. BSP uses bilateral sound and fixed eye positions to enhance deep, direct and powerful healing. The therapist helps the client locate internal resources to contain emotional reactions. BSP is especially applicable for treating trauma. People typically respond to traumatic experiences through primitive flight, fight or freeze instincts. BSP allows clients to significantly reduce and eliminate the tension and hyper-arousal associated with these survival instincts. Clients can look forward to integrating healing on emotional, somatic, psychological, and spiritual levels.
More information at
https://brainspotting.com Breath Work
Breath Work helps a person feels calm and focused by attuning to their body sensations and awareness. It is often combined with other approaches and techniques to buffer the distress and intense emotional experience that may accompany healing.
Buddhist Informed Therapy
This mode of therapy has aspects of conventional psychotherapy, coaching with traditional Buddhist philosophy. Buddhist psychology helps us to refrain from ways of thinking and behaving that create unnecessary suffering.
Child Centered Play Therapy
Child Centered Play Therapy is rooted in the research and studies of Gary Landreth, Ed.D., LPC, RPT-S among other notable Play Therapy theorists. The approach is focused on building a relationship at a child’s comfort level and pace of trust. This approach uses the basis of “A child’s play is their core and basic level of communication and toys are their words to use.”
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a type of talking treatment, which focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and behavior, and teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It combines cognitive therapy (examining the things you think) and behavior therapy (examining the things you do). CBT is based on the idea that the way we think about situations can affect the way we feel and behave.
Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS)
Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) is an evidence based practice that calms behavior challenges, opens up new pathways of thinking, and builds the skills to meet expectations. Helping your family member improve areas like frustration tolerance, flexibility and problem solving can improve the relationships regardless of age.
Contemplative Dialogue
Contemplative Dialogue involves deeply engaged and reflective discussion. While most therapy could potentially be described in this manner, contemplation pays particular attention to a client’s inner process and intuition. Most therapies are focused on the exchange between the mind and behavior. Contemplation seeks to open a holistic, spiritual and transcendent dimension of experience using dyadic exchange. This deepens and expands beyond traditional narrative therapy.
Dream Analysis
Dream Analysis allows the participant to document and examine messages which may be coming to them during expanded sleep states. Together, we reflect upon these messages to see what helpful information might inform the therapeutic healing process.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body’s energy system have profound negative effects on one’s emotional well-being. Correcting these imbalances, which is done by tapping on meridian points on various parts of the body, often leads to rapid relief.
Energy Healing (Reiki and other modalities)
Energy healing is a holistic practice that activates the body’s subtle energy systems to remove blocks. By breaking through these energetic blocks, the body’s inherent ability to heal itself is stimulated.
The term “reiki” comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” which means vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Some practitioners describe reiki as acupuncture without the needles. Reiki is a complementary health approach in which practitioners place their hands on or just above different areas of the body. It’s based on an Eastern medicine belief that living beings have energy fields that support their health and vitality.
Energy blocks, on the other hand, impede innate flow of energy, causing not only health problems, but also negative life circumstances like financial troubles or relationship problems. Reiki practitioners focus on sensing energy blocks and moving the energy for the greatest good of the client.
Experiential Therapy
Experiential Therapy involves a wide range of activity based work. Often there is movement involved and can be done indoors and out. Engaging through experience rather than only talking can reduce resistance and provide participants a “ground up” sense of safety and awareness of internal physical responses to stress.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Repeated studies show that by using EMDR therapy people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to make a difference. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma much as the body recovers from physical trauma. When you cut your hand, your body works to close the wound. If a foreign object or repeated injury irritates the wound, it festers and causes pain. Once the block is removed, healing resumes.
EMDR therapy demonstrates that a similar sequence of events occurs with mental processes. The brain’s information processing system naturally moves toward mental health. If the system is blocked or imbalanced by the impact of a disturbing event, the emotional wound festers and can cause intense suffering. Once the block is removed, healing resumes. Using the detailed protocols and procedures learned in EMDR therapy training sessions, clinicians help clients activate their natural healing processes.

This focused and manualized approach uses a Child-Parent Relationship Therapy model. This modality builds on Child Centered Play Therapy and presents it in a parent-friendly model and adapts core Play Therapy elements and delivers them in a way for parents to use. A common experience for participants is to experience not only increased parental confidence, but ultimately a stronger Child-Parent relationship.
Hakomi Method
The Hakomi Method of Experiential Psychotherapy, a body-centered approach that combines somatic awareness with experiential techniques to promote psychological growth and transformation. Hakomi theory holds the body to be a window to the unconscious and works to help those in therapy identify somatic indicators of unconscious beliefs and then bring these indicators into awareness, thus aiding the process of change.
HeartMath™ emWaveII
HeartMath™ emWaveII devices monitor heart wave variability to assist clients in awareness of internal states of emotional dysregulation. Using this device can help in learning awareness of internal feelings of safety and assess interaction in practicing relationship.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy involves using imagery, breathing, guided visualization and focused attention. This induces suggestibility and openness, and facilitates desired change. Hypnotherapy can have a profound and lasting positive impact on behavior and perspectives. Hypnotherapy has been an effective tool for many issues including pain management, anxiety, sleep difficulties, smoking cessation, weight management and addiction. It offers a powerful alternative to medication alone.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is an approach that identifies, addresses and validates multiple sub-personalities or families within each person’s mental system. These sub-personalities consist of wounded parts and painful emotions such as anger and shame, and parts that try to control and protect the person from the pain of the wounded parts.
Mindfulness Based Meditation
Mindfulness Based Meditation is the practice of increasing awareness by bringing one’s complete attention without judgment to the present experience on a moment-to-moment basis. Formal and informal meditation are often associated with the practice of mindfulness. This promotes a relaxed, focused and clear state of mind. Mindfulness practice is an effective intervention for trauma, attention difficulties, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, impulse control, and numerous other issues.
Non-Monogamy/Kink Informed Therapy
This mode of therapy presents a unique look at traditional and non-traditional relationship systems and uses supportive techniques to give space to create a relationship system that fits those involved. This style of therapy focuses on autonomy and choosing a style of relationship system that benefits all partners involved. It may also include increased education and assistance for those transitioning from more traditional relationships to more creative and collaborative relationship styles.
Polyvagal Theory
We come into the world wired to connect. With our first breath, we embark on a lifelong quest to feel safe in our bodies, in our environments and in our relationships with others. The autonomic nervous system is our personal surveillance system, always on guard, asking the question “Is this safe?” Its goal is to protect us by sensing safety and risk, listening moment by moment to what is happening in and around our bodies and in the connections we have with others.
This listening happens far below awareness and far away from our conscious control. Dr. Stephen Porges, who first researched PVT coined the term neuroception to describe the way our autonomic nervous system scans for cues of safety, danger, and life-threat without involving the thinking parts of our brain. Because we humans are meaning-making beings, what begins as the wordlesss experiencing of neuroception drives the creation of a story that shapes our daily living.
– Deb Dana from “The Polyvagal Theory in Therapy” Problem Solving Therapy
Problem solving therapy is a form of therapy that provides clients with tools to identify and solve problem that arise from life stressors. Problem solving therapy is very practical in its approach and is concerned with the present. This orientation embraces self-efficacy and accepts the idea that problems are a normal part of life.
Psychedelic Integration/Harm Reduction
Psychedelics assist in giving us a glimpse into the unconscious mind. With the assistance of talk therapy these medicines help us work through and examine emotions in a safe and freeing environment. Psychedelic Integration (& Preparation) Therapy involves preparing for an upcoming journey/ceremony/healing experience with a plant medicine or psychedelic medicine, and/or processing a psychedelic experience in a therapeutic context afterwards. Harm reduction comes as a part of the education of plant medicine or psychedelic so that the participant is coming into the experience with full consent and understanding of what to look for in case help is needed. It is through a healer or clinician that we can gain tools and understandings to have the experience the medicine is offering to humanity.
Sandtray
Sandtray is a powerful, non-verbal, therapeutic technique that facilitates one’s natural capacity for healing. Sandtray uses objects and figures placed in a sandtray to create scenes of miniature worlds that reflects a person’s inner thoughts, struggles and concerns. By moving the miniatures in response to a given prompt, new insights and clarity help the client overcome their struggles.
Solution Focused Therapy
Solution Focused Therapy is a goal-focused, respectful collaborative, therapeutic approach, which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, it is a hope friendly, positive emotion eliciting, and future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired change. Therapist and client carefully search through the client’s life experience and behavioral repertoire to discover the necessary resources needed to co-construct a practical and sustainable solution that the client can readily implement.
Somatic Experience (SE)
Somatic Experience (SE), “pioneered by biological physicist and psychologist Peter Levine, Ph.D., is an approach that uses internal body awareness and kinesthetic sense” (Naparstek B.,
Invisible Heroes) to gradually move past the parts of traumatic experience that feel stuck in the body. Trauma is often experienced as a frozen event in one’s body that will be repeated through time. Through an imagined oasis of calm and safety, the person is able to gradually dispel the traumatic reaction through responses the body wishes to make that were unavailable during the original traumatic event.
Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT)
Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) uses a gentle acupressure pose near the bridge of the nose, gentle pressure on the occipital area at the back of the head, and stimulation of the sixth chakra point to effect a positive change. The client focuses on a particular problem, emotion, image or sensation during this pose.
Trauma Informed Therapy
Trauma Informed Therapy is a framework for understanding the impact of trauma on the mind, body and overall well-being. Specific attention and respect is given to the detrimental effects of trauma on health, relationships, thinking and behavior. Treatment serves to clear traumatic residue which often persists long after the traumatic situation or event.

2023.03.25 23:53 alittleunreasonable warrior cat opinions have read every arc except the prequel one and have read a few on the super editions <---- if you agree with any of my opinions feel free to dm me to talk about it further
IF you agree with any of my opinions like i said feel free to dm me to talk about it further. IF you disagree that is totally fine , I probably wont respond to arguments though
Bramblestar's storm I know Jessie is considered a Mary Sue i dont neccesarily agree but even if she is the author's have that creative choice. anyways I know a lot of fans use the her being better at hunting in tree tops as evidence of this and this it doesnt make sense. For me however I always saw it as yes her learning from her mother and walking along twoleg fences helped her to be excellent at this extreme subset hunting skill and that is it. anyway my comment on Jessie isnt a character analysis or debating her. that scene people are annoyed at. for me I just find so incredibly funny even if I agree they are right and it doesnt make sense. the "shook" reactions of the clan cats is just so memey and funny to me in my head
Leopardstar's super edition and some others seeing Firestaheart etc from a position that isnt his own and isnt within thunderclan puts into perspective his dopeness and legitness and like basically his good qualities as a cat and leader
the Erins like to do what im calling the peak effect they like to pick one moment or sequence in a relationship at any point to define how close the cats are and give the impression that all their litttle hints and moments were doing that all along. and some pairings fall more strictly onto this pattern and others less so
I think they changed silverstream's characterization to be more prissy like even in the retelling like with Leoapardstar's super edition etc. in the original series she has a sharp sense of humor, she loves deeply, and moves her self with grace . this turns into prissy, idealistic, and haughty later.
tallstar super edition i love tallkit. i think they took the cheap route when dealing with his conflict with his father. furthermore i wish they delved more emotionally with his bond with jake.
i dont get why greystripe when as temporary leader would have lionblaze as deputy like he knows lionblaze acted violently and recklessly in atime of crisis and isnt a good leader and greystripe is old yet... like omg. how can greystripe be so wise as a leader yet make a stupid decision like that that completely undoes that characterization make it make sense
i wish they used Millie's ability to speak with dogs. i also liked those two kittens who could speak dog i wished they used that moment more
It doesnt make sense to me that Shadowclan would disrespect Littlecloud at the end of life like that even given the state of the clan at the time. they one valued the clan for things they couldnt get themselves immediately which littlecloud provided time and time again. But also culturally imo shadowclan is a clan who values assimilation, they value people getting them and eachother. like my point is I dont think its in character for Shadowclan even of that time to do that to Littlecloud. also it is SO disrespectful to that character (Littlecloud ) i really hated that choice
Puddleshine in AVOS had to already be extremely compassionate, be good at risk assessing, be very intuitive./ instinctive to be able to do what he did and on top of that he not only grew into those skills but became adept at them largely as well in dealing with and sussing out different cats, moments, and communicating with them. all while being his upbeat cheerful self or demeanor. i love his character he's my favorite. however in TBC they toss all of that aside for the sake of drama and conflict. instead of going okay you have these skills qualities now we are putting it to the test. it would deepen things imo. like based on how his character has developed been established his relationship with shadowsight makes no sense. though i do like their scene at the end together i really love that one.
I know people don't like tigerheartstar but imo he isn't unfair. like for example he said as long as shadowclan is at its current size skyclan can have more territority it is conditional purposal he laid out the conditions when those conditions are no longer met its not their land. to push the narrative he is worse then he is rather then how he executes his decisions or follows through on them being bad horrible. Up until he takes over riverclan every decision of his has made sense and fit his character. except for when he bans shadowsight from medicine cat duties. i think whenever they need to add a major plot conflict or emotional conflict for a main character they have him do something out of character
i loved that runningnose was mentoring puddleshine from starclan i hate that yellowfang took over; they overuse her character.
sunningrocks belongs to river clan. just based upon the fact the distance of land which marks the end of their territory did not change the river simply shrunk
it would have been interesting to see oakheart become oakstar while bluefur was bluestar
especially in these newer books a lot of these mentors need training in mentoring lol. and what is it with the whole im now a shitty mentor character arch they all go through
it would have been interesting if darktail and violetkit developed a genuine healthy adoptive father adoptive daughter bond/kinship whilst he was still that awful cat imo
needletail figured out the thing with the thunderpaths and monsters i dont get why that strategy for crossing hasnt been past down
they had some interesting philisophical conflicts in avos at the start which they introduced and then never dived into lol
ivypool's mate offers to be in nursery instead of her and yet they never have that actually happen which was so dissapointing
i really loved hawkfrost and mothwing's relationship as kits. i really would have prefered if the story was hawkfrost was aware how prejudiced the clans were an just wanted moth to be able to happily live her dreams and protect her but it did it in these shady ways. instead of what he turned out to be. also wasting a cool name imo
i like the name twigbranch
i hate how finleap pressures twigbranch not just cuz its shitty but also cuz it makes no sense for his character. like he left because he loved her in it of itself more then he loved his intrinsic need for family and belonging etc. and then he goes well i thought id get that and thats why i left makes no sense
if mothwing was so worried about cats having dangerous blind faith why put shadowsight next to the cat who is supplying him the dangerous blind faith and isolate him. like?????
crowfeather and leafpool in starclan together were so cute i really felt their romance their

2023.03.25 23:52 lakija Secret Dragon - 5B: Perfection
Secret Dragon 5B: Perfection
[Chapter 5A: Perfection abridged. Less Explicit but still very steamy.]
—
The distant storm he had banished returned from that deep place in him, now a tempest. He put his mouth against my neck. We will go slow he whispered. I shivered in response.
Vibrations wound their way through my body. Sound waves reverberated off bones. The pounding of his heart beat in time with mine. It was a song made of storms. I needed to be swept up in it.
He kissed me softly with rolling flames all over. Every inch of my scales was being annealed, preparing to be forged into something lost to time.
Where the fire touched, my scales glowed red hot, like embers. Savor this, he whispered. He brought his mouth to mine, kissing me amidst his flames.
His everything moved in perfect harmony with mine. I surrendered myself fully to him, waxing and waning, a boat on the waves.
Sasha knew the way I wanted to be touched. The way I wanted to be loved on. The way I wanted to be handled.
We had reached the peak of this volcano. Sasha’s wings stretched to their full span. This man had conquered me.
Something broke free inside me, then, something dormant in my core.
Flames erupted from his mouth and nose, engulfing our bodies entirely. I clutched at Sasha’s back, digging my claws into it.
…
I was being baptized, dipped backward into a deep river of fire by his strong hands. But I did not emerge from the surface; instead, I plunged deeper, into a vision of darkness, revealing the cosmos itself.
The Sun, my everything in this universe, my namesake, loomed ahead. It beckoned me, and I rushed toward that bright star without hesitation. When I entered, a searing pain began in my back, their two points of origin so telling. So unmistakable. It was like I was being ripped apart. Yet I felt nothing but joy in that pain. I came out the other side a streak of gold rushing down from the depths of the sun’s core back to earth. Back to reality. What was this?
…
Light filled the room as my eyes burst open. I heard the billowing of air as our bodies rose from the bed. His claws held my waist, my back arched.
White hot wings of light drifted in and out of my peripheral vision from behind me. They were the brightest, most beautiful things I had ever seen. As if possessed, I held both sides of his face stared deeply into his soul until his eyes glowed like an inferno. White hot fire manifested itself across his wings. Radiant and full of light. Like mine. I released him.
We were suspended in the air, frozen in time, silent. No longer were we mere mortals in that moment. We were glorious, and terrible. Divine beings, forged in lava and cosmic energy.
Slowly, gently, all the flames began die. My wings softly dispersed until they were no more. His hands held me as we drifted downward. His eyes and wings both dimmed back into their normalcy.
The fireplace was, once again, the only source of light in the room.
Our chests heaves from the intensity of what had just transpired. We stared at each other, wild eyed. His wings lowered, somewhat. Our senses returned to us.
My hands shook as I touched his cheek, rubbing his scales.
We held each other’s gaze. Eventually, he closed his eyes, wrapping his arms around me tenderly, and his wings enveloped me.
For a long time, we just lay there together, still smoldering in the aftermath of that eruption. That awakening. The only sounds now were our shallow breaths, and the fire which crackled behind us.
We had gone elsewhere. Some distant place lost to time where our history lie in ruins. Where a rend in the crust had torn our people asunder in ages past. And that pull of his call to me? It felt so strongly, as if our souls were old things in that distant place, once known to each other but cleaved violently and unjustly.
We had awoken in mundanity that morning. Mostly normal people living a mostly normal life. Now who were we meant to be?
The end and the beginning of all things. The answer to questions not yet asked.
We were perfection.

2023.03.25 23:51 Practical-Cut-1299 please give me some advice
Hello, I would like to get opinions from others in regards to what I am going through. I have been married for 8 years to this korean guy. I am spanish so our cultures are a bit differently. I sponsor him and brought him to live with me in Canada. He comes from a very poor living environment and I promise him that i would support his dreams and goals. This past years he only focus on studying in University while I worked full-time to support both myself, him and my son. This past years have been super difficult in our marriage, he has always been unfaithful with other women from online and has once even met a women in person behind my back. Anyways, because i felt so sorry for him, I gave up on my dreams to help him achieve his. I was able to only graduate to college since I couldn't afford to continue my studies since i had to work to support my family. I am currently working and studying again full time to get another college diploma. However, my husband always complains that I am low quality because i dont have an university degree, i cant cook food like he wants, and also because my body is still the same as before. He wants me to read books and build muscle and be super fit but the problem is i dont have time. I work from 7:30 till 5:30 and get home almost 7pm and have to study as well. I do go to the gym at least 3 times a week but it is super hard to build muscle. I dont consider myself ugly but average petite and weight only 110 pounds but for him, is not enough. I feel like he wants me to do be like his online girlfriends who are much prettier than me. They also have higher education than me. He constantly complains, that i am downgrading his life because my job doesn't pay enough since i am only a daycare teacher. He saids he cant love me, if i dont work hard enough to improve myself and be more successful. He wants me to do be like him, study for hours and go gym, but i told him, i dont have the time he does. He saids i am just saying excuses to build myself to be better. He calls me lazy, and saids that me cleaning the home is not a hardworking behaviour. He wants a successful women, and i am not for him. I told him, I married him even though he had no money or education before and that he should see how hard i have work in order to help pay his education for him to successful. He saids if i dont work hard, he cant love me. His favourite thing to do is to take me otuside work a walk just to yell at me in front of other people. He said i shouldnt care about what other people think, and the embarrasement i feel cant be compare to the pain i make him feel. I dont think, i am being lazy, i work full-time and provide for my family and on top of that i study full time and i do the best i can.

2023.03.25 23:50 StepwiseUndrape574 GTA 6 Report Details Rockstar’s First Bonnie And Clyde-Like Female Protagonist
Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most profitable entertainment franchises in the history of games. It came along as a return to form after what many fans would argue was a misstep with the more gritty and realistic GTA 4. Originally released back in 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3—yes, it spans three console generations—developer Rockstar has supported the game's online mode with continual updates adding new content, new areas, and even all-new mechanics.
GTA V was such a runaway success—and GTA The Trilogy: Definitive Edition was such a dumpster fire—that Rockstar gave up working on a Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC, and has now reportedly abandoned plans to remaster more of its beloved older titles to instead focus on both further GTA Online content as well as the development of GTA 6.

Naturally, expectations for GTA 6 are incredibly high, and given the advanced age of GTA V, fans are chomping at the bit for any bit of news. That's why there's so much buzz around a report at Bloomberg that focuses on Rockstar's new corporate culture. Company co-founder Dan Houser left Rockstar in 2020, and ever since then the development house has been trying to reshape a corporate culture that the report refers to as being "like a frat house".
Given the nature and tone of the humor in the Grand Theft Auto series, it's really not surprising to hear that the atmosphere inside Rockstar was juvenile and chauvinistic. The report remarks that the workplace culture at Rockstar was "full of drinking, brawling, and excursions to strip clubs." That may sound like a good time to some, but it's admittedly not very professional.
gta1 katie Katie from the OG Grand Theft Auto (1997) on PC (left) and Game Boy Color (right).
As part of the report, author Jason Schreier casually reveals that GTA 6 will have at least two playable protagonists, and that one of them will be a Latina woman. This technically isn't the first playable woman nor even the first playable Hispanic woman in the GTA series; the very first GTA game featured a Latina named "Katie" as one of its eight playable characters.
Still, very few of the series' modern fans even remember the old DOS-based Grand Theft Auto, so we can forgive everyone for forgetting about poor Katie. Regardless, the new girl will apparently be part of a Bonnie-and-Clyde-like crime duo, calling to mind the partnership between Claude and Catalina in the beginning of Grand Theft Auto III. Hopefully the partnership between the new player characters in GTA 6 doesn't end the same way that one did.

very steamy version of this chapter, I got you!

Suggested Listening:
Floetry Say Yes Eryn Allen Kane Have Mercy — The distant storm he had banished returned from that deep place in him, now a tempest. He put his mouth against my neck. We will go slow he whispered. I shivered in response.
Vibrations wound their way through my body. Sound waves reverberated off bones. The pounding of his heart beat in time with mine. It was a song made of storms. I needed to be swept up in it.
He kissed me softly with rolling flames. From my lips to my neck, then over the plates between my breasts. Over my belly. My hands slid to his shoulders as he worked his down my thighs. Every inch of my scales was being annealed, preparing to be forged into something lost to time.
Sasha’s tongue trailed back up my leg. His claws caressed my legs between my thighs. So I invited him into my house, for there was a feast prepared for him.
My scales prickled where his tongue trailed up my inner thighs. The deep growl of his throat sent vibrations inside me. I could see steam roll off my body into clouds. The heat of his fire was awakening my flesh, my core. His tongue searched me until he found my pleasure, as if he had a roadmap to it. He ate me, not like like a starving man, but one of refined tastes. “Right there,” I moaned. “Yes.” And slowly, he explored that place. My secret place. A whimper escaped my mouth. My claws dug into the mattress.
My imagination at its most creative, at its most hungry, could not have conjured this ecstasy. Gods, have mercy.
When Sasha got his fill of me, I had only a moment’s reprieve.
I felt the heat traveling up slowly. Where the fire touched, my scales glowed red hot, like embers. I shuddered as his strong hands trailed up my body. Savor this, he whispered.
He brought his mouth back to mine, kissing me, letting me taste of myself amidst his flames.
Then he entered me.
I moaned as his body pressed against me, his manhood filling me. I pulled him closer until the rhythms of his breath, his heart, his storm were mine. His everything moved in perfect harmony with mine. I surrendered myself fully to him, as he stroked me, waxing and waning, a boat on the waves.
Sasha knew the way I wanted to be touched. The way I wanted to be loved on. The way I wanted to be handled. He gave me the most intense pleasures I had felt in my life.
We had reached the peak of this volcano. Sasha’s wings stretched to their full span. This man had conquered me. But the way my voice rang out in that room at that last push? It broke free something dormant in my core.
Our bodies steamed in the darkness, chests heaving from the intensity of what had just transpired. We stared at each other, wild eyed. He withdrew from me, wings lowering somewhat. Our senses returned to us.
My hands shook as I touched his cheek, rubbing his scales. There was blood on my claw from where I had dug into his back past his scales.
We held each other’s gaze. Eventually, he closed his eyes, wrapping his arms around me tenderly, and his wings enveloped my steaming body.

2023.03.25 23:47 RodmunchPHD Heroines of the Penninsula: Ladies Only Thracia Introduction & Chapters 1-3
Inspired by
u/sapphicmage and her Girls Only Genealogy run I've decided to try a similar challenge by playing Thracia 776 with a similar challenge. While the basic idea of "Girls Only" is simple enough, I want to outline the ruleset I'm using because Thracia is a significantly different beast than Genealogy & it'll require a unique set of rules. Without further ado lets lay out the rules, if you see something that seems odd let me know & I'll discuss it & take it into consideration.
Men may:
- Recruit units they normally would, even if they're another man for the sake of their inventory.
- Trade their items or deposit them in the convoy.
- For any instance where a man is required to be on the map & there is no alternative he will be unarmed & avoid as much combat as is feasible within the game's context. This may be impossible in some cases like Chapter 19 or 20.
- May be deployed to hit deployment minimums.
- May trigger unique events for items that can be given to other units (ie Halvan may acquire his Brave Axe for the sake of Machuya).
- Act as convoys for Manster Arc, including whatever Leif & Lifis can drag with them.
Men cannot:
- Fight in combat with a weapon equipped.
- Participate in side objectives on any chapter (visiting villages, carrying green units, using staves)
- Occupy important spaces even when force deployed (ie standing on villages to prevent bandits from burning them).
Again if anything seems odd or omitted let me know and I can go back and fix it. Without further ado though lets get into how this run went so far!
Starting off this session we get 3 units total. Eyvel & Tanya arrive in Chapter 1 and Safy arrives in Chapter 3. Overall this is pretty brutal, it's not great but with Eyvel's immortality we have enough killing power to live long enough. We should have enough vulns to live with enough lucky dodges, but either way lets go over some analysis of each chapter.
Chapter 1
Something I always take for granted was the build stat most men have. Fun fact, Eyvel has 7 build and most enemies roll between 8-10 build on average. The first time I capture an enemy is in Chapter 3 so we are running dry on resources for a while here. Training Tanya is fun, but I break her Iron Bow here so I essentially just make her as good of a dodge tank is possible while Eyvel sweeps the rest. Pretty uneventful all around, but this whole "No Capture" issue will really rear its ugly head soon.
Chapter 2
Not too much different, Eyvel walked to all 3 villages while Tanya held the bridge where all the boys cowered behind her. She's gotten past 10 speed at this point so she's moderately dodgy & Eyvel is cleaning up the pirates she can. Eventually I hold at the bridge to the right of the start & with Ronan's Iron Bow Tanya starts killing again. I slow down her rampage since 2x and 3 are coming up, but I still can train weapon rank with a broken bow which only weighs her down by 8 speed! Either way the villages were the only tense part of this map, otherwise it was Eyvel tanking with a broken sword & Tanya training with a broken bow. Flame Sword goes brrr and kills boss.
Chapter 2x
Well this one was a bit of a doozy because I actually had to drag the men with me this time since they bait some of the reinforcements that spawn by Lifis. My convoy of slugabeds rolls up behind Eyvel & Tanya tearing through enemies. I'm conserving some Iron Bow uses, but we get though the chapter with moderate speed & besides Finn taking 2 hits on the last turn it's a smooth chapter all around. No torches to sell because I didn't have time for them honestly, but Lifis and his scroll was acquired and we move on to the actual problem chapter.
Chapter 3
Going into this I realized the villages were going to be a wash so I really had to work to try and get the Warp staff. With Safy available I knew that was going to be my only solution for Chapter 12 and by god am I not about to try and massacre my way through Dackia Woods with whoever is even available by then. Once I cleared out the gate guards Eyvel rampaged into the prison, got Corpul, and got back while Tanya sat on Corpul's house and kept killing foes. I hammerned one of Tanya's bows for more XP & so I can inch closer to A staves because I really don't want to have to Master Seal Safy if I don't have to. Otherwise this was a smooth chapter, but I did perform a mild trick to save myself some time in the future. Since you have to hit deployment minimums even through fatigue, I decided to execute Orsin, Halvan, and Ronan to make sure I could play through Chapter 8 even with fatigued units. This means Brighton, Hicks, and Fergus might have to bite it come Manster, but I'll leave that one for later me to manage. Overall this chapter was tough, but I got most of what I needed & brought what equipment I could for Mach, Lara, and Karin to carry me through Manster.
Btw the statboosters are getting saved, HP ring for Lara & Speed ring for Nanna or Mach because it's going to be tough otherwise. Unit pics below.
Woo I love Tanya's stat spread woo!, btw she has 84 fatigue.
Eyvel just looks like Eyvel nothing to see here
You can't see it but she has B staves and that's all that matters
Excited to update you all on whatever hell Manster brings, but it should be juicy!

2023.03.25 23:45 Sirfluffyfurball So what do we think after two beta weekends?
With two beta weekends almost behind us, I'd love to discuss and hear your opinions. I'm not a game developer and don't claim to know what's best for the game or other players, so let me know in the comments what you think!
First impressions:
- They nailed the atmosphere + look and feel. Visuals and sound is near perfect. Game is dark!
- Combat feels great. Aside small performance issues like stuttering and area transitions, combat and movement felt butter smooth, responsive and tight. Attacks had weight to them and everything was telegraphed well.
- Open world works surprisingly well, I think they made a good balance between traditional solo experience and living world. I'm still unsure about timed events (Helltide and World Bosses), but as long as they don't gate you out of progression it could be fine.
- Story is well written and the world felt very Diablo. I'm honestly invested in the story already.
Dungeons:
- My favorite dungeon was Immortal Emanation. Objective was to destroy 5 "shrines", layout was circular with no backtracking.
- Dungeons are a bit repetitive with the requirements for opening the boss room and almost identical layouts. Running Den of Evil 20 times in a row isn’t my idea of a fun Saturday afternoon.
- Dungeon objectives that require a lot of backtracking, such as ”kill all monsters” or ”find two keys”, can feel like work instead of play.
- My solution would be to change the current requirements to optional, similar to how the world events work. You get a bonus for doing something extra. Maybe the boss is easier or it drops more loot? It would be up to the player if they prefer faster clear times or better loot at slower pace.
- I would also like to see them increase the number of dungeon layouts, maybe more circular and open areas instead of cross or tunnel like layouts.
Area Scaling:
- Area scaling in it's current form doesn't really allow the player to feel progression. If enemies are as difficult at lvl 1 as they are at lvl 25, has the player actually become any stronger?
- I think the biggest benefits of area scaling are multiplayer events and keeping all content viable for end game. What if they used area scaling only in some, not all scenarios?
- Area scaling is ON in world events, world bosses and other instances where different level players are working together.
- Area scaling is OFF in lower World Tiers when playing through the campaign to make the player feel more powerful when revisiting previous areas. This has the benefit of allowing overleveling if a player wishes to do so or a faster progression of side quests.
- Area scaling is ON in higher World Tiers to make all content viable in end game.
Gameplay:
- World Tier 2 could use some low level uniques. Why leave the fun build enabling stuff for end game? I believe this would keep players in seasons longer, not shorter, as they try different classes and builds.
- Elixirs. I love the idea of elixirs to compliment your build or fill out some missing resistances, but I don't think it's a good idea to have XP boosts in them. It's just "another thing you have to micro manage" to keep playing optimally. I know most players probably don't mind, but XP consumables are a trick from a bag I'd like to keep closed.
- Skill level cap and skill synergies. I love what they did with class mechanics and skill trees! But with only 7 points on the main skill, you end up having multiple skills with similar power levels (which decreases build variety). Increasing the skill level cap from 5 to X or adding D2 style skill synergies would fix this. You could spread out the points or focus on your main skill, more options for players. I'm glad they have +skill items again!
- Necromancer minions are so bright and colorful. I understand why, but please give us an option to choose between cartoon and diablo looking skeletons. I want my minions to look just like enemy skeletons, with dark and muted colors.
Early game resource management:
- Druid especially felt difficult to manage spirit. I could use two core skills from full spirit, then I'm out of juice. Passive regeneration was non-existent. It's really hard to get a feel of the different skills when you can only use them two times. But maybe I'm just used to D2 mana potions?
- With 1 skill point you could get 3 extra spirit to raise the mana pool from 100 to 103. Tornado costs 39 spirit. Feels like a poor investment compared to what else you can get with a skill point? To be fair, you could also get 30% reduction to spirit cost with four skill points, which felt totally acceptable and helped massively.
- After investing few passive points and finding legendaries with resource generation, I respecced to Storm Strike and Pulverize (Shockwave + Mangled aspects) and the druid felt fine.
User Interface:
- UI changes. I would love to see a more classic version of UI, perhaps with a font better suited for Diablo, but still preserving readability. I would be happy with the title font used for item names (on tooltips) being used for all text you see on the open world: Items on the ground, enemy names, damage numbers**.** I don't mind a narrower font in tooltips, chat box and other UI elements that aren't visible all the time. Maybe give us some options in the settings to choose from?
- More skill slots. 4 + 2 is a bit restrictive for some builds, adding couple more would help a lot and promote build variety and player choice.
- Option to zoom out camera further away. A simple slider in settings should do the trick.
- Overlay map. This is just how I'm used to playing these games, it's a lot safer than having to open the full map and not seeing what's happening on screen.
I played Barbarian to lvl 25, but have played all the classes in D4.
With some tweaking and updates I’m excited to see the future of Diablo when D4 launches.

It’s time to crush it. I want you to take a moment and imagine a world where you could… Never worry about money ever again. Build a six figure marketing agency and the best part? it’s a reality that all of my students are living RIGHT NOW. Take care of your family & loved ones. Yeah… this is something close to my heart. My marketing agency finally allowed me to take care of my mom and the people who believed in me when I had nothing. Travel the world, anytime! Yes… that’s right. After this course you will have the location freedom to travel anywhere in the world you want! Now, who is the genius (kidding… kinda) behind this whole course? Let me introduce myself, my name is Iman. At the age of Seventeen, I dropped out of high school to commit to the world of online marketing. Within my first year I had made over $300,000+, I had traveled the world working from my computer, I had constructed my dream lifestyle and this was all done through the power of what I teach in Six Figure SMMA. I run my own digital marketing agency based out here in London, although we have clients out in Amsterdam and St. Tropez. I have my personal brand which is another six figure business… Then I have a few other smaller income streams here and there. I love the internet! Haha Damn… I worked hard for this life. I worked hard to create the sort of income where I can take care of my family and not even check the price… I guess that’s why I’m so passionate about what I teach. It’s because it changed my life in unexplainable ways. I don’t think I could ever go back to my old life after living like this. submitted by AutoModerator to GenkiCourses_2023 [link] [comments] |
2023.03.25 23:43 kaleviko [All] How Brando felt
In P10, Anthony Sinclair convinced Mitchum Brothers that Douglas Jones had been plotting against them and denied the 30 million insurance payment that should have been theirs. Back home, the brothers were sizzling with rage.
As usual, we got a little dilemma to make sense of. Rodney was already sitting on the sofa when Bradley walked to him.
Rodney: "Now I know... how Brando felt."
As Rodney said that, he lifted his finger, pointing somewhere up. Framed on the centerline of the screen, in the two-dimensional direction of his finger,
there was a black sculpture or vase that was vaguely humanoid, like a man cut from the middle.
There is no specific idiom linked to Marlon Brando's feelings. The actor had a long and illustrious career, and there are countless quotes from him that could this or that way be applied to the situation. Apparently some twisty path would again explain what Rodney's quip was all about.
As usual, let's work with what we got. Earlier in P4, Andy and Lucy's son Wally Brando showed up for a brief visit. He and Marlon Brando shared the same birthday, like his parents explained to Hawk in the opening episode, thus the name. True to his namesake, Wally arrived dressed up as Brando's character
Johnny Strabler from
The Wild One (1953).
Here's Johnny! This was probably meant to limit our options for Rodney's riddle. What Brando felt was somehow linked to
The Wild One. The movie is pretty quotable, so we would still need something to narrow down the search.
Adding to the riddle, Rodney appeared to urge us
make sense of the black sculpture on the shelf. Furthermore, before Bradley sat down, he stopped briefly so that his whiskey
on the rocks was right next to the sculpture. Then, just before Rodney pointed at it, Bradley loudly shook the ice cubes in his glass.
We really want you to notice that. If we didn't get these hints, the ice was also pointed out to us by typically inconsistent editing. Already when the scene started, Sandie the cocktail girl brought a bowl of ice to the kitchen counter. But when there was a quick cut to the girls at 39:41, she was shown
bringing it to the counter again.
You can never have too much ice. Going back to Wally a bit, he didn't only give us Johnny Strabler, but he also explained how shadows work.
Wally: "My shadow is always with me. Sometimes ahead. Sometimes behind. Sometimes to the left. Sometimes to the right. Except on cloudy days ... or at night."
Taking the cue from the rocks and a shadow at night, this leads us to P16. It was night, and Richard was climbing a hill, with his
shadow cast
on the rock. The likely association we needed to notice was that Mitchums'
sculpture resembled Richard's shadow. Like the sculpture, it appeared as if cut in the middle due to the rock having an uneven surface.
Nobody there. Richard's shadow seems to have been part of another riddle about "
nobody's home" which implied the season's dialog used the pronoun "nobody" as a covert reference to Richard's character who magically burnt to oblivion on the rock - once he was gone,
there was no body left. It was further implied that in this story of all kind of doubles, the "nobody" left was actually his shadow that now magically existed on its own without the body, like Wally hinted it might. It was night after all, and you might lose your shadow.
Putting these observations together, we would get the likely Brando quote. It was the famous one from
The Wild One.
Johnny Strabler: "Nobody tells me what to do."
This was immediately demonstrated. After saying he knew how Brando felt and pointing towards the black sculpture, Rodney straightened up so that the work of art got behind his head. Then he started telling what they would do.
Rodney: "Calling him tomorrow, this Douglas Jones ... to set up a meeting."
The apparent implication was that it was actually the "nobody", present in the room as the sculpture, whispering to Rodney what the plan was. As nobody told him what to do, he knew how Brando felt.

2023.03.25 23:43 fauxmer Yesterday I beat a white lynel in combat without armor support for the first time
(That title makes it seem like I had a tank battalion over the next ridge helping me out by offering fire support. What an image.)
I've beaten white and even silver lynels in single combat before, but so far I have only been able to do so with training wheels: level 4 amber earrings, champion's tunic, and soldier's greaves (a whopping 88 armor), which allows me to shrug off pretty much any melee weapon they hit me with for just a quarter heart of health (except the crushers, those take four hearts). The near-invulnerability provides a great base upon which to practice combat with these creatures in a safe(er) environment.
Also, if you kick a white lynel in the face, you get a really nice bow. I eventually got to the point where I'd use savage lynel bows to farm royal weapons from hinoxes, then go use the royal gear to farm lynels for savage bows. When you throw the Master Sword (here twice-upgraded to 50 damage) into the mix, you violate the laws of thermodynamics; you get more goodies out of the process than you need to sustain it.
But I wanted to complete the Trial of the Sword. To unlock the full potential of the Master Sword. I admit, I'm not doing it because it's right or because it's what heroes do. I'm doing it because I wanted a (sorta) free top-tier weapon that (sorta) never breaks.
Also the sword glows.
So I take the Trials. One might ask if it's worth the stress and strain at this point in the game; all of the shrines have been completed, all the inventory expansions have been acquired, all the memories re-lived. There's precious little remaining on which to use an awakened Master Sword. But questions of worth fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. Ain't nobody got time for dat, I wanna hit things with a shiny stick!
I tried the trials during my first play through the game, four years ago. I didn't do well; I couldn't even complete the first set—heck, I couldn't even get half-way through the first set. This second time through I do better. It still takes a couple tries, but the first trials go down.
I put it down to playing the game on a larger screen; 32 inches, not the Switch's 6.2. It makes a huge difference; I can actually see enough detail to let me parry and dodge. With my current play through clocking in at 110 hours, 105 of those on a large screen, it astonishes me that I completed my first 70-hour playthrough entirely on the Switch's tiny screen.
I've never seen the second set of trials before this playthrough, but they're actually easier than the first, there being no water-only levels. Bomb-arrow armed bokoblins on the third floor catch me off guard the first time, but I complete the middle trials on my second attempt.
The final trials scare me. I have read the ancient texts. I know what awaits me in the deep. I know what the monks awoke in the darkness of the magic boxes. Manes... and flame... Without gads of armor to cover my ass I fear I will simply be smashed flat by these beasts. But I dive in anyway—the trials won't complete themselves. The shiny stick won't be given to me. I need to earn it.
When I get to the first rest stop, I find something that makes my heart stop. Three ancient arrows? The ancient texts made no mention of these! The only equipment notices I had were for the flamebreaker boots; a not-so-subtle 'you will spend the next five floors on fire' advertisement. I know what these arrows can do to the mere meatbags who oppose me! Five minutes ago I wasn't even worried about guardians, because lynels. But these... these. For the first time ever, I feel a little thrill of hope. If I have these, even without armor, I can beat lynels. My own little cheat code. All I have to do is tough out the guardians.
My first pass through the final trials doesn't go well. I'm nervous, twitchy. I take too many hits. I inadvertently shove my one and only hearty radish into my greedy mouth instead of the cooking pot, wasting a whole full recovery opportunity. By the time I arrive at the second rest stop, there aren't enough food items on the floor to get me back up to full health. And after that comes snow levels; I can't cook everything on this floor to bring my health up as much as possible because I need them to provide me with cold resistance for the next few floors. I get through a couple levels before I tunnel vision on the wrong target; a blizzrobe freezes me and a silver bokoblin turns me inside out.
The second attempt I make sure to take a little bit slower. I plan my attacks, I withdraw if I'm in a position I don't like, I make very careful use of the few elemental weapons I have to one-hit kill and stunlock tougher enemies. When I get back to floor 14, I don't take my chances. I oneshot the blizzrobe with a fire arrow then pull out the first of my three ancient toys and stick it right up the silver bokoblin's backside, banishing his ass to the shadow realm. I will not have another run ruined by those two.
Things proceed more or less smoothly from there. I get to floor 17 and face my first lynel, a blue. It manages to glare at me for all of 2.6 seconds before the second of my ancient arrows wipes its stupid face (and the rest of it) from existence.
The guardians on the following floors give me pause, but the lone ones are easy to abuse and the three on floor 22 don't cover each other if you approach from the right angle. They are all slowly dismantled, one by one.
And then, finally, I arrive on the final floor, 23. Here there are eight little basic red bokoblins on horseback, a guardian turret, and my sum of all fears, Mr. White. Tall, proud, buff, and ugly as all get out, it spots me immediately, screams in barely-contained ketamine-fueled rage that someone as pink as me would deign to cross its field of view, and hauls its massive bow off its back. Before it fires is all the time I have.
It's all the time I need.
I draw the royal bow. I draw the last ancient arrow. I nock this final bolt, the swansong of power on the operatic ballad of shiny sticks. I raise the bow, pointing the arrow at a space a couple feet above the lynel's face; it's a long way, after all. I draw the string.
As afraid as I am, I'm also giddy. I'm there. This will be easy. I just need to let this thing fly and the hard work will all be over. The only thing remaining will be some little pissbabies on horses and a machine that is too stupid to avoid getting stunlocked by repeatedly having arrows shoved in its eye.
I loose my ultimate weapon.
The arrow travels gallantly through the air, its tip sparking into incandescent magnificence as it crosses the open space, dripping sparkles as it flies, little harbingers of its mission of doom. The giddiness reaches a fever pitch. I'm trembling with excitement.
The arrow buries itself...
...in the dirt six inches from the Mr. White's feet.
I've fluffed it. I had one shot, literally, to get this done, and I failed.
I want to cry. These trials have been hard on me. I've had to take extended breaks in the middle of them several times already to untense myself. The prospect of doing it all over again on account of one whinnet-ridden lynel quiet frankly gives me the screaming heebie-jeebies, you know what I mean? Ten year old me would have chucked the controller and screamed in guttural German. Thankfully those days are behind me; I simply pause and walk away for a while. Did I go have a little weep? Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe screw yourself.
I like to imagine the lynel and his hangers-on spend several seconds staring at the ruined arrow on the floor in front of them, then looking back up at me with contemptuous amusement as I literally try to swallow my fear, panic, and horror all at once. Of course, the game doesn't render emotions like that, but it's a funny image.
I have an argument with myself here. I don't want to try this full-frontal combat without my training wheels armor—I'm a coward. But even more so than that, I really don't want to run through the last 22 floors of the final trials again—I'm lazy. I even consider quitting the trials and giving up on the fully-awaked Master Sword. I consider using exploits to skip the final set of trials; it's not like I haven't already made it through all these floors, right? I'd just be... you know... skipping one single floor. Sorta. That's not too unfair, right?
When I come back I heave a large 'woe-is-me' sigh and unpause.
I can't face this creature and its groupies all at once on an open field.
I run for all my sorry little Hylian twink ass is worth.
Unfortunately, that's where the story stops being so dramatic. I climb the tower in the corner after I've broken the lynel's line of sight, severely abuse the guardian turret, and hunker down on my new perch. I know I can't bow the lynel to death; I don't have enough arrows and it'll call orbital strikes down on my head. I can't engage it in direct melee combat; I have only four weapons remaining and they'll break on its face before its face does.
But I realize I can abuse the bokoblins as well. They're really no more capable than the guardian turrets are. They won't attack me en mass. I pull them over where the lynel can't see them, one at a time, and pick them off their horses and steal their weapons. After a few minutes there's nobody left in the room except myself and Mr. White. Now I have a dozen weapons; sure they aren't all great, but they're fresh.
I now have no choice other than give up here, at the last step, or just dive in and see where it goes. It's not really a choice.
What I can say is that, thankfully, the training wheels experience gave me the actual skills necessary to get the job done. Mr. White and I engage in combat I manage to take him down with a dozen broken weapons, one broken shield, and all of my hearts.
That rush when the lynel finally collapses was incredible. It was like someone had jabbed an entire thing of adrenaline directly into my heart. I mean it was probably a week's worth of dopamine in my brain, dumped all at once, but still. At this point I want to cry, again, though this time not in pain or frustration but rather pure elation such as I haven't felt in a while. I did it. I completed the Trial of the Sword. And the final trials only took me two attempts.
I'm much better at this game now than I was four years ago.
I promptly take my glowing stick and use it to club Thunderblight Ganon to death.

2023.03.25 23:42 _D00MMASTER_ Year of car part
2023.03.25 23:41 FiddleandFickle Rose Visits Home
Hello All! I have been working for some time on a small collection of short stories/vignettes to turn into a graphic novel about my cat and I at the edge of the end of the world! My goal is to tell a story about accepting changes and growth. I would really love some feedback on some of the little stories. This is my first one I am sharing! I haven't written in years, so please be kind!
------------
We creaked open the old, heavy door to reveal what appeared to be a home frozen in time. But instead of frost, it was dust that held each piece of furniture in place since what appears to be the 1990s. Underneath each layer of dust, there was a shiny cherry wood grain. Cozied on top, doilies and cold candle holders. The air, already heavy from the sprinkles of kicked up dust, was weighed down even more by the scent of amethyst, rose, mezcal and mothballs. The heaviness of the air was fitting for the scene. Here lays a life that once was light and vibrant, now long gone. Something her and I now have come to face too many times in this life. I carefully raised my eyes to see her face. I was terrified for our eyes to meet. Her round, green eyes had a darkness to them. She appeared to be away, somewhere else—perhaps in this very room at a different time.
“Just how I remembered,” she whispered in awe. Her little white paws pinched closer together just before she lied down, with all her feet tucked in. Her eyes still appearing to be somewhere else.
“Happy memories?” I felt the words well up in my throat.
“Oh yes. But, in some ways—very sad. It makes me remember when…” she paused. I knew this was coming. This was a grave mistake. Not good ever comes from digging up the past, happy or sad. The happy memories only remind you of what comes at the end. “When it all changed.”
“I understand.” I sat next to her, kicking dust in the air. I pet her head. “I’m sorry, Rose. I hope this brings you peace.” I say, assuming she is stronger than me.
“It does. It brings me closer to her.”
Silence. Rose reminisces and I meditate on her point. We have no connection to our past lives now—but more than ever I find myself wanting to live in that fantasy world. A world before everything changed. Before I left the only home I ever knew, and before the war. I wonder if Rose feels the same way with her first home. Before she lost the only person she knew to love and trust and had to grow up and find a new home to make her own. And although she is the only one I have, I wish I could give her this world back. Or at least be able to hide her from what her world has become. Maybe bringing her back here does.
This old ranch house, once warmed and decorated by eager newly-weds, worn down by 3 children, slowly became softer and quieter when the children moved out and the husband passed away, leaving Beth and later Rose as its only habitants. As a kitten, Rose found peace with Beth. There were few visitors and plenty of space to race from one room to the next. As Jazz music played, Beth would water her plants and talk to Rose about the importance of allowing something to grow. Rose learned to love Jazz and the rest of her life, let the plants around her grow without her interference.
After Beth passed and I adopted Rose, these lessons came in handy when I would accidentally purchase a Peace Lily or Alocasia—both poisonous to cats—or when I needed to relax her on a tough car ride by playing some light jazz. Throughout the years I had Rose, she would let me into this past life little by little. I always avoided the subject with her as to not pry. But here, it felt unavoidable.
I take a deep breath.
“Thank you, Beth,” I exhale.
Rose let out a soft, slow stream of tears from her eyes as she began to smile.
“Yes, thank you. I love you dearly, Beth.” Rose stands, tilts her head up as if to acknowledge Beth above in the heavens. “And thank you for allowing me to feel her here once more. It feels like a piece of me has been renewed.”
I nodded. I could not say anymore. This is her moment, and I wanted to leave it on her own terms. No questions, no pushing her towards light-hearted conversations, no heavy hitting words of wisdom…this is for her.
“I want to stay just a little longer if that’s okay.” I nodded again. She nuzzled me as she walked towards the bedroom.
“Just as it was left. Nothing changed, just some dust!” I hear her shout from the other room. “Isn’t that something?”
It is.
- -
Rose presses her right paw into the carpet as she stretches are front legs. Despite being hardened by the years of neglect, dust, and water damage, still feels like it once did. She allows her mind to trick her. She runs under the bed and armoire, hiding from imaginary mice. Beth comes in from the kitchen and lays a throw on the bed. This is where Rose is allowed to lay, so not to ruin the comforter. She finds her spot and snuggles in between her two feet.
“Such a sweet girl, Rosalia. Paying your dues by keeping my feet warm,” Beth’s voice echoes into the room so faintly. The opaque memories becoming more chopped and faded over time feel so clear now.
Suddenly a bright jazz piano plays in the kitchen. Beth is awake and putting a kettle over the stove.
Spring is here, and Beth sits on the front porch while Rose rests her head in the afternoon sun spilling through the window.
Dusk appears and Beth has given in and retired back to the living room for more tea and light reading. The birds retire as well and the night becomes ever so quiet.
The day repeats, over and over, until one day it doesn’t.
One day Beth does not wake up and play Jazz. Many people come and then, everyone is gone. Someone visits once every few days to check on Rose before she is taken away from the home. Rose has returned, but Beth has not.
All these memories play at the same time. Her mind assigns no order or priority over these memories. Once they have played a few times, she pulls herself back to the old, dusty bedroom. Her new caretaker is waiting for her.
- -
I peel back the curtains. Outside the sunset stains everything it touches an orangey-red, meaning good weather ahead. A sense of peace calms my nerves and I feel a nuzzle against my ankle.
“I think I am ready now,” Rose says.
“You sure? We can always come back you know.”
“No, I don’t think so. But I feel so lucky to have been her once more.”
I follow Rose out. My shoulders rolled down with a sprinkle of shame.
“Thank you, Kara. I love you dearly.”
I pick her up onto my shoulder. Rose watches the house shrink behind us, and I watch the sun set on the last day I saw her as my little kitten.

2023.03.25 23:40 mindlessly-dreaming Rest In Peace, old friend 💔🙏
P,
It's been what.. 12 years since we last spoke? 13 aince the last time i saw you in person? It took me years to stop thinking of you all the time. I still to this day think of you sometimes. When I would drive down the road to my moms house, I would drive slower past your old house, and often wondered where you are now. Wondered if you're happy or if you ever thought of me too. Fleeting thoughts that would go as quick as they came.
A few weeks ago I thought about you, really thought about you, for the first time in years. I looked you up on Facebook, and saw you were doing good. I was happy that you seemed to have created a family and looked happy. I thought about sending you a message. God, I wish that I had. I wish so fucking bad that I hadn't let my ego stand in the way, and I had just sent you that friend request because now I will never have the opportunity.
A couple of days ago I saw in the news that you were missing. I knew from the article that you were probably gone. I hoped maybe you weren't. They found your body today. My heart breaks for your family. I can't imagine what they must be going through.
Maybe, it's silly because we are grown now with separate lives, and you probably never thought about that girl you had a crazy year with when we were 16, but a part of me always hoped I would run into you one day. We would laugh about how badly it ended. We would say sorry to each other, and blame it on being young kids who didn't know what the hell we were doing. I forgave you years ago, but I always thought I'd get the opportunity to tell you that. I thought I'd get the opportunity to say sorry for my part in it all.
But life is a fragile thing.. I will never get to have that now. I know you probably didnt think of me as often as I did you, but you changed my fucking life in that year and a half. For better and worse. You will always be my first love. You will always be my first heartbreak. No one else will ever be able to take those places. They are yours. I will always have a space in my heart where our memories of that crazy time lives.
We fucking hated each other when we met. Do you remember that? I always made fun of your stupid cowboy boots and backwards hats with that dumb fishing hook attached to it, and you always made fun of my mismatched shoes and all my band t-shirts and how I used to write on my jeans. We couldn't have been more different, but somewhere along the way we became friends. Because no amount of differences matters when you find someone who gets you, and for a while there, we just got each other.
I still remember how it happened. Our memories are still so vivid in my mind even after all these years. I guess you really never forget your first love.
I remember I told you how I liked to sit out in H's ditch while I watched your dad cut grass across the street. You told me I was weird(I have a friend who tells me the same thing, so maybe you were right lol), but I was really just trying to annoy you. I wanted to piss you off because you had said something to piss me off first. I joked that you were just jealous cuz your dad was hotter than you. You told me if I thought he was so hot, then I should give you my number so you could send me a picture. I said okay because I thought you were joking. You really did send me that damn picture of your dad on the couch eating ice cream 🤣 We talked for hours that night, and so many more after that.
I didn't realize that you had a crush on me, and you just wanted an excuse to get my number. I was so insecure back then. That was the start of a friendship that I will always hold close to my heart. A friendship that turned into love. At least for me. I think you loved me too.. in your own way, but I know you never felt it the way I did.
Do you remember that night I was staying with H, and you asked me to come over? I was so mad at you for that phone call earlier that day, but I still waited until everyone fell asleep, and I snuck over to see you. I always came when you called. You were drunk that night. You drunk a lot when your dad was gone on the weekends. I think you were going through a lot like I was. I wish I had understood that better at the time.
How about that time we road Go-Karts with your little sister while your dad grilled? I shoukd have got the recipe for how your dad made that squash because ive never eaten anyone else that tasted that good. We snuck off that day too. You took me out to the trails to see your deer stand that I told you I couldn't care less about, lol It was really just an excuse to get me alone. Remember that giant rock we hid behind? I wonder if it's still there? We were always sneaking around and keeping secrets.
Do you remember when we were on the school bus, and we talked about my dad and your step dad? How we connected on something so traumatic in the middle of all that noise and chaos around us, and for the first time it felt like someone understood what I was going through. When you are 16 and afraid and don't understand why things are happening, it really helps to have someone else who understands. You don't know this, but you were the first person I ever told the truth to. I think I might have been the only one who knew your secret, too. We held a lot of each other's secrets.
I am sorry that I got mad, and told D about that one thing.. you know what I'm talking about. I was just so angry at you. You really hurt me, and I was too young to understand the part I played in all of it. It was wrong of me to tell her, and I am so deeply sorry for that. I know it caused a lot of problems for you.
There are so many memories that live in my mind both good and bad, and they are all bubbling to the surface now. I feel stupid and selfish for crying because I don't know you anymore. But at one point in my life, you meant the world to me.
I will never love another person the way I loved you. Free and careless without a single fear or doubt or hesitation. I didn't care about whether I'd get heartbroken. I just knew that I wanted to be with you. Young love is so unique in that way and nothing can ever really duplicate it.
I still have that poem I wrote you. It's in my closet hidden within all the letters and cards that I kept from family and friends over the years. There are other poems. Ones I never showed you. Nicer ones. I wish I had showed you those instead.
29 is far too young to die, and nobody deserves to go out like that. You were probably so fucking scared. I am so sorry that you had to go through that, but you are at peace now.
I am just glad they found you and were able to bring you home to be buried. I am so sorry for any resentment I ever held towards you. I pray for healing for your family. Nothing will stop it from hurting, but I just pray that they are all okay and are able to heal with time.
I will probably delete this, but I just didn't really know where to talk to you. I didn't know what to do with everything I was thinking and feeling. I don't think anyone in my life will quite understand why this breaks my heart so much because they weren't there with us for all of those moments. I just wanted somewhere I could talk to you one last time. You will be so very, deeply missed by so many people.
I love you, P Rest easy, old friend 🙏❤️
Love, B

2023.03.25 23:40 AnnaJade309 A scene I would like to see in the next ACOTAR book **Spoilers**
This is going to be a Lucien and Eris post!!
Okay, so this is a scene I made up in my head, and I think about it daily. None of my friends have read the series, so I need to talk about it.
Here it goes...
So, the High Lords are together, and their councils. Beron, in a fit of rage, puts his hands on Lucien's mother for the first time in front of everyone. Lucien tries to step in, and Eris tries to hold him back. Helion turns to Lucien, his mother, and then Feyre, remembering their conversation about how he never stepped in to save the lady of the autumn court and decides it's time to act.
Helion places the lady of the autumn court and Lucien behind his back and sends a blow to Beron, and at that moment, Beron's suspicions of Helion being Lucien's true father are confirmed, and he goes feral. A huge fight ensues; Beron, out of anger and shame, tells Eris to kill Lucien for stepping out of line, saying if he does not belong to the autumn court, then he belongs nowhere, while Beron makes a fatal strike to Helion and his own wife. Eris picks up his sword but instead of killing Lucien he kills Beron.
Simultaneously Eris and Beron have their final moments while Lucien and Helion have theirs. The former father realizes the bond that has been cleaved with his son, realizing this whole time Eris is not loyal to him. The latter father admits the bond he and Lucien share, apologizing the lack of presence in his life, wishing they had more time, with his final words being something similar to "do our court proud, son."
Lucien and Eris stand up and look at each other for a long moment feeling the power of becoming High Lords seep into their blood, their souls. Eris looks at Helion's body and sorrowly says to Lucien, "I told you, you were never a threat to my throne, brother."
A heartbreaking moment, tying back to the one Rhys and Tamlin once shared after both their fathers were killed. Also, I don't believe Elain is meant for the night court, that she would fair better in the day court (and if all goes according to my wishes, it would be the two of them together.) I don't know much about the lady of the autumn court; maybe either after Lucien has his high lord power, he can use it to heal her? Or would a Romeo and Juliette ending be fitting for her and Helion? I'm not sure; Sarah can handle that, lol.
I love Helion so much, and it would be such a heartbreaking scene, but I would love to watch Eris and Lucien rule.
I've never made a post here, so if I accidentally violate a rule, please let me know so I can make an edit!
